Part 1 (Chapters 1-8)
(view spoiler)[This has been mostly back story and setup. Not much has actually happened, other than the assassination attempt on Rhee by Julian's father. I was surprised that she killed him, but at least, it was self-defense. (hide spoiler)]
(view spoiler)[ It ends with Aly being accused of Rhee's murder. I didn't think it would happen like that. Also, I was surprised that Vin was a spy. (hide spoiler)]
(view spoiler)[So far, I don't like Rhiannon, Rhee, and her story, but I do like Alyosha, Aly, and his story. Even though both have had difficult childhoods, I only feel bad for Aly. I think it's because he's more likeable. (hide spoiler)]

Part 2 (Chapters 9-12)
Things have gotten interesting. (view spoiler)[Seotra is dead; Dahlen killed him, which surprised me. I'm glad it wasn't Rhee. Also, I hope that he told Rhee the truth--that he wasn't behind her attempted murder and the murders of her family. (hide spoiler)]
(view spoiler)[Aly and Vin are on the run. They escaped one dwarf planet and are being pulled down to the surface of another one. I had hoped that Pavel would find a way out of that situation. He may yet do that, though. (hide spoiler)]

Part 3 (Chapters 13-17)

(view spoiler)[I didn' t expect Rhee and Aly to meet in the cargo hold. That was a little weird. It did bring about the meeting of Aly and Kara, though. I wonder if they will end up together. I feel bad for the scientists. They shouldn't have been taken and Ravaged. That's cruel; no one deserves that. (hide spoiler)]
(view spoiler)[ Nero is the one behind the war and murders. I was surprised by that. I didn't trust him, but I didn't expect him to be that evil. (hide spoiler)]

Part 4 (Chapters 17-Epilogue)
(view spoiler)[I had wondered if Kara was going to be Joss, but I didn't think it would be true. I'm she remembers her past now. I was surprised that her foster mom was the one that co-invented the overwriter technology. At least, she felt bad about it. Also, I'm happy that Kara and Aly kissed. It gives me hope that they will be together in the end. (hide spoiler)]
(view spoiler)[It was nice that the Fisherman came and save Dahlen and Rhee from Nero. I didn't think he would show up again. Also, I wonder if Nero survived the rescue. He probably did. The next book will need a villain. (hide spoiler)]
