McKensie and Lara

Mark sighed "I have every right to be..." He reminded and pecked her lips "well anything I can do right now?"
Mae held her close and stroke her hair, she had already called Lukas to come and take the body. They would have a funeral but right now Lexi didn't need his body in the house. "Come on...you need to eat something..."

Lexi didn't respond. She didn't want to do anything without Damon. She didn't want to do anything at all. She wished she had died with Damon. It would make things less painful.
Lukas took Damon's body to a chamber for those who were sleeping. That was the way it was with demons. No one knew what determined how long they slept. Some never woke. Some woke days later. It was better just to proclaim them as dead to keep the families and friends from getting false hopes.

Mark smiled and kissed the tip of her nose "want to go for a walk? Get out of the house and get moving? Fresh air might do you some good!"
Mae sighed and led her down the stairs, she made some warm soup and urged Lexi to eat "it's good I promise...honey you can't starve yourself..."
She brought a bowl over to the kids and Torch, she looked around confused "where's Ashlynn?"

London chuckled at his enthusiasm and nodded. "Sure. I could do with a walk." She agreed, heaving herself off the couch with a grunt. Already she was getting heavier.
Lexi sat at the table and sort of just stared at the food, lost in her own thoughts and emotions. She twirled the spoon in it and raised it to her lips a couple times, but never ate anything.
Dem smiled in thanks at Mae when she brought over soup for them. Then he sighed. "She's in the other room." He explained. "I think its best we give her some time."

Mark supported her back and carefully lifted her and chuckled lightly "you're not a bean pole anymore." He gestured and kissed her stomach "but I think you look hotter than ever!"
Mae sighed and sat by her carefully taking the spoon and bringing it to Lexi's lips "come on honey..." She said softly supporting her but also very worried about her and the kids.

London groaned. "Oh don't remind me. I know I'm getting fat." she joked, smiling. She leaned into his support and walked slowly towards the door. "and thanks darling. At least someone still does."
Lexi parted her lips and swallowed. She winced at some memory and stood. "I'm full. I think I'll be going to bed early tonight." She said, leaving the table and heading upstairs. She couldn't be around her family, not like this.

Mae sighed and stared at the full bowl of soup, she felt sick and she was sure it wasn't because of the baby. She felt like she was the one holding everyone up...it was difficult seeing her best friend like this.

((Probs a good time to bring in the puppy/damon soon to help with the mourning. Especially Ashlynn. I don't really want Lexi to die of starvation, lol))
Lexi went to the guest bedroom, not able to stay in her and Damon's room without her. Falling on the bed, she cried herself to sleep.
Torch and Dem finished eating, both silent. Torch helped clean up the dishes from supper, as Dem took Taylor to bed.

((That was my plan haha :) ))
Damon woke up and groaned, well whimpered. He frowned looking down at his large black paws, his senses were so magnified it was almost overwhelming! He wagged his tail and panted feeling pleased that he wasn't dead, he hurried as fast as his little paws would go, home home home!
Mae sighed and held Torch kissing his cheek, she wanted to stay there make sure that Lexi didn't do anything foolish. She hated being pregnant for once, this wasn't about her and yet she still had to focus and be cautious...

((lol great haha.))
Dem tucked Taylor in, who quickly fell asleep, exhausted from the emotional trauma. Going to the guest bedroom, he opened the door and looked at his mother, crying even in her sleep, and sighed, shutting the door again. Walking downstairs, he knocked on the door. "Ashlynn? Wanna let me in?" He asked.
Torch smiled and hugged her. "Hey Babe." He said, kissing her hair as he held her close. "You doing ok?" He was worried about her with the child and all.

Ashlynn sniffed and shook her head but opened the door anyways "I'm never leaving here.." She had a packet of saltines and three water bottles all set up for what she thought was going to be enough to live in there.
Damon ran into the screen door and groaned, he couldn't get in! He whimpered softly and started to howl, he thought of the girls and the strays they took in 'take me in!'
Mae sighed and nodded "the baby is fine..." She said softly and rested her head against his chest and finally allowed herself to cry and let out the pent up emotion.

Dem walked in and sat on the bed, pulling her onto his lap. "Oh honey, but then I couldn't see your pretty face all the time. We'd all miss you." he said, hugging her.
Taylor woke up to howling, and seeing that no one else was taking care of it, she wiped her red eyes and walked downstairs to check it out. Finding a little puppy, she smiled weakly and opened the door for it. "Hi puppy." She said softly, "You hungry?"
Torch held her against him as she cried, just stroking her hair and kissing her gently. He knew she needed to let it out, and he was there for her.

Ashlynn hugged him tightly and sniffed "but...I can imagine that daddy's just upstairs stll. That's it's me hiding and not him..." She whispered and nibbled on a cracker.
Damon barked lightly wagging his tail trying to be as cute as possible. When had Taylor grown up so quickly?

Dem sighed sadly. "I know it's hard Ash, but he is gone, and we can't change that. Hiding in this room wont bring him back, and the rest of us need you. We all need each other..."
Taylor smiled, scooping him into her arms. She walked into the kitchen and got out some of the cat food they had for the kittens. "Sorry puppy. This is all we have for now." She said, petting his black head. "I'm sure Mom will go groceryshopping again when she's done crying." She said bravely.

Ash sniffed and shook her head "I was mad before he left to go camping...it was stupid and I wish I could have said I loved him!"
Damon frowned and licked all over her face wanting her to smile again, his poor family...his poor Lexi!

Dem hugged her against him, kissing her cheek gently. "I'm sure he knows you love him." He promised. "We all loved him." He said, sighing softly. He had no time to actually mourn on his own, as he was too busy helping everyone else.
Taylor smiled weakly, hugging him. "You're cute." she said, kissing the top of his head. "I'm gonna name you Shadow." She said, stroking him.

Ashlynn looked up at him "your turn to cry Dem...I'll hug you and tell you it's ok..."
Damon wagged his tail and snuggled on her chest, Shadow was alright and he got to be with his family still! He was grateful for that...he jumped from her arms and went to the guest room and pulled at the blanket too small to get on the bed.

Dem looked down at her, a little surprised. But what could he say? No, I don't need to cry? That wasn't true, so he just hugged her tighter and let the tears fall.
Taylor followed him, biting her lip in nervousness as she looked at Lexi, still crying softly on the bed. She shook her head, not wanting to venture into the room. "Come out of there Shadow. We better not bother my Mom, she's not feeling well." She whispered at him.

Ashlynn rubbed his back and held him close "it's ok Dem..." She said softly and just let him cry. Knowing what people were thinking and understanding them completely gave her a sense of maturity for someone so small.
Damon was not giving up, he used his teeth to club up and panted reaching the top, he whimpered seeing her tearful helpless face and licked her softly and nuzzled her.

Dem let himself mourn his father's memory, mourn how he could not save him in time, mourn how it was his fault that he was dead. He didn't mind that his little sister was comforting him. They needed eachother, and he knew that.
Lexi saw the puppy, but didn't react much, her eyes still dull and lifeless. She just closed them, causing tears to run down her cheeks and turned over.

Ash sighed reading his thoughts "not your fault..." She promised and sighed, she hugged him tighter thinking that she could have lost him too.
Damon nuzzled her trying to be of any comfort, he licked her face and whimpered softly 'Lexi please...'

Dem was a little surprised at her comment, until he remembered her powers again and he smiled weakly, nodding. "Thanks." He whispered, just hugging her.
Lexi winced, opening her eyes. "Puppy!" She moaned. "Why wont you leave me alone?" She asked, her fingers absentmindedly stroking one of his ears. "I don't want to see anyone right now..."

Ash nodded and smiled "love you Dem..."
Damon wagged his tail and kept licking her face, she was starting to like him and it made his whole body wiggle with excitement.

London nodded. "Quite alright." She promised. "Just tired and a little cold...." she admitted, shrugging.
Dem smiled softly, kissing her cheek as he wiped his eyes. "Love you too." He whispered.
Lexi sighed, moving her face away. Since he was just a dog, she felt like she could talk to him. "Im all alone in this world. You know that?" She said softly, petting his head. "You're a dog. So you probably wont understand any of this, but I have to tell someone." She said softly. "My love died. Leaving me alone in this world." She whispered. "You dont know how empty I feel without him." She closed her eyes and heaved a breath. "And everyone is trying so hard for me, and I see it. But im just too.... broken." She whispered. "I wish I would just die. Then I could join him."

Mark rubbed her arms and put his jacket around her shoulders and helped her up "let's head home then...get you and the baby warm..." He kissed her cheek and squeezed her hand "you'd tell me if you felt pain right?"
Ash stood and pulled him out of the room with her "mum needs us...come on."
Damon felt like his heart would break, she couldn't leave the family he wasn't dead! How could he comfort her...he put his little paws on her chest and looked deep into her eyes trying to get the message to her.

London wrapped her arms around herself, thankful for his jacket. It was so cold.... "sounds like a good idea." She agreed. "And of course I would! I would probably start shouting at you to help fix it." She teased.
Dem raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" He asked, following her.
Lexi smiled weakly, wondering briefly if the puppy did understand, before she pushed it away as absurd. "Glad to know someone still cares." She whispered, sighing. A tear rolled down her cheek and she closed her eyes again, tucking the blankets higher around herself. Her mind only thought dark thoughts. "You know what's strange?" She whispered. "Cutting sounds like a lovely idea right now." She said, sighing.

Mark chuckled and shook his head "it's just we don't know when the baby is coming and I don't want to be caught unprepared!" He led her up the apartment stairs and back into their warm appartmenf.
Ash shook her head and moved quickly to the guest room "mommy don't!" She begged.
Damon was tugging at her and whimpering hating that idea, oh Lexi...please I love you so much!"

London smiled, noddingas they walked upstairs and into the apartment. She sighed when they were in the warmth again. "I know." She agreed. "But right now, I think im ok for a good bit longer."
Dem bit his lip when he heard his mother whisper. He hated that he couldnt make her feel better. "Mom, please. We need you still."
Lexi hid her emotions deep inside and put on a smile for her kids, wondering why the dog was acting so strange.... "hey Ashlynn. Dem. You guys ok?"

Mark sighed in relief "good...the nursery isn't even close to being done...we need to get clothes and such right?" He asked almost hurriedly. He sat on
the couch trying to relax again.
Ashlynn took away the knife from the drawer and swallowed throwing it out into the garden. She hated seeing those visuals and taking in her pain "mommy...please..." She whispered not knowing how to help.
Damon snuggled under her chin like he did when he was in human form, oh how he wished she'd understand him...

Dem was horrified when he saw the knife, and he swallowed. He knew his mom wad broken, but he didnt think she was hurting that deeply.
Lexi smiled weakly, her hand gently stroking the puppy and had curled up by her. "Its ok guys. Im not suicidal. Ill still be here for you three, I promise." She meant every word. But she also knew that she had a scarring pain deep in her heart, and that was something she couldnt escape
Dem nodded, sighing. He knew there was not much else he could do for her. "Come on Ash, its way past your bedtime."

Ash just stared at her feeling like she couldn't really do anything to help, and yet she had to endure feeling and seeing her mother's pain. She shook her head and took Dem's hand as he led her out.
Damon licked her hand and nuzzled, it was nice to be petted fur felt wonderful but he would have chosen a dog a lot bigger!

Dem lead her to her and Taylor's room, and tucked her into the bed beside her already sleeping sister. "We'll do some fun things tomorrow, ok? I promise. I'll take you two out for lunch or something." He said, kissing her forehead. "G'night Ashlynn."
Lexi sighed when they were gone, tucking her face into the pillow. "Why?" She asked no one in particular. She hated seeing her kids cry. She hated that they saw her cry. She wiped at her tears furiously. "Why Damon!? Why did you leave me alone!?" She sobbed, hiding her face in the sheets.

Ash sighed and hugged him "night Dem...love you..." She whispered before pulling the covers up and tucking in.
Damon whimpered and pawed at her gently, he nuzzled his way in so that he was facing her and licked softly and rubbed his little head against her face 'I'm right here! Please I love you...'

Dem smiled and flicked out the lights. "Love you too." He whispered, leaving the room again before going to his own bedroom.
Lexi groaned and pushed his head away, wiping her cheek. "Dog slobber..." She shook her head, eyeing the dog. "What is with you? Why do you keep this up? You hungry or something?" She asked, not really expecting a response.

Damon frowned, he didn't like to be pushed away...how could he show her it was him? Or at least make her like him again. He lay down putting his head on his paws his ears drooping sadly, he just watched her not wanting to be in her way but not leaving her side.

Lexi raised an eyebrow. "Oh now I offended you? You act more human than a dog should you know. It might get you into trouble." she said, smiling a little, only for a second, but it was her first real smile in a while.

Damon raised his head up a little and then slowly wiggled his tail not quite so hyper, he was grateful for that smile. If he could keep that on her face he knew he was still doing his job.

Lexi sighed softly, "Yeah. Ok. Don't get too comfy here ok? I'm sure someone's looking for you." She said seriously, scooping him up and sucking him against her, before pulling the blanket over them both. "But for now, you can sleep here. It's warmer under the covers." She said, closing her eyes.

Mark nodded and quickly grabbed a larger over coat for London, gloves and a hat. He bundled her up then threw on his coat and grabbed the keys to the car. It was far too cold to fly!
Mae remembered that Zach was home by himself, she tugged at Torch "baby wake up...Zach is home alone..." She whispered since the whole house was sleeping.
Damon loved feeling her warmth against him and snuggled up walking around on her chest before laying down and closing his little eyes.

London let him get her all wrapped up and in the car. She sat nervously twiddling her fingers inside the gloves for the whole drive, anxious to see how James was doing.
Torch stirred and groaned, opening his eyes slowly. "Zach... Zach?" He mumbled. "Zach! Oh my gosh. Ok. Let's go." He said, getting up quickly.
Lexi slept peacefully for a couple hours, until her dreams moved to the crash. She saw vividly, a car swerving off the road, Damon flying through the windsheild. She saw herself and him in the hospital. She saw him dying. Lexi jerked, tears streaming down her face, a scream frozen on her lips. "It wasn't a dream..." She sobbed. "It wasn't a dream...."

Mark parked and helped her out leading her to his room, he smiled giving a wave "you look good!" He said honestly and smiled at Emily "I don't believe we have met, im Mark the best friend and the father of this baby." He chuckled and rubbed the stomach.
Mae nodded and got into the car, she frowned the roads were blocked from the storm that was rolling in. She looked over at Torch "maybe the long way?..." The snow was coming down hard.
Damon yelped and whimpered he licked her hand and scooted himself under her hand so that she would pet him for comfort.

London hobbled to James, hugging him. "You're alive!" She cried. "You're alive and ok! Well thanks for calling and saving me from stressing a whole night long." She said sarcastically.
Torch sighed. "Walk?" He asked, huffing. "Come on, we better get started." He bundled up in the clothes he had brought and made sure Mae was warmly dressed before venturing out into the storm.
Lexi was sobbing, her whole body shaking. She hugged the small black puppy for comfort, but after a couple seconds found that that did not even relieve the pain. "I'm sorry puppy. This isn't your fault." She stammered, getting out of bed and hobbling to the bathroom. She rummaged around in the drawers, trying to find a pair of scissors, or a razor blade.

Mae sighed and started to walk with him, the cold felt like it was eating at her skin, she shivered bundling by Torch trying to keep the baby warm "should've brought the car..." She chattered blocking her face from the wind.
Damon quickly jumped off the bed he pulled at her pant leg until she dropped the razor. He picked it up and ran off with it trying to think if somewhere to hide it.

Torch bit his lip. "Almost there baby." He promised, walking with his arms wrapped around her until they had trudged all the way to their house. Pushing the door open, he moved her inside. "Zach?" He called.
Lexi frowned, chasing after him. "Give that back!" She called, but not able to keep up with him because she was weak and couldn't see through her tears, she sighed and just slumped down against the wall. "What's the point in living if you're not here with me?" She asked softly, closing her eyes.

Zach flew in tackling them in a hug "I've been waiting all night!" He let go because the snow was cold and frowned "it wasn't snowing before..." He remarked and Mae just felt freezing like her entire body was ice "I think I need to lie down..."
Damon got rid of the razor and rushed back jumping on her lap and whimpering. His eyes were big and sorrowful and he howled softly nuzzling her 'please Lex...I'm here!'

Torch hugged him tight. "Sorry bud. We were just checking on Lexi and her family." He said, turning when Mae said she had to lie down. "Mae... we better get you by the fire." he said, ushering her in. He sat her down gently on the carpet in front of the fire and threw a couple more logs in, before wrapping his arms around her. "Are you feeling ok? Is there anything I can do to help?"
Lexi turned her face a little, but other than that did not respond to the puppy howling at her. She had lost the will to live. She let herself sink deep within herself, trying to hide from the pain that continuously attacked her heart.

Mae leaned into his arms and winced feeling more cold internally but she could still feel the heat on her arms and face "the baby..." She started "is freezing me..."
Damon didn't know what to do anymore he got off her lap and wandered off, he obviously couldn't help...it hurt not being able to talk to and save his wife...

Torch's eyebrows raised in surprise. "What? Freezing?" He asked, trying to understand. How could the baby have cold powers....? He sure didn't have them. "What... what should I do?"
Lexi slumped down to the floor as her body relaxed, her spirit retreating far back into herself. Even now it was growing weaker, not clinging to life anymore.
Lexi's hand wavered and sank away from his body as she turned towards Mae and just sobbed, her whole body trembling. She knew he was gone, in the back of her mind, but she just didn't want to admit it. She didn't want it to be true.
Dem sighed, knowing it was best to give her some time. He instead hugged Taylor and rocked her as she was still crying into his shirt.
