McKensie and Lara

James was unconscious, his vitals were out of control his heart rate was going so fast it caused the seizures.
Damon entered, it was far too easy for him and that's when he saw her on the table "Lexi!"

London stood on a corner of the room, chewing her nails off as she watched the doctors try to stabilize James. "Please be ok." She mimbled please be ok." She walked up to a doctor. "What is wrong with him?"
Lexi tensed when she heard Damon's voice and she shook her head frantically. "Get out of here Damon! Go! It's a trap!" As if on cue another power destabilizing net fell from the ceiling and onto Damon and Lexi moaned in despair.

The doctor tried to explain that his heart was going too fast that his brain couldn't react fast enough so he seized. "Does he have heart problems? Or dealt with stress?"
Damon cried out trying to fight it he groaned feeling his strength leave him "I'll kill you when I get out!"

London choked back a sob. "He.... He's had heart failure in the past...." She whispered. "Oh this is all my fault. He gave his blood to me once!" She slid down against the wall, shaking.
"No need for that." The man said, stepping around the table. "You won't be getting out of here anytime soon. And if you don't want to watch me slit your girl open I'd cooperate." He nodded to two other agents. "Strap him to a table."

The nurse hugged her "it isn't your fault dear...he'll get better soon. Does he have family you can contact?"
Damon struggled against the restraints angrily "what do you want from us?!"

London nodded slowly, closing her eyes so she could send the message on to Torch and Mae. "His wife is in the ICU with their child." She said softly.
The man smiled, inspecting his nails. "Information, my dear boy. On you mutants. We have ignored you in times past, but no more. You are growing too many in number to be ignored any more." He walked over to Lexi and smiled, laying a hand on her stomach. "And this little one will make a lovely test subject..."
Lexi whimpered.

Mae heard the message and sighed with a tired look in her eyes "Torch...James is sick again..." She wanted a day of rest where she didn't have to worry about anything.
Damon yanked against his restraints "you touch her and you'll die! We are not alone and many know that we are here, the gates of hell will open and wrath will destroy this place and you!"

Torch nodded, "You stay here Mae, I'll go heal him." He promised. "You should rest, I'll be back soon." he took off then, flying to the hospital.
The agent laughed. "We have a shield about this place. Once passed, a mutant becomes weaker then a mortal, and unable to enter." He shook his head. "But let's get started shall we? I'd like the baby aside before we start testing." He nodded to one of the scientists. "Get the child out of her."
Lexi paled and tried to jerk away. "Damon!" She cried, terrified.

James was getting weaker, it was if he had given his energy to bring Hope back and now the side effects were taking place.
Damon growled ripping out of the restraints with inhuman strength he knocked out the scientist with an energy blast quickly morphing into his demon phase which wasn't phased by the pitiful fields and nets that blocked powers.

Torch arrived at the hospital and bit his lip, shaking his head. "James..." He walked over and immediately got to work, trying to get James's heart back functioning normally again, and get energy into him.
The agent smiled slowly, calling for more back up measures on his mic before pulling out a gun and pointing it at Lexi. "Don't you dare move or she dies." He growled.

James coughed shaking when he felt energy flow into him "Emily?..." He whispered wondering where his wife was.
Damon growled taking the gun and breaking it with his strong jaws, he would take no threat from a mere mortal. Especially against his family!

London nodded slowly. "She's with your daughter, and does not know of this. Do you wish me to get her?" She asked softly, wanting the best for him.
Lexi had been watching from the table in shock, wanting nothing more than to get out of here. "Damon, please, lets go." She begged.
The man backed against the wall, looking afraid for the first time. His last resort was to pull out a taser gun and shoot it towards Damon.

James shook his head "don't...want to worry...her..." He whispered weakly and sighed smiling at his dad "I saved my daughter..."
Damon drained his life from the body and got Lexi undone quickly morphing back.

London nodded and Torch smiled proudly. "That's my boy." He said gently. "I would love to meet her."
Lexi immediately jumped into his arms, clinging to him. "Let's go home, please." She begged, hating this place.

James smiled and closed his eyes exhausted "don't tell Em..."
Damon nodded and quickly flew out and back home. He rubbed her wrists where she was restrained and kissed her stomach "I've never been so scared..."

Torch nodded his promise, "I won't if you don't want me too."
Lexi kept herself pressed against him, afraid of leaving his side. "I think that makes both of us." She lay her hand on her stomach, "I didn't want them to take this little guy." She whispered. "I thought..." She shuddered. "I thought...."

James nodded and was out like a light, it always took so much out of him when he was sick. He didn't need Em worried about him though, she should be happy with Hope and love being a mom.
Damon kissed her head and hushed her softly cradling her in his arms "they won't..." He promised and placed his hand over hers "I don't think they will mess with our family again...not unless they want to go braindead!

London watched James fall asleep and she sighed softly. "Is he going to get better Dad?"
Torch nodded reassuringly, "Of course he will, he just needs some time."
London sighed softly. "This is my fault, if he hadn't donated that blood..."
"That was his choice, London." Torch said gently.
Lexi nodded slowly, swallowing. She wanted to just forget all that had just happened, but it was something so mentally scarring, she knew she would be reminded of it every night for a while. "I-I'm sorry. It was my fault..."

Mark knocked on the door holding onto Vallee's hand, she was sucking on a lollipop from the waiting area "momma!"
Damon shook his head "shh, it wasn't...it's nobodies fault. Just glad that we got out of there in one piece...I can't believe they would just do a c-section right there he's only a preemie!"

London turned, smiling then and went over to her family, scooping Vallee into her arms. "Hey darling." She said, smiling. "I see you got a treat." She took Mark's hand in her other one and squeezed it gently in thanks.
Lexi nodded, feeling sick. "And you don't want to know what other things I read about that they would do to test subjects." She shook her head. "Damon... how do we keep our family safe?"

Mark kissed her cheek and nodded "she did, the doctors say she isn't caught up on her vaccines..." He said sighing "but the peds doctor isn't in."
Damon sighed "I don't know love...stay away from that building forever that's for sure!"

London nodded, kissing their daughter's hair. "So do we have an appointment to bring her in another day then? We really should get up to date on those..." She mouthed the word 'shots' as Vallee hated them, and she didn't want her to freak out.
Lexi nodded, smiling a little then. "I'll remember that much." She said honestly. She looked down at her slightly swollen stomach then and sighed. "Pregnancy can be so stressful... especially when you have someone trying to steal your child..."

Mark nodded and rubbed her arm "next week...we all have appointments, might as well get it all out of the way right?"
Damon rubbed it carefully "they won't touch him...can I get you anything?"

London's face fell and she groaned softly. "We all do?" She asked, "Are you sure? You know I don't like the doctors..."
Lexi nodded, smiling slowly. "I haven't eaten in a couple hours..." She said honestly. "So maybe some food?"

Mark smiled lovingly "ill hold your hand..."
Damon smiled "want some soup?"

London sighed softly and nodded, giving him a small smile. "Well that will make me feel better, but are you sure you want to watch the doctors poke at me?"
Lexi nodded, easing herself down into a nearby chair. "That would be nice Damon, if you could."

Mark laughed lightly "it'll be fine...they'll have to poke at me too, and I don't expect you to watch."
Damon nodded pecking her forehead before warming up a can of soup for her. "Taylor still is with Zach, I think she chose to grow older...to be with him."

London blushed a little and nodded. "I suppose I'll survive." She sighed softly. "I'm worried about James, Mark."
Lexi's eyes widened in surprise, as she had not known of this. "To be with him? Already? Is our little girl seriously in a relationship already!?" She asked, shocked.

Mark sighed and nodded "I know...I wish there was something we could do..."
Damon sighed and nodded "apparently, we did betroth them before birth..."

London swallowed. "I feel so useless. I should be able to help him, but I already tried healing him... nothing changed."
Lexi smiled. "Yes. Yes we did. Well I suppose we wont really have an empty house once the older three are gone. We'll have a little one to look after."

Mark sighed and hugged her "because he gave you his life blood!"
Damon smiled and nodded "we may be grandparents...that's weird!"

London hugged him back tightly. "You have to become friends with him again when he's better, Mark. I can't have my two favorite men hating eachother forever after."
Lexi laughed softly. "Very weird. We're getting old, Damon. And I still look young, it feels so strange."

Mark sighed "I don't dislike him London! He just hates me..."
Damon laughed welcome to being a demon my darling."

London nodded, sighing softly. "I know. He still thinks that you "knocked me up" and he doesn't really get that we just made love. I thought he would understand after having a kid with Emily..."
Lexi smiled a little. "You'd think I would be used to it by now." She mused.

Mark laughed and rubbed her waist "I think he just doesn't like that I see you naked."
Vallee made a face "naked?"
Damon ran his finger down her nose "you are still as cute as the day I met you."

London shot him a look. "Oh hush, not in front of Vallee." She turned to smile down at her daughter. "Don't worry about it dear. Daddy just said something inappropriate."
Lexi blushed crimson and smiled shyly. "Rather a traumatic day if I remember correctly." She teased.

Vallee frowned and shrugged a shoulder "ok...can we go home?"
Damon chuckled "for both of us..."

London looked over at James breifly and bit her lip. "I don't know darling, your uncle James isn't doing so well."
Lexi rolled her eyes. "Oh it can't have been that bad for you... was I really that horrible?"

Vallee looked over at the man on the bed "why?"
Damon shook his head "the guilt was overwhelming!"

London sighed softly. "He's having a hard time with his heart. It's not working properly."
Lexi bit her lip, cupping his face. "You never told me that. You are absolutely adorable."

Vallee frowned "sur-gery?" She pronounced and frowned remembering that name.
Damon flushed "oh Lexi!"

London nodded slowly."That might help him." She turned to the doctors. "Does he need a transplant?"
Lexi smiled brightly and pecked his nose. "Well I am glad I can still make you blush."

The doctors sighed "if that was a possibility..."
Damon laughed and nipped at her "always...only you."

London frowned a little. "And why is it not?" She asked.
Lexi blushed herself then. "Aw Damon..." She wrapped her arms around his neck. "Thanks baby, I needed this time with you."

The doctor showed her his chart "he has a very specific blood type that is almost all his own. Getting a heart with that match soon is asking for a lot."
Damon pecked her nose and fed her some soup "come on love...eat up, you need to get your strength up."

London swallowed. "He and I are twins." She said softly. "You can take my heart for him. I'm sure my body would heal in time to keep me alive."
Lexi swallowed obediently. "Yes, you're right. My. Time flies quickly. Its almost time for the little guy to come."

Mark took her hand quickly "no." He said sternly looking at her in shock "that's not an option!"
Damon rubbed her stomach carefully and nodded "think I'm more prepared now...then I ever have been."

London shook her head, looking rather sorrowful. "And what if this is James's only chance?" she asked softly.
Lexi smiled softly, leaning her head on his shoulder. "You and me both."

Mark watched his friend and swallowed "we'll come up with something else. That isn't an option, if you still think it is than you get to tell Vallee she might not have a mommy anymore."
Damon kissed her forehead moving her hair back "get some sleep...I'm on guard tonight..."
London shrieked, paling. "James!" She cried, calling and nurse over. "James what is wrong!?" The nurse got him on a bed and wheeled him into a room to be examined quickly.
Torch stiffened. "They have Lexi." He whispered, shocked. "I'll be right over.' He sent back.
Lexi was strapped to a lab table and hooked to a monitor before she could blink. A tall man walked over and smiled slowly. "My darling..." He crooned, running a hand over her stomach. "You are quite the catch, but I can't wait for the father of this little one to join you. Then we can really start the fun." Lexi jerked on the restraints, "you leave my family alone!"
