Task 5.4. The Goodreads record contains no information indicating that Matigari was first published in a language other than English. I did a little cursory research, and found nothing indicating this either, although I did find the statement that he writes in both English and Gikuyu. Please provide some sort of reference for this.

Just an FYI - for task 5.5, you cited the ebook page number to meet the task requirements. We do not use the ebook page numbers. The paperback edition has 390 pages, so meets the task requirements - no need to repost, this is just to remind you of SRC requirements.

Sandy and Camilla, this issue has been resolved. There is a Kindle edition and a paperback edition. Both are combined now. Camilla, you can re-post when ready.

If you're retroactively claiming Golden Oldie tickets, you need to provide full info - especially the task for which you claimed the book.

Information needs to be provided in the GR record - you cannot assume that the moderators will read the GR bio or do independent research and figure out that he probably wrote the book in Gikuyu. There is nothing in the GR record showing a translator or giving any other information that it was not written in English, particularly since it's clear that he sometimes writes in English.
Feel free to re-post the task, providing the link to the information that indicates that the book was written in Gikuyu.

Your book for option 2, Crave, appears to have 2 ebook editions and no paper ones. Books that exist only in ebook form cannot be used for tasks requiring a specific page length.
Also, when you repost, please keep in mind that links must be included for all books - there is no link for book 2 (option 3).

I do not understand this post. Post #533 was for task 5.4 which specified to select a task not completed in the Winter SRC. I chose task 10.7.

Stories say that the city of Ninevah had a terraced garden system where the majority of its food was grown. The Tigris river ran through the center of the city; a person travelling up the river would see these terraced gardens and the water which was pumped up to them from the river in what was supposed to be a magical system which made it look like the water was flowing uphill!
So -- read a book with "environment," "ecology," "engineering," or "food" as a main page genre . The genre can be embedded as in "Food and Drink>Food."
Aunty Lee's Delights has a main page genre for "Food and Drink>Food" Please check this as I believe that I have met the requirements for this task.

At the time of review, Food was not listed. As you see above, I listed the genres that were present at the time of review.
Question regarding one of the options for 25.4:Option 2. Shrimp on the Barbie. Shamelessly stolen from a 5-point task in that first challenge (Spring 2011), for this option read a book of 100-150 pages in length.
*NOTE: ebooks without a print edition cannot be used for tasks requiring a specific number of pages. If you read an ebook, listen to an audiobook or read a Large Print edition use the page count for the mass market paperback if one exists. If there is no mass market paperback edition, use the paperback edition and if no paperback is available use the hardcover edition. See the rules for the complete method.
Are ebooks not allowed completely to fulfill this option or are they acceptable once we get page verification?

I am not concerned about the points but I have no idea what you mean about "at the time of the review". Would you please explain?
Wanda - she means, when she went through to verify the posts, the genre wasn't listed - since they can easily come and go depending on the way that the wind blows...

Dee is correct - "at the time of review" means the time at which I reviewed your post. I listed the genres that showed on the book's page at that time. Food was not one of them.
Wanda, if you want the points, you can either get the book genre reviewed prior to posting in the genre verification thread or simply repost and hope the genre stays. It is there currently. Mods do not go back to prior reviewed posts.

Also, the cover to

I did not see this book listed in ARBF or ARBF UK. If it is and meets SRC requirements, you will need to include the required info for childrens books if you use it in a task. If not, the only task for which you can use this is 5.10.

However, I can also see how it wouldn't fit this challenge, as the cover is so abstract in its set-up of the village. I'd be happy to just shuffle it elsewhere!

I see you've already used it elsewhere - I think that's best, because this is so abstract that it's hard to see what it goes over, and what it connects (except maybe a tree and a house roof!)

No. Sorry, I was having computer problems, so it looks as if the first part of my message got wiped out. You had already posted task 15.10, in your previous post, so your total was 15 points too high.

Playing for Love: Escape Down Under shows several ebook editions and a paper edition with no page numbers. You will need to have a librarian add a page number to the paper edition, or have the ebook edition approved for page length.
