Lisa (seabelis) | 580 comments Is there a policy regarding slipcases? Specifically, should these editions be merged or ACEd?

lethe | 16359 comments If the books are the same, I'd merge them. Slipcases do not necessarily need to be shown. (Personally, I let it depend on the quality of the images. In this instance, I rather like the slipcase, and the book looks better too (what is that weird white thing on the cover without the slipcase?).)

Folio Society editions, f.e., (almost) always come with a slipcase, but their catalogue and website usually show just the books: http://www.foliosociety.com/category/...

While I agree with this, if someone has added one as an ACE, I see no reason to delete/merge that edition.

lethe | 16359 comments Seriously? I hope you mean when someone has specifically called it an ACE in the description?

Many of these slipcased books do not have an ISBN and I think people just add a new edition without bothering to look through the hundreds of editions already there.

In this case the cover is also a different color. But I see no reason to delete any edition with a markedly different cover, and including a slipcase is markedly different.
