McKensie and Lara

Ashlynn nodded but found no comfort from her words, too many doctors and needles she didn't even remember what it was like before this. To run and jump, play and enjoy being alive.
James sighed and sat finding a breath, he was still so tired from the surgery but he was in charge "Taylor you and Zach get a room...don't make me regret that decision." He warned seriously and put Vallee on his lap "you can stay with me while we arrange where you'll go to school...don't worry you'll make friends quickly."
Mark sighed "I don't know London...until the humans stop hunting us and start fearing us again. They'll be locked in."
Damon said many more choice words that told him where to shove it. He didn't care about Torch losing his wifey and kids, he was consumed by the anger that he had no say in this. That his brand new babies wouldn't know a father...his threw more things grateful for the damage it caused.

Lexi sighed softly, hating to see her daughter like this. "I'm here for you Ash, you're not alone." She squeezed her hand again and left to let the doctors do their work. She sent a quick prayer down to hell, hoping Damon would get it. 'I love you. Always.'
Taylor nodded numbly, too frightened and shocked to even want to try anything with Zachary right now. She just wanted to be near someone for comfort. Getting up, she gently lead Zach to their room, collapsing on the bed.
Vallee looked up at James, worried. "And what if I don't, uncle James?"
(Hope u don't mind I did that... :P))
London swallowed and nodded, resting her head on his shoulder. "There are agents swarming the streets mark, taking people like us. I don't know how long we can last."
Torch swallowed, hurt that he didn't even have his best friend any more. he left quietly and sat on the couch in the living room, trying hard not to grieve Mae and his daughter and son. He would have to check up on James later.

Damon felt it and immediately started to cry, the anger dissolved into sobs his shoulders shaking. He went and sat by his friend numbly not even caring that only Lex had ever seen him cry "I have twin newborns..." He finally said after 10 minutes of silence.
((Nope! That's what I was hoping!))
James sighed and pecked her hair "you will...tons of friends and until you can see your parents again I'll take care of you..I promise."
Zach held her close just trying to be a support he nuzzled her gently and sighed "I'm here for you..."
Ashlynn started to feel better, after everything the doctors did. She could sit up and eat on her own. It had been so long since she had eaten anything she almost threw it up. She missed Jude, she missed how he made her laugh and feel like the prettiest girl in the world even without hair.

Torch didn't look up as Damon came out. He was half expecting him to pummel him. When Damon sat down, and he could hear him crying, he was shocked. He looked over at him, nodding then. "I should like to meet them when we get out of here." It wasn't an option in his mind that they would never get back.
Vallee hugged him then, as no words were needed. "When will I see them again?" She asked softly, missing them, even though she was glad to have someone Caring for her.
Taylor nodded weakly, curling up on the bed beside him, just wanting to be close to him. "I'm scared."
((I'm glad :) hope the plot twist wasn't too drastic...))
Jude was all alone in the hospital, scared and missing Ashlynn. He had never been so lonely before.
When Lexi reached the house again, she was exhausted, but the babies were already up and needing changing. She sighed tiredly and got right to work, wondering how Mae was managing.

Damon shook his head "He said it was definite...unless the humans crawl back into their holes and keep out of our business...I don't see that happening in the next century." He showed a picture of the twins "girl is blind...Ray I should use her name and Ryker..."
James sighed "I don't know princess..." He said honestly and tucked her in "don't worry about a thing beautiful...you'll see them again." He promised and gave her a little plushie animal.
Zach sighed "I know...me too..."
Mae knocked on the door, she needed company. She heard crying and rushed up "hello little ones!" She snuggled them close "honey go get some rest..."

Torch swallowed, looking down. He didn't like that it might be indefinite. All his kids would be grown up... Mae wouldn't have changed, neither would he, but it would be a long time to wait. He looked up thought, to see the picture and smiled. "They're beautiful kids, Damon. Ray is different, but beautiful none the less."
Valled nodded slowly, tucking the animal close to her body as she snuggled up. "Thank you uncle James." She gave him a small smile, warming up a bit.
Taylor hugged him. "But we have eachother. We'll make it, right?" She mused, trying to be optimistic.
Lexi smiled when she saw Mae. "Thank you." She said, relieved that someone could watch the children. "But I have to go check on Ashlynn."

Damon nodded and sighed "Ash is up there too, she's real sick...I may never see her again..." He said quietly and took a deep breath "I'm sorry I lost it on you...I just had so much say before with the devil and now I have none."
James smiled and nodded he pecked her forehead and closed the door quietly so she could sleep.
Zavh nodded "marry me Firefly?"
Mae nodded "alright, but stay there...get some rest I'll take care of the twins...and Micheal."

Torch shook his head slowly. "I'm sorry about that." He said, in response to Ashlynn's state. Then he smiled a little, looking over at him. "Hey, it's ok. I get it." He shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe you can talk to him again and eventually he'll listen." He smiled then. "I always thought you were the lucky one, getting to talk to him."
Taylor's eyes widened and she gasped. Was he being serious? Actually asking her? She nodded slowly, sort of in shock. "I... I'd love to!"
Lexi nodded then, hugging her quickly. "Thank you Mae. I won't be gone too long. I'll come back tomorrow to talk with you." She leapt out of the window and flew all the way back to Ashlynn, walking into her room. "Hey. You look better! Feeling a little better?"

Damon nodded "I will...not now, he's already pissed at me. Least you still have James and Zach right?..." He put his head in his hands "Lexi told me that she thinks she doesn't deserve me...and then this happens..."
Zach kissed her lovingly and dug in his pocket for a gold band "I've been saving this since we kissed on the playground swing..."
Ashlynn smiled and nodded licking her spoon "this is my second pudding..."

Torch nodded. "Yeah, I have them two." He agreed. "Why would she ever say she didn't deserve you?" he asked, a little surprised. "You two are perfect for eachother, always have been."
Taylor found herself tearing up for joy. She looked up at him, not quite sure what to say. And when she did find the words, she stumbled over them. "Oh Zach..." she breathed.
Lexi smiled brightly, coming to sit beside her. "Thats wonderful darling! Absolutely wonderful. I hope I didn't scare you too much by bringing you here..."

Damon sighed "she has real self confidence issues lately...thinking she's a bad wife and mother. Because all the years in foster care put that belief into her..."
Zach smiled and kissed her nose "tomorrow..we'll combine our souls."
Ash shook her head "they made me feel better...I got another scar but my head stopped hurting for once and I haven't seized!"

Torch sighed softly. "I forgot about that part of her past." he shook his head. "You just have to show her how important she is to you Damon." He shrugged. "When we get back."
Taylor smiled, eager to be bonded with him. "I can't wait." She whispered, her previous worries forgotten. She curled up beside him.
Lexi kissed her forehead. "I'm so glad you're feeling better. I talked to the doctors. They said you could come home in a week. Home for good Ashlynn."

Damon sighed "what if we never get back?...what if that's the last conversation I have with her...what's the last thing you said to Mae before you knew?"
Zach smiled "sleep my little firefly, it's time to relax baby."
Ashlynn grinned "really? I can go home? Will I get my hair back?..."

Torch held his head in his hands. "Let's just say I don't want it to be the last conversation I ever have with her." he said seriously. "I can't give up Damon. I can't. I can't just accept that they're.... they're... gone."
Taylor nodded in agreement and she let herself yawn and relax beside him, tired from the events of the day. "Goodnight" She whispered.
Lexi nodded, happy for her little girl. "You're on your way to be healed Ashlynn, you'll get your hair back, you'll be able to live a life again."

Damon sighed "I know...we'll figure this out. Humans just need to stop being a threat...need to fear us again. Wish I could cause another huge world castastrophe!"
Ashlynn smiled "I need to see my boyfriend again! Jude...he was the one at the hospital saved my life."

Torch laughed softly. "So make a bargain? Ask ol devil for a day to put fear back into the hearts of humans?" He offered, shrugging.
Lexi laughed softly then. "Boyfriend?" She asked. "I knew he was your friend, but I didn't know he was a boyfriend..."

Damon nodded and grinned his evil grin "oh I could see him going for that. But how do we talk to him? He closed mental connections."
Ashlynn giggled and nodded "he loves me, he wanted to heal me..."

Torch's smile grew, glad that Damon was gaining hope again. "We could risk a visit..." he offered, not keen on the idea, but hey, Damon was braver than he was.
Lexi smiled then. "Well I suppose I could approve. Where is he now?" She asked, happy that her girl was happy.

Damon nodded and grabbed their packs "it's a bit of a journey through the maze of trials...better prepare!"
Arwyn's smoke dimmed and she started to cry "Hell..."

Torch groaned. "Why did I suggest this again?" he sighed and shouldered a pack. "If I die, I'm blaming you." He said seriously, cuffing his friend's shoulder.
Lexi's smile faded and she swallowed, trying not to think of Damon, it was too painful. "Hey..." She said gently, hugging her close. "We'll see them all soon, I promise."

Damon grinned and punched his shoulder "come on coward, this is for Mae..." He looked over at Lukas "Luk you coming?..."
Ashlynn sniffed and nodded "i love him...I love him...he still thinks I'm beautiful..."

Torch rolled his eyes but didn't complain any more. He would do anything for Mae, but he wasn't so sure he'd make it out alive. Lukas looked up and shook his head. "Sorry boys. Anne is due any day now..."
Lexi nodded, rocking her daughter gently. "I'm sure he does. " She kissed her hair. "I love your father too honey, and I miss him very much. But we'll see them again soon."

Damon nodded "I understand." He smiled at Lukas "good luck..."
Anne looked up at Lukas and squeezed his hand "you worry too much...
Ashlynn nodded "I know...I feel sick..."

Lukas rolled his eyes. "I could never worry too much about you darling."
Torch rolled his eyes. "Lets give the two sweethearts some peace." he headed for the door, shaking his head.
Lexi nodded, grabbing the bowl from the bedside incase she needed to be sick into it. "Do you need me to call the doctors?"

Anne quickly stood up and packed them some food "take this...you won't survive without water....the living water at the fountain, don't forget."
Ashlynn vomited into the bowl and shook her head "no more doctors..."

Torch nodded in understanding, taking the food. "Great thanks. Living water. Got it." He waved to them both and walked out the front door with Damon. "Brave the maze, find the water, talk to the devil, scare the humans. One long list. But at least its progress." he smiled.
Lexi stroked her back gently, holding back her hair for her. "Alright. But you should drink something now, to stay hydrated." She said seriously, handing her the water bottle from her bedside table.

Damon led him to the ends of the society where it got too hot for most demons. The maze was made of brimstone and lava waterfalls it would get in your mind and try to destroy you.
Anne sighed and sat by him "I'm not due any day...I've got time."
Ashlynn drank it slowly and sighed feeling better "where's my siblings?...the babies?"

Torch was struggling with losing control of his fire, but he was keeping it steady so far. He was more alive in the heat, so he didn't mind it at all. It was the maze that spooked him. "Ready for this?"
Lukas sighed. "Not that much time my dear. It is coming up fast..."
Lexi smiled softly. "They're back on earth. You can meet them when you're feeling better." she kissed her forehead and helped her get settled in bed again.

Damon sighed and nodded taking the first step, the stones shook and split the two of them. They would have to fight this individually "Torch are you alright?"
Anne sighed "what if I'm not cut out to be a mom, my daughter would agree with that!"
Ashlynn nodded and sighed "Demetri blames himself...he wanted to sneak out!"

Torch was surprised, but not shocked, when they were split up. "Yeah, fine. Going to burst into flames any second here, but just fine." He swallowed and started walking forwards. "Let's take this slow ok? We only get one chance remember." he called.
Lukas shook his head, kissing her gently. "You will be the perfect mother." He promised. "Besides, this time you have a little help. I'll be here with you the whole time."
Lexi swallowed. "Poor boy. I hope he's doing ok in hell." She said softly. "You're very brave, you know that Ashlynn?"

Damon nodded "alright, take it slow. I can't lose my best friend." He stepped the stones and ducked as darts flew out trying to poison him with a poison that turned a demon to stone.
Anne kissed his cheek and held his hand "what if it's a girl?...who would your heir be?"
Ash frowned "how come?"

Torch nodded, his wings sprouting to carry him over a section of the maze that had dropped away into oblivion. His heart was pounding, but he was still pressing forwards.
Lukas sighed. "I do hope we'll get a boy eventually. But you know I am always happy to give the title to Damon if he accepts it."
Lexi smiled happily. "Because you have survived through all this, braved the doctors, braved the sickness. And you survived."

Damon leaped, forgetting he could actually fly. He scrambled getting back on the path getting deeply cut on his forearm. He groaned but kept going "still alive?"
Anne nodded and ran her hand through his hair "will you ever retire?..."
Ash smiled "I guess I am brave! I always thought I was scared..."

Torch nodded, gritting his teeth. "Yes, but barely holding on. Almost burning here Damon. You ok?" he asked, dodging under two turning logs studded with spikes.
Lukas shook his head. "No. Not until I have an heir." He said seriously.
Lexi shook her head. "Not scared." She said, kissing her forehead. "Very very brave."

Damon rolled as the rock door started to collapse down "dandy...I think I see the fountain Torch! Just keep thinking about that pure water..." In truth he didn't see the fountain and they had miles to go, but whatever kept his friend motivated.
Anne nodded and sighed, she felt a twinge and ignored it focusing on him. "The devil has to approve of the heir correct?"
Ash hugged her close "where are we? You look different!"

Torch swore as an arrow struck his shoulder. He tore it out and tried to stop the blood with a hand. "Almost there..." He repeated, teeth grit together. He was sure how much longer he would last.
Lukas nodded. "Yes, yes he does." he agreed, squeezing her hand. "Do you feel alright still? Need anything?"
Lexi laughed softly. "yes I do, don't I?" She shook her head. "we're on our home Planet Ashlynn. Neither you nor I are from the earth."

Damon groaned as he was tripped by barbed wire, his face was covered in road rash and lacerations, keep going...this is for Lexi...this is for the kids..."keep talking Torch, it'll distract you!"
Anne shook her head "I'm fine, Luk...you have duties with all of this chaos, I'm fine for right now."
Ashlynn frowned "but what about Dem and Taylor?...why are we from here?"

Torch shook his head, trying to keep his eyes straight ahead. He could see the fountain now. Just a dot in the distance. Obstacles were bursting into flame now as he passed, and he could feel his body twitching with the heat. He would go heywire any second now. He started just stumbling through the maze, running into everything. "I think I'm going to die." he muttered. "There, does that help?"
Lukas sighed softly. "I'll be in my study, but seriously. Call me if you feel even the slightest of anything." he said, giving her a stern look.
"I'm from here darling, and it just so happened that only the girls inherited the genes. Taylor looks like I do now when she comes on this planet. You less so because you got less of this side of me than she did. But Dem didn't get anything of it at all." She explained.

Damon shook his head repeatedly he was starting to lose his sight, blood dripped down blurring his vision "don't talk like that! Think about Mae, think about London! They still need you!" He fell to the side of the fountain and looked around for the other path Torch would be coming from.
Anne waved him away "I'm fine...this isn't thr 18th century..." She dismissed and worked on some paperwork.
Ashlynn nodded starting to understand "ok...so my powers.come from here, the seizures and migraines?"

Dem was just starting to wake up in his room, feeling rather groggy and disoriented.
Torch kept moving, kept telling himself he had to. He didn't even know he reached the fountain until he nearly tripped right over it and opened his eyes again. "Oh thank goodness." he immediately splashed it eagerly over his wounds, healing them. "Come on Damon, this feels much better."
Lukas rolled his eyes. "Well it could be. Feels the same to me." he called as he walked to his study.
Lexi nodded. "Exactly dear. Which is why they knew how to fix it. You'll be ok now."

Damon nodded rubbing his forearm and face, he drank it eagerly finding it gave him strength and energy he never had after his well rebirth. "It's magnificent!"
Anne smiled and rubbed her stomach "you listen to me...you are staying there until I say so." She whispered and sighed. In honestly she was scared.
Ashlynn nodded and sighed "it's beautiful here...why did you leave?"

Torch smiled, nearly a new self, a stronger self. "Well I do believe it was worth dying just for this part." He said, drinking until he was no longer thirsty. "Shall we go pay the old man a visit?"
Lukas groaned loudly so she would hear it and tried to ignore his worry as he worked. He had not had a pregnant girl since who knows when.
Lexi smiled softly. "Because I love your father, and he matters more to me than any pretty planet." She said, squeezing her hand.

Damon nodded and handed him some food "might as well eat before we go, still s long journey you know." He pointed out taking a bite of the crisp apple.
Anne laughed lighy but the laughter caused another twinge "I said no." She said sternly to her stomach. Not tonight.
Ashlynn smiled "I'm glad you married daddy...tell me your story?"

Torch nodded in agreement, eating the bread Anne had packed them. He was so glad they had agreed to bring it. Apparently gaining a stronger body made one hungry. Besides, he hadn't eaten in a while. "If you want any more, I suggest you take it now. You know I could eat a house on a good day, and I'm starving." He smiled.
Lukas worked for the whole afternoon, and in the evening he went to join Anne for bed. "Are you still feeling alright my dear?" he asked, worried as always.
Lexi smiled softly. "Are you sure you want to hear it? It might not be what you expected." She said seriously.

Damon laughed and quickly grabbed some more, he munched on it happily and ripped the meat and made a sandwich "I haven't felt this good for centuries!" He drank some more of the clear water.
Anne sighed and nodded, she hated sleeping on her back. That's all the uncomfortable feelings were right?
Ashlynn frowned "it's not romantic?"

Torch nodded in agreement, his mouth full as he presumed swallowing the rest of the food. Then he grinned, looking down at his reflection in the fountain. "I think we're more handsome now." he said bashfully. "Think the girls will be happy?" It was nice talking with Damon like school boys again.
Lukas frowned a little. "You don't look too happy about something my dear. Can I help in any way?" He asked gently.
Lexi laughed an shook her head. "It's extremely romantic darling, just more violent then I'm sure you were expecting." She smiled then, and started the tale of how she and Damon had met and fallen in love.

Damon shrugged "I don't think they'll disapprove anything as long as we are together again!" He said with a huge grin "come on let's keep going, he's always in a better mood at night!"
Anne sighed "low back just aches...down into my pelvis..."
Ashlynn was amazed by the bravery and sacrifice of each "that's how the Milton's and you became such good friends?"

Torch nodded in agreement and climbed to his feet again. "You got it." He walked with him up the obsidian steps to the front gates of the palace of the devil. "Still don't get why he lives in such a dark place...I can hardly see anything in here, even with my night vision." he whispered to Damon as they entered.
Lukas moved around her so he could massage her back gently. "Think its getting closer?" He asked, knowing that one usually got achy towards the birth.
Lexi nodded, smiling fondly. She missed Damon so much. But she made sure she didn't cry around Ash. Her daughter didn't need to deal with that. "Yes, exactly." She agreed.

Damon nodded, and pressed his palm against the cold marble the runes started to glow red revealing the hidden door. Demon faces leared and ghouls cackled. The door slammed and there was no light.
"Come in." A dark voice said that put fear into every beings heart.
Anne sighed "yeah...it is, whether I like it or not..."
Ash hugged her and sighed "I want to go home now..."
When Lexi arrived again, she was already tired from flying so far, twice. But she had to keep checking on all their kids. She had promised Damon she'd care for them. She squeezed her daughter's hand. "Hey baby, you'll be ok. You're in good hands." She promised.
Taylor clung to Zach all through the transitions that were being made. Trying to find rooms for demons to stay in, sorting out who knew who. She held Vallee's hand and followed James around, treating him as a father figure, as he was the oldest and frankly, she felt lost.
London nodded weakly, hugging him tight. "How long with this last? A few days? A week?" She didn't want to whisper what she dreaded... Forever?
Torch leaned his forearm on the door, closing his eyes. "Listen, I have people up on earth too, Damon. You know that. And I believe we can do something, but not by ourselves. Please let me in..." He asked.
