Ashlynn yawned sleepily and nuzzled him before falling asleep. Liv nodded and laughed "you and I need to get dressed, so ill meet you back here alright?" She wanted to look her best make him stop and stare.
Zach smiled "hey dad..." He sipped another spoonful "I did the full pipe..." He wanted to remember the skating park and not what happened after.
James looked up, but her face said enough he was crushed. He hugged Emily close sobbing into her hair. His baby...He didn't even get to hold it.
Dem nodded in agreement. "See you in a bit." He smiled and dashed off to go to his house to get changed. This was their first real date on good terms and he wanted it to go smoothly. Torch smiled brightly, ruffling his hair gently. "That's amazing. I don't think I could do that without wings to help." H said, shaking his head. "Did Taylor skate at all?"
Emily was asleep from the exhaustion of labor and the pains, so she wasn't even aware of what was happening.
London bit her lip, hating that she couldn't help her brother. She backed out of the room and leaned against the wall, finding that she was soon crying too.
Liv went back to her elaborate place, she usually never showed anyone where she lived because they would immediately place judgenent. She got a large share of money when her birth parents died though she hardly remembered them. She dressed in a little black dress and released her hair from its usual ponytail and let it hang around her shoukders.Zach nodded "I taught her to do the mini half pipe...She liked it...I think.." He coughed breathing being more difficult than usual.
James slowly stood and went out to London, his face broken he just wanted to see his baby "will they...let me hold it?..."
Dem flew back home and got dressed up nicer than he usually did. He put on a nice pair of dress pants and a dress shirt. He even showered and combed his hair. When he was done, he smiled at the mirror and went to meet Liv.Torch smiled again "I'm sure she loved it, especially since it was you teaching her." He winked. "You feeling a little better bud?"
London tried to dry her eyes, knowing they were his tears not hers, and she shouldn't be crying. "It might make it hurt worse James, but I'm sure they'd let you." She whispered.
Liv was waiting outside the hospital patiently, she tried not to twirl a piece of her hair a nervous trait she had which was why it was always in a ponytail.Zach nodded slowly "yeah...it just, doesn't feel like my body." He didn't know how to explain it without sounding crazy.
James swallowed "I need to see my child...I need to let it know how much I love it and...how much it hurts having it taken from us..."
When den showed up, he did a double take and his eyes nearly bulged from him his head. "Oh my gosh you're h.... Ho......" He couldn't bring himself to say the word hot as his face grew red.Torch nodded slowly, trying to understand his son. He didn't really, but he didn't say that. "That doesn't sound very nice." He commented gently. "Anything I can do for you?"
London nodded, looking down as she lead him into the icu. A nurse came over upon request and gently put the cold lifeless body in his hands. It had died the moment it came out. She explained to them. At this point even the demons knew there was no saving it.
Liv flushed bright red and laughed nervously pecking his lips "you don't look so shabby yourself..." She whispered with a smile running her hand through his hair she liked it messy it was him.Zach sighed "I want to see Taylor...should have protected her...is she ok?..."
James sank in the rocking chair and held his little girl. He brushed her few wisps of hair away from her face "I'm sorry baby..." He whispered and cradled her against his chest his heart in pure anguish.
Dem smiled, shaking his head. "I just combed that!" He protested, but he didn't mind really. He took her hand gently and walked them to the place, smiling. "You ready to go in?"Torch sighed softly. "Don't beat yourself up about it." He said. "I'm sure Taylor is ok." He promised. "We can get them to visit soon if you'd like." He smiled.
London couldn't watch, it broke her heart. She mumbled an apology and ran to the washroom. She had broken her brothers heart. She couldn't save his child... And now he looked so broken. London sank to the floor, crying.
Liv nodded with a smile and pecked his cheek, she was excited to dance with him again. Slow dancing made her feel things that were so wonderful and gave her goosebumps. "Should we find a table? Or just dance?"Zach nodded his face brightening to a healthy glow "yeah...I need to see her, and hold her...im her protector..."
James blinked feeling a tiny breath against his chest, he cradled the baby and felt for a pulse his heart rushing "she's alive!"
Dem smiled. "First a table so I can put my coat down, then we dance." He said, leading her to a table. The he smiled gently and took her hand, walking up slowly onto the dance floor.Torch nodded in understanding, and he wanted to make his son happy, but he didn't want to do anything he couldn't manage. "Are you sure you're feeling well enough for a trip like that?"
A nurse turned, shaking her head. "The baby is dead. I'm afraid you're going into shock." She said as she walked over. "The child is dead, I assure you. There has been no heartbeat." She gently tried to take the child from him. "It was too small to live."
Liv smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck pressing herself close "I love you...you look very dashing, and smell...so good." She mumbled in his chest.Zach sighed and shook his head no, he knew his limits and that was too much "can't she come...here?..."
James shook his head "no! Dang it! She's breathing!" He wasn't letting them take her away. Another nurse came over and checked just to keep him calm but he was right "get an incubator!"
Dem's hands gingerly settled on her waist and he started to move slowly with her. "And you look ravishing." He said softly, kissing her hair. "I'm so glad we're doing this."Torch nodded in understanding and squeezed his hand gently, "I'll contact Damon and ask if he can bring her. She might not feel well enough either though." He said, sending the message to Damon.
The nurses bustled around to get the child hooked up to life support again.
Liv nodded in agreement and smiled up at him "you clear my mind...remind me that the hospital isn't my only life..."Damon gently stroke Taylor's cheek "hey baby...do you feel well enough to go see Zach?...he's worried..." He whispered softly not wanting to push her.
James stayed close watching his baby girl "it's ok...daddy's here, daddy isn't going anywhere..." He promised holding her impossibly small hand with his finger.
Dem smiled brightly. "I'm glad that I can do that for you." He said, bending to kiss her gently, for only a moment. "Because It's nice to forget about responsibilities once in a while." he said honestly. "I haven't had much fun in ages."Taylor blinked her eyes sleepily and then nodded, sitting up very slowly. "Could you take me to him?" she asked hopefully.
London watched James with his baby girl and she smiled softly. "I'll go check on Emily." She said softly. When she walked back, she found the poor girl sobbing. Biting her lip, she walked over and gathered her into her arms. "Your baby is alive Emily, James is with her."
Emily frowned a little. "Her...? Alive...?" She asked softly.
London nodded.
Liv smiled "with a little sister like Ash I sincerely doubt that!" She teased and nuzzled him "I you two have lots of fun."Damon nodded "only if you feel up to it Angel...don't push it."
James was just so happy, he thought he'd lost her and she was alive...She was doing ok! He wanted Emily to see her so badly! She needed a name.
Dem nodded, his smile sad. "Yes, we do. But she lied to me back there, about what they were talking about." he sighed. "It makes me sad to think she would lie to me. She hasn't done that before..."Taylor nodded, reaching up her arms for him to pick her up. "I'll be fine. I wasn't hurt that bad, and I want to go check on Zach." She said seriously. She was so worried about him.
London came in behind James, not wanting to interrupt anything. "James? Emily wants to see you." She said softly. She didn't like being reduced to a messenger, but Emily needed him more than her right now.
Liv sighed "maybe she was trying to protect you, you've been through so much...She doesn't want you to worry..."Damon lifted her up and held her close as he flew to the house and knocked on the door.
James nodded and smiled "she wants her auntie Loo anyways." He said cheerfully and went back to Em with pictures of the baby on his phone "hi my love..." He sat by her and held her close
Dem closed his eyes slowly, thinking. "I sure hope that's not it. I'm supposed to protect her, not the other way around." He said, opening his eyes again. He hugged her tight and then started their dance again. "I do believe I am in love with you Olivia."Torch got up, smiling. "They're here." He told Zach looking back at him as he opened the door.
Taylor craned her neck, trying to see where Zach was.
Emily looked up at him when he came in and she smiled sadly, curling up against him. "Hello." She said softly. "Is it true?"
The name Olivia usually turned her off, but the way he said it sent her chills "I love you Demetri...thank you for bringing light back into my life."Zach was craning and grinned seeing Taylor "firefly!"
James nodded and smiled "she's very much alive...I held her and felt her tiny heartbeat..." He showed her the pictures.
Dem smiled, shaking his head. "I did only what you did for me." He slowly lead them back to their table and sat down again, picking up a menu to look at. Taylor beamed, sliding out of her father's arms. She walked as quickly as she could over to him and wrapped her arms around him. "Zach... I didn't know what had happened to you!"
Emily's eyes teared up and she pulled the phone closer. "Our little baby girl." She whispered. "She is the sweetest thing I have ever seen.
Liv smiled and snuggled up on his lap "what should we have? I think we might have a drink."Zach sighed "it was awful...I was just a piece of flesh..."
James smiled "I want to name her Hope..."
Dem smiled, nodding. "I'm thirsty." He agreed. "What sort of drink would you like?" he asked. Taylor winced, burying her face against him. "I'm so sorry... if I had somehow healed you sooner..."
Emily smiled brightly. "Thats a wonderful name. And so appropriate for the occasion."
Liv shrugged with a smile "I'll share whatever you want..."Zach held her close and kissed her head he rubbed her back "did they hurt you?"
James pecked her cheek and nuzzled her "how are you doing?"
Dem smiled brightly. "Adventurous are we? I'll have a light beer if that's ok, and maybe a sandwich."Taylor sighed softly, squeezing her eyes shut tight to keep out the memories. "They poked me with needles, but I'm ok now." She promised, more worried about him.
Emily sighed softly. "Still a little shaky and weak, but doing much better." She said honestly.
Liv smiled "I think I want a pasta salad...that sounds good, maybe a white wine after all?"Zach shook his head and held her close "I just want you safe...let's be older now, I want to protect you."
James held her close stroking her back "I've never been so scared..."
Dem nodded, smiling. He bowed a little and kissed her hand. "Anything for the lady." He flagged down a waiter and ordered for them both. Taylor nodded, wanting nothing but the same. She let her body change so she was older, but kept herself tucked in his arms. She didn't to ever leave again for fear of actually losing him.
Emily nodded, closing her eyes slowly. "That makes two of us baby." She whispered, opening her eyes to look up at him. "But it turned out alright, right?"
Liv smiled and pecked his cheek, she loved being treated like a lady she always felt so spoiled when he took care of her. She really loved him and didn't think she was capable of love before.Zach had already changed, he stroke her long hair and sighed kissing her lips "I love you so much..."
James nodded and nipped her ear "can I get you anything?"
Dem smiled over at her, squeezing her hand gently. When the food came, he started on the drink. "So, tell me about yourself. Tell me about your life outside of the hospital." He prompted. Taylor smiled a little, sighing contentedly against him. "And I love you." She whispered, tipping her head up to look at him. "I really do Zach, I love you so much."
Emily giggled, pushing his head away playfully. "Maybe something to drink?" She asked hopefully. "My throat is so dry..."
Liv laughed "what life? I try to never go home...I like Netflix and I hate sleeping on a bed, I sleep on the couch. I'm still scared of the dark and dolls..."Zach smiled and pecked her lips "I would risk my life for you...you know that right?"
James got up and filled her water bottle and gave it to her "anything to eat?"
Dem raised an eyebrow at that. "And what exactly do you do for fun?" He asked, astonished. She couldn't possibly just live like that, could she?Taylor laughed weakly and wiped her eyes again "please don't. I can't imagine what life would be like without you." She said softly.
Emily gratefully gulped down a mouthful and nodded, putting down the bottle. "Something small might be a good ideA."
Liv shrugged "cut people open?...play video games in the storage closet? Demetri I don't have a life, friends or family you're the first friend and social life I have had."Zach kissed her forehead "not going anywhere...you just get to date frankenstein."
James ordered room service for both of them and lounged on the couch missing his little girl.
Dem's eyes widened further and further as she kept speaking. Finally he smiled gently. "Well. I'm honoured, and I'll try to be the best social life you've ever had."Taylor giggled softly,, shaking her head. "What makes you a zombie mister? You are the cutest I have ever seen." She teased.
Emily ate eagerly, her appetite tremendous. "When do we get to see her?" She asked, hopeful.
Liv flushed embarrassed at his shocked looks "so what do you like to do for fun?...so that I can get some ideas." She teased and sipped her drink ready to get drunk for the night.Zach smiled lightly "just all the surgical scars and whatever they did to me..."
James smiled over at her "when you can get in the wheel chair and I will take you to her.."
Dem shrugged then. "Play with my sister, go camping, fly." He listed. "All lots of fun. " he picked up his sandwich then and tried it.Taylor shook her head. "You're beautiful Zachary, even with all your scars." She ran her hands lightly over his shirt covered stomach. "Can I see them?" She asked softly.
Emily grinned "well then let's go now!" She pushed herself slowly into a sitting position. "Let's go!"
Liv nodded and smiled "Ive never been camping..what's it like?" She asked curiously taking a bite of her pasta.Zach made sure their parents were well occupied before taking off his shirt and revealing the many surgical scars that were brutally and sloppily done.
James smiled and got up helping her into the chair and covering her lap with a blanket carefully.
Dem thought for a moment, wondering how to explain it. "Well, its fun. You go out into the wild and live in a tent for a few days. You can hike or fish or go rafting..." he tried not to think about his father's accident. Taylor winced, her eyes travelling over his scars. "Zach..." She whispered. "Oh I'm so sorry they did this to you." Her fingers trailed over one of the longer scars.
London was sitting with the baby, watching it carefully, as that was what her brother had wanted, but really, she just wanted to catch up with him, even though now was probably a bad time.
Emily smiled happily as he got her into the chair. She was so excited to see their little girl for the first time in person.
Torch had gone upstairs to check on Mae and Michael. "How's my beautiful wife and son?"
Lexi had been greatly disturbed by what happened to Taylor and Zach, as it mirrored the dream she had earlier. Making herself invisible, she decided to investigate and see what was going on.
Liv smiled excited about what he was describing "can we go camping? I think I would like it a lot!"Zach winced and held her hand kissing it carefully "better me than you my love..." He whispered honestly and sighed.
James rolled her into the ICU and smiled over at London as Emily stayed by the incubator he motioned her over to the couch so they could talk.
Mae smiled and let him wander over the ground and start to flap his wings "he's getting big."
Dem smiled brightly, glad she found interest in something. "Of course!" he agreed. "That would be a lot of fun."Taylor shook her head, not liking that it happened at all. "Why do you think they did this to us?" She asked, worried, "Why us?"
London watched as joy lit up Emily's features, and then she walked over to James and sat by him, smiling softly. "Long time no see I suppose."
Torch watched his son move and shook his head. "Is he ever!" He put a hand beneath him and helped him lift off a little, floating for a moment. "He'll be flying soon..."
Liv smiled "can we share one sleeping bag?...I get cold at night.." She pecked his lips and nudged her nose against his "I love you..."Zach sighed "I don't know baby...maybe we are powerful and they thought we wouldn't fight back?"
James wrapped his arm around her "I've missed you...a lot."
Mae shook her head "nope, he's still my little peanut."
Dem laughed softly and nodded. "I'm all for that." He blushed a little. "I love you too..." He closed his eyes. "What do you say we skip desert and you show me your place?" He whispered.Taylor nodded slowly, sighing. "But it's strange that they would attack like that, and not even explain why we were taken. It is our right to know why we were with held."
London leaned her head on his shoulder, sighing happily. "I missed you too James. It's been much much too long."
Torch laughed softly. "And he always will be Mae, I promise. James and London are both still our kids, same with Zach, even if they have grown older."
Liv smiled and nodded "I think I have some ice cream at home...we could go in the bedroom, I haven't been there...in months...maybe you could make me like it?"Zach sighed and held them close "just forget it...ok? I don't want you to dwell...I love you, just let me protect you."
James nodded and pecked her cheek "I missed you too, how's my sweet little niece? And Mark?"
Mae smiled feeling so comforted by that "thanks Torch...I love you so much...how's Zach and Taylor?"
Dem laughed easily. "I can take a hint darling, you didn't have to make it that obvious." He teased her, winking. He paid the bill and walked out with her, taking off into the skies. "Alright, direct me to your place."Taylor nodded, snuggling up against him again. "Ok. I'll try to forget it, if you do too." She promised, sighing softly. "I do trust you Zach, I know I am safe in your arms."
London smiled brightly, loving to talk about her family. "Vallee is doing great! She laughed for the first time yesterday, and Mark and I couldn't be happier." She said honestly. "You two should really get together to talk sometime.
Torch nodded. "That's what I'm here for." Then he sighed softly. "They both looked a little shaken up, and that can be expected. But I do think it's nothing permanent. We were lucky that way."
Liv pulled him down "just one more little thing...I don't want where I live to affect us ok? I don't show anyone please...this is a big step."Zach pecked her lips and pulled the blanket over her back holding her close "Im pretty tired...just stay ok?..."
James sighed "I still haven't quite gotten over that he knocked you up...I love you, but it makes me...mad that my best friend touched you. I'm naming the baby Hope..."
Mae sighed "what if they find the rest of us? Should we move back to Hell?"
Dem turned, nodding slowly. His first thought was, She's embarrassed about where she lives? It can't be that bad... But he kissed her cheek. "Nothing could change us, I promise." He said seriously. He would love her the same, regardless. Taylor nodded, smiling bravely. "Don't worry, I'll stand guard." She joked, curling up beside him. She let her own eyes close, so he wouldn't feel bad about resting by himself. "I'll stay with you as long as you want me."
London sighed softly. The way he said it made it sound like Mark making love to her was a bad thing, which she really didn't believe it was. "Which is why you two need to talk." She said seriously. "He is my husband..." Then she smiled softly. "Hope is a lovely name. I'm sure she and Vallee will be best of friends."
Torch sighed softly, scratching the back of his neck. "If it comes to that... then yes, I suppose that would be the safest. But we don't really know why this all has happened yet Mae..."
Lexi peered around the corner, staying silent so the agents walking past would not hear her. She snuck into the file room and started to read the documents on the testing of 'mutants'. Damon... I'm in the agency, this stuff I'm reading... its awful!
Liv slowly nodded and took flight she led him to the huge elaborate mansion and landed "well...this is it..." She said uncomfortably and toeing the ground "I got all my parents money...I found out they had died and left it to me, though they never tried to find me...so I hate it here, I hate the bedroom and all of upstairs..."Zach sighed "thank you...you make the monsters go away firefly..."
James sighed and held her close, "your just my Loo, I love you...I want the best for you. I miss being the one you tell everything to...our tree house and games."
Mae sighed "I'm just scared...I'm a grandma. And a mom I can't lose anyone else."
Damon was shocked "Lex get out of there...now! What are you doing?!"
Dem's jaw dropped when they landed and he was speechless for a few seconds. When she was done talking, he shut his mouth again and swallowed. "I'm sorry about your parents Liv, I really am, and I do think I can help you like the upstairs a little better." He smiled gently. "How about we go get that icecream?"Taylor smiled brightly. "Yes, I am terribly fearsome, aren't I?" She laughed softly. "rest Zach, we can talk more when you wake again."
London closed her eyes, smiling sadly. "Oh James, you're making my eyes water up. I miss those days every second. And I hate that we don't talk as much I really do. Which is why you need to talk to Mark, and I'll try to be friends with Emily, so we can both see eachother more, ok? I need you James, you're my other half, literally." She elbowed him gently and smiled.
Torch nodded, wrapping his arms around her. "I know, I understand completely. We'll play it safe, ok?"
Lexi put back the file and moved to the next. Don't worry Damon, I'm invisible right now, I'm perfectly safe. I have to find out why they took Taylor, so I can help keep our family safe. She said seriously. She didn't hear the agents lining up outside the file door.
Liv pulled him with her and smiled leading her to the kitchen and getting the container with the spoon "I can't wait..." She whispered and kissed him deeply with so much passion and love.James smiled and nodded "I'm still older...and wiser, and better looking." He teased and tickled her over and over "Emily already thinks you are good friends by the way..."
Damon shook his head "Lex get out of there now! I'm teleporting you out!"
Dem grinned, kissing her back eagerly. He held on to it for a moment, and then grinned, dipping the spoon in the icecream. "Want to try some?" He asked, holding the spoon towards her. London laughed easily. "Yeah sure mister I'm so much better than every other man alive." She shrieked when he started tickling her. "Mercy! And keep it down!" She giggled. "She's in this room you know..."
Lexi sighed softly, putting the file away. Ok sure. See you in a se... She grunted as a net fell around her, slamming her to the ground. She tried to teleport out, but found that the net disabled any powers. She couldn't even send a thought to Damon.
Liv smiled "I think...I'd rather have you...eat it off my back..." She whispered and pulled him to the couch and lay on top of him "please don't...make me go upstairs yet..."James sighed and coughed feeling sick, "you're rught...better get home to Mark and Valle...I'll keep you up-..." He collapsed on the ground starting to seize.
Damon stood up scared, they got her! He contacted Torch 'they have Lexi!!'
Dem nodded, waving to them before following her out. "Ok. Let's go enjoy ourselves."
Torch smiled brightly when Zachary responded and he moved closer. "Hey big man."
London slwallowed slowly and nodded. She didn't know how she could tell this to James. She walked back slowly and stood in the door, staying quiet.
