Torch bit his lip. She didn't tell him everything? He thought. "It's not my place to tell you Damon, but Lexi was pretty bad off when you were gone. You might want to talk to her, make sure she's ok again. I... I wouldn't want her to be holding anything in. Dem sighed, sitting down by his sister's bed. "I'm sorry Ash. Sorry I couldn't fix you myself." He whispered. He kissed her forehead. "Just get better, ok?"
Emily's eyes widened. "3 months?" She asked, a little shocked. "That... that is really fast..."
Damon frowned worriedly "what do you mean?...she was suicidal?" He whispered hoarsely and felt his heart start to race.Liv came in and swallowed "the surgery really was a success, it was lucky you brought her in so quickly..." she said quietly checking her vitals.
James nodded "yeah...and almost every time we have sex you create a fetus."
Torch sighed softly, nodding. "And tried to cut." He shook his head. "I'm sorry Damon. I just don't think she was all there, and I worry about her holding anything in. I know how damaging that can be."Dem stiffened when the doctor came in, not knowing that she had been there. He just nodded curtly and kept his eyes on Ash, worried sick about her. Clearing his throat, he coughed up the words, "thank you." rather reluctantly.
Emily swallowed. "Thank heavens for birth control." She murmured. Then she smiled softly, hugging him. "I'm very glad you turned me."
Damon nodded "I'm going to go find her, you ok here?"Liv blinked hearing that and nodded "I'm sorry...I get aggressive easily, I know you care about your sister, but I couldn't have you watching me with sad eyes while I'm digging in her brain ok?"
James hugged her back "I'm glad I met you..."
Torch nodded, holding out his arms to take Michael again. "We'll be fine. Thanks for stopping in." He said seriously. Dem nodded weakly, not liking the sound of 'digging in her brain'. It sent chills down his spine and he swallowed sighing. "Yeah it's fine. I'm sorry for shouting at you." He said at last, stroking Ash's hair away from her face.
Emily laughed. "We met in a casino. Such a lovely place to meet people..." She shook her head.
Damon gave him Michael and flew back home to Lexi "have you heard anything?..."Liv sighed "ill let you be." She said finally and left the room to occupy herself so she didn't get emotional, the poor girl.
Ashlynn slowly started to come to and moaned "I..has...headache..."
James smiled "I was getting money to help my best friend get a house...to take care of his sister."
Lexi looked up from where she was reading on their bed and smiled lightly. "Heard anything...?" She repeated, not sure what he meant, or if she was forgetting something. Dem smiled in relief when Ash came around again and he smiled, kissing her knuckles. "Welcome back to the land of the living princess." he said, smiling at her.
Emily raised her eyebrows. "Oh my gosh. You're so noble! Now I feel bad for even thinking about gambling for myself." She shook her head and pecked his cheek. "Who is this friend of yours, are they ok now?"
Damon sighed "Ashlynn?...the brain surgery?" He lay on the bed with her "Torch told me some...disturbing things."Ash smiled and looked around "where?..mum.."
James frowned "that's right, you've never met Demetri. He's fine, his dad came back and things went well."
Lexi sighed and shook her head, bookmarking the book and putting it on the side table. "No. They haven't called since saying that they checked her in." She said honestly. Then she looked over at him, "Oh, how so?"Dem sighed softly. "You're in the hospital Ash. You had to have surgery." He explained. "The family will come visit soon, as soon as you're allowed out of intensive care." He promised.
Emily nodded. "Came back... so... he left?" She asked, confused.
Damon took her hand "you tried to kill yourself?..." he whispered scared and shook his head "you would have left our kids?"Ash frowned and looked at the monitors scared and tried to take off the bandage "I want to go home..."
James sighed and shook his head "it's a long story...but it worked out. You'd like him and his adorable sisters."
Lexi paled a little and swallowed, looking down at her hands. "I wish he had not told you that." She whispered, closing her eyes to breathe for a moment before opening them again. Dem took her hands gently into his, "Hey, look at me Ash. They're going to help you. Help you get better. We can go home soon. I promise."
Emily nodded, smiling. "I'd love to meet them." She agreed, liking the sound of his friend and friend's siblings.
Damon shook his head "he needed to. You can't keep that in...you should have told me."Ash snuggled into his arms and shook her head "I want mummy..."
Liv came in with a pony stuffed animal "hey no tears...you're a brave girl."
James texted Demetri "come to dinner and meet my wife!"
Lexi bit her lip, still not looking at him. She suddenly felt very uncomfortable. "It's in the past. I didn't want to worry you." A lie. She didn't want to see the disapproval, hurt, and maybe even disgust she had been envisioning he would have when she told him. Dem smiled a little in thanks at the doctor and pointed at the pony she had brought in. "Look what you get Ash! Now I wish I had a surgery. So I could get one of those." He kissed her cheek. "You're such a brave girl, and you're going to get better." Dem's phone rang in his pocket, but he ignored it for the moment, trying to help Ash.
Emily smiled. "So... I suppose I should meet all your friends and family now, now that we are married?"
Damon sighed "at least my furry dog self could stop it...was I cute?" He wanted to change the energy she looked so upset.Liv smiled and messed with her drugs "these meds are going to make you sleepy but you'll feel much better when you wake up..."
Ash went right back to sleep curled to the pony.
James grinned and nodded "I want to meet yours as well."
Lexi nodded weakly, forcing a smile because he was trying so hard, but she really didn't feel like it. "Very cute." She replied, fiddling with her hands. She wanted to excuse herself before any tears fell, but couldn't think of an excuse that wouldn't sound fake. Dem sighed softly when Ashlynn fell asleep in his arms. "Sleep well." He whispered, still holding her. "Is she doing ok? Is she stable?" he asked the doctor.
Emily laughed softly. "I can try to arrange that. Thought that might be harder than meeting your family." She laughed softly.
Damon kissed her deeply and ran his hand through her hair "it's ok to cry...I'm sorry I left you..." "Liv nodded "she's doing really well, amazingly well. She shouldn't be awake this soon and she's talking and retaining memory." She sighed "I wish all surgeries go this well..."
James chuckled and nodded "they might be mad that there wasn't a wedding..."
Lexi couldnt hold it back any longer. She hugged him tight and let the long pent up tears fall. "It killed me when you left." She sobbed. "Dont ever do that again."Dem nodded, sighing in relief. "Thank you then. For all your help." He said seriously, his hand playing with Ash's hair.
Emily smiled a little sheepishly. "Do your type usually have them?" She asked.
Damon cradled her against his body and sighed kissing her hair and rubbing her arms trying to give her comfort "I'll do my best..." He promised and sighed feeling guilt eat at him.Liv nodded and held out a hand "I'm Olivia, Liv if you don't want to be smacked...call if you need anything, I have to head in for another surgery."
James chuckled and shook his head no "never, the entwining is our ceremony..."
Lexi nodded, just keeping her face buried against him, trying to stop the tears that still ran down her cheeks. "I love you Damon. I love you so much."Dem smiled weakly and shook her hand. "Ok. Liv." He agreed. "I'm Demetri, but everybody calls me Dem." He didn't know why he told her his name, but it just felt natural.
Emily laughed softly. "Then why would they be mad?" She asked.
Damon nodded kissing her head "I love you honey...let's go see how our baby girl is doing alright?"Liv smiled "mono syllabolic name as well, maybe you aren't so bad after all. Ill check in after my surgery." She promised and left.
James chuckled "I was referring to your family, I'd be kissed if I wasn't involved in my daughter's wedding. Isn't that a common human thing?"
Lexi nodded, wiping her eyes. "Yes. Let's." She agreed, looping her arm through his. Dem nodded, waving as she left. He smiled softly and held Ash's hand again. "Get better baby." he whispered. "I know you can."
(Emily told him that her family was in canada, right? Or is that another rp I'm thinking of...? :P))
Emily laughed softly and shrugged, "Yeah. I guess." She agreed, chewing at her lip.
Damon quickly flew down to Hell and went to the front desk "I want to see my daughter Ashlynn Sylver." ((That is correct :) ))
James smiled "it's cute when you are all embarrassed and sweet."
A nurse nodded and lead them both to Ashlynn and and Dem. Lexi gasped, running into the room. "Oh my sweet baby girl... Is she ok?"Dem looked up and smiled weakly. "The doctor said she would be..."
Emily blushed a little. "Stawp. You're going to melt me into a puddle."
Damon went to her side and stroke back her hair "has she been awake at all? What did the doctor say exactly? Where is he?"James kissed down her neck "you'd be a cute Popsicle puddle...I love you..."
Dem nodded. "She woke up for a few minutes asking for Lexi." he said. "She had a stroke, and needed surgery to stop the bleeding. But the doctor said she made an amazing recovery."Emily laughed softly, closing her eyes and shivering. "James...." she whispered. "I love you too."
Damon shook his head and sighed kissing Lexi's cheek, and stroke her soft hair "good, I want to talk to the doctor...how could a four year old get a stroke?"James held her close and kissed her deeply "I think that we need to celebrate..." He sighed texting Dem again.
Dem nodded, pressing the button to call the nurse. He checked his phone then, and texted James back. 'In hospital with Ash. She had a stroke.'Lexi sighed softly. "I don't know why she got it.. I put that shield up to protect her..."
Emily smiled, pecking his cheek. "I'm going to go pop some popcorn." She offered.
James was shocked and texted back "Em and I are coming. Are you ok?' He looked over at Emily "no popcorn love we need to head to the hospital..."Damon nodded and kissed her temple "it's not your fault...maybe it had nothing to do with the thoughts..."
Emily's eyes widened and she looked up, nervous. "Hospital?" She repeated. Dem sighed, texting back. 'I'm fine... I'll see you soon.'
Lexi bit her lip, shaking her head. "No. It must have been... I could have prevented this!"
Damon sighed "it's his baby sister...he's not, taking it well he needs me." He led her back down and to the waiting room.Damon took her out and hugged her tightly "shh Lex...it's not your fault...you can't think that, you know how Ash can sense feelings..."
Emily sucked in a breath when they reached hell and she swallowed, seeing Ash on the bed. "Oh my goodness."Dem looked up when James came in and smiled weakly. "Hey..."
Lexi hugged him tight, tense with fear. "I'm sorry. I... I can't help it." She shook her head.
James took his friends shoulder and squeezed it "hey...you need to step out, get some food just take a breath...Em and I can watch Ash..."Damon nodded "I know...I'm scared to...but Dem said the doctor said it went perfectly...I bet he's an amazing surgeon."
Dem sighed softly. "But... what if she wakes up?" He asked, rubbing his temples. "I have to be here..." He mumbled. Lexi sighed, shaking her head. "But I could have prevented this all together!" She said, leaning against him. "I could have kept this from happening..." She whispered.
James helped him up "come on...she'll yell at me if you don't take care of yourself. Ash terrifies me with her little fists of fury..." He led him out and to the eatery "sit.eat."Damon sighed "stop! Alexis! Stop now! This is not your fault. We are just grateful to have her here...ok?"
Dem grumbled a little but let himself be lead out to the eatery. He walked to the TimHortons and grabbed himself a bagel, eating a few bites. "Happy?" He asked James. Lexi sighed softly, her shoulders hunching a little. "Ok... Ok..." she breathed deeply a couple times and swallowed. "Just grateful to have her here." She repeated.
James smiled and nodded "yes. But seriously you are a mess...you need a break. I'm married by the way weird right?"Damon nodded "ready to go back? She wants her mom..."
Dem looked up, surprised. "Married?" He asked. His eyebrows rose. "So you finally got hitched." He teased. Lexi nodded, wiping her eyes and taking another couple deep breaths, trying to stand taller. "Yes. Let's go back in."
James nodded and pat his shoulder "she's great, she...just, I know we vowed to never get caught up in girls but...I don't know she thrills me."Liv was trying to grab food, she was in a hurry after surgery and was rushing To get back when she dumped her hamburger on his head.
Ash was waking up and looked around scared that she was alone.
Dem shook his head, smiling a little. "Yeah sure. Still don't see what's so great about girls." His eyes widened a little when something landed on his head, and he growled. "What the..." Spinning around. Then he raised one eyebrow. "You again? Well what the coincidence." Seemed she had an uncanny luck for frustrating him.
Lexi walked back into the room and smiled, seeing that Ash was awake. "Hey Ashlynn." She said, walking over. "How are you baby girl?"
Liv was going to apologize until she heard him growl and made her feel like a piece of gum under his shoe "it amazes me how you can take off the fake nice guy mask so quickly. That hamburger was delicious until it saw your face and turned to shit."Ashlynn reached out for Lexi "mummy..."
Dem laughed a sort of growl/laugh, as it was not happy at all. "Well I sincerely apologize your highness for being in the way of your burger which you just decided to throw."Lexi smiled and hugged her, running her fingers through her hair. "Baby girl..." She whispered.
Liv shook her head "you don't deserve to have a sister as sweet as her, I'm surprised you havent curupted her...because you are a jerk." She left quickly.James was in shock "what was that about?"
Ash snuggled in her arms and sighed happily gripping on to her shirt.
Dem snarled at her back, stung a little by her comment, but there was no way he'd let that show. He sighed when she was gone and looked at James. "That was the doctor. Such an angel, isn't she?"Lexi sighed softly, just holding Ash. "Are you feeling ok?" She asked gently, worried about her.
James smirked eating a French fry "you kind of started it...and she saves lives everyday, she's smarter than you does that intimidate you? Or her intense eyes above the surgical mask?" He joked.Ash nodded and held on tightly "I have a headache...and my head itches."
Dem looked indignant. "I started it!? Who's side are you on here? I wouldn't have gotten mad if she didn't dump her flipp'n burger on me, and probably on purpose!" He protested, huffing and leaning back in his chair. Lexi nodded, squeezing her hand. "You'll heal soon. I promise. You're such a brave brave girl."
Ash looked over at Em "hi..are you a nurse?" She didn't know why she was in the room.James snorted "wow...I don't think she did it on purpose, she looked pretty surprised until you barked at her...you hurt her feelings I think..."
Emily nodded, smiling a little. "I am. But I don't work here yet. I'm James's wife."Lexi's eyes widened. "Congrats!"
Dem rolled his eyes and huffed. "Oh yeah sure I did. She's just out to get me." He looked over at him. "What makes you against me all of a sudden?"
Damon shook her hand "we are like James' other parents it's nice that he found someone..."Ash smiled "can you get my brother a girl?"
James looked at him a little shocked "I'm not against you Demetrius!" He pointed to her over by herself, she looked pretty upset and tossed away her scrub cap revealing her dark long hair.
Emily blushed softly. "Thank you both." Then she laughed softly. "Your brother Demetri? Are you trying to set him up?"Dem looked over where he was pointing and watched for a moment, huffing softly. She did look upset, maybe a little... he got up, ignoring his hurting pride and walked over to her. "Uh...." he rubbed the back of his neck. "Im sorry for shouting at you..."
Liv was going back to the room, she heard him and hid behind the door. He was so sweet with her, maybe he wasn't the biggest jerk on earth.
James smiled "just like a human, it's just immensely quicker. About 3 months."
