What kind of animal would you say this is? Is it a lion? or some other kind of cat?

message 52: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 9004 comments It looks like a lion cub

Meg (megscl) | 2480 comments Can I please check that this is OK as a generic bird? I plan to pair with the word 'flight'

Kaity | 358 comments Is it clear enough that Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke has a raven on the cover (beak shape is what stands out to me) for book 1?

message 56: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 9004 comments I can't give you raven, but you could use it as a generic bird - sorry!

message 57: by Kaity (new)

Kaity | 358 comments Ahh well :) Glad I asked! Thanks, Dee.

Michelle (chellatrix) | 25 comments Speaks the Nightbird (Matthew Corbett, #1) by Robert McCammon

At first glance, this looks like a raven or a crow to me. The story has a parable about a nightbird entrancing someone listening to its song, which is not necessarily what I would associate with a raven or crow. When I look up nightbird, it seems to refer to any bird more active at night. So, I'm going to guess nightingale, which is known for it's song.

So, if I could, I'd please like to clear it for nightingale.

message 59: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 9004 comments I'm sorry - that isn't obvious from the image - you can use it for a generic bird but not nightingale

message 60: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (chellatrix) | 25 comments Okay, thank you. Lots of great options still. :)

I can find something else if you need the whole whale.

message 62: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 9004 comments Sorry - need a bit more than a tail (goes with the same as my just a wing decision earlier)

message 63: by Ava Catherine (last edited Mar 16, 2017 11:28AM) (new)

Ava Catherine | 1544 comments Thanks, I was afraid that would be the case? I'll find something else.

message 69: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 9004 comments Even though the title would indicate that - it isn't obvious from the image - you can use for generic bird however

message 83: by Cat (new)

Cat (cat_uk) | 3447 comments Hi! will any of the following silhouetted animals be Ok from this cover?
Inspector Hobbes and the Curse Comedy Crime Fantasy Romance (Unhuman 2) by Wilkie Martin
- elephant (you can see the head & trunk on LHS)
- lion / cheetah (between the elephant and the big man)
- dog (sitting next to the big man in the centre)
- rhino (on RHS)

Thanks!

message 84: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 9004 comments i'll give you the rhino - that one was immediately obvious...the others are too hard to readily identify (which would make it hard for Sandy)

I thought the lion/cheetah & dog might be a push, was sure that the rhino was Ok, but did think the elephant was pretty obvious too. ah well. But the collective word crash is a good win - thank you!

message 87: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Just want to make sure that the wolves on this cover of visible enough:

Dead to the World (Sookie Stackhouse, #4) by Charlaine Harris

message 88: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 9004 comments yeah - they are clear enough

message 89: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Thanks Dee. I'm all set now :0)

message 90: by Lys (new)

Lys (lysrowan) | 271 comments I was wondering if the animal on the cover needed to be an image or if it could be a word, such as an animal in the title of the book?

message 91: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 9004 comments it needs to be an image
