Natalaie | 2 comments Hi,

I have listen to all the books in enders saga and shadow saga....I have tried other audiobooks but can get in to them...

I have notice that I like audiobooks in the style of enders game...I even enjoy the stories told on BBC radio 4 at times.

I dont know what this style of narration is.

Its as if i am just listening in on people / like I am listening to a play or a film .....

I was hoping someone can recommend me any sci fi books or space operas similar to narration of enders game or old mans war. It would also be good if thier was more than one narrator as I enjoy it that way.

I am mostly interested in books narrated similar to what I have described ...

Thank you

Tobias Langhoff (tobiasvl) | 6 comments I'm not sure I understand what kind of narration you're talking about. Do you have any examples of quotes that explain the format?

Natalaie | 2 comments As in the narrator is not jus simply readin the book out loud but its like you are listening to the characters having a conversation/ also listening in on thier thoughts ...hhhmm dont know how to explain it but if you listen to any of the enders game audio books you will get what I mean...

Penelope | 77 comments Perhaps you mean an audioplay? Like the old fashioned radio dramas with actors and actresses playing the various roles?

Janice (jamasc) | 1185 comments Try Theft of Swords and the remaining books in the series. The narrator is Tim Gerard Reynolds, and he gives each character a unique and believable voice.

I personally avoid full cast because you so often end up with a mixed bag some good some bad.

You may want to give World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War a shot. It's full cast and completely different from the movie.

Jeanie | 4024 comments Try more Orson Scott Card books... many of the same narrators read his books. I'm also a fan of the Ender's world books so know what you mean while being unable to describe it. A big part of it is OSC's writing styl plus his insights into human nature reflected in his characters. And Stefan Rudnicki's voice is so compelling when he reads any OSC book.

Griffin | 3 comments I get what you're saying and I agree that unique voices in characters does make the book that much more immersive. I've been lucky in that most of the books I've picked up have had some semblance of that and any that don't, I just want to return immediately. Examples of books that have the narration that you're looking forward to.

Artemis - From the creator of The Martian. An attempted heist on the only city on the moon. Female narration with some great accents.

Off to Be the Wizard - A series of books where the main character discovers that the universe is just a computer program that he can control. The narrator is excellent with voices, but he begins the main character's voice wayyyy too nerdy. Stick with it though, it gets better. Plus, they really do a great job at flushing out the basis of magic in the first book. That, however, dies off in the second book, which disappointed me.

Scott S. | 722 comments I think both of these you've mentioned are just regular single narrator narrations. They are both excellent narrations and I could be wrong but I don't think it's what the OP is after.

It seems like you like narrations in which the narrator does a range of voices. If so, you need to check out some of Oliver Wyman's work. Monster Hunter International in particular.

Griffin | 3 comments Oh damn, I didn't realize that the Ender narration was actually multiple narrators. That's actually pretty impressive.

I will absolutely check out Monster Hunter International
