McKensie and Lara

Mark smiled "we'll know when we hold her..." He assured and ran his hands down her waist.
Zach frowned "girls are yucky!"
Damon chuckled "call your mother, she's worried sick."

London nodded, smiling. She sighed happily and relaxed in his arms. "I hope you're right." She whispered.
Torch grinned. "You might change your mind in a bit. You never know."
Dem nodded, dailing up Lexi. "Mom?"
"Dem!" Lexi cried, "I've been worried sick! Where are you? What on earth is going on? Are you both alive? Well? Doing ok? Put me on speakerphone, your father better know that he has me on end." She said in the phone loud enough that speaker was no necessary for her to be heard for miles around.

Mark smiled and rubbed her stressed shoulders, he nibbled her ear and smiled "do you feel anything? Is she kicking or moving?"
Zach frowned "nuh uh! I'm not brainwashed like you and James!"
Damon rolled his eyes and took a deep breath "Lexi chill. I'm serious, we are fine we just got back from rafting."

London smiled, taking his hand gently in her own and moving it to her stomach. She closed her eyes and focused on the faint kicks and the feeling of her love's hand on her stomach.
Torch laughed and threw him up in the air, catching him again. "Not yet you aren't."
Lexi paused as she smiled over the phone. "Sounds like fun. Well. I'm glad you're alive. I love you both and miss you lots."

Mark grinned and closed his eyes feeling his daughter "how amazing is that?..."
Zach laughed and pat his face "you all are crazy!"
Damon smiled "how are the girls doing? Not having anymore sugar right?"

London smiled, tipping her head back to kiss his chin. "Amazing." She agreed, smiling happily. She was right where she wanted to be.
Torch shook his head, sitting down on the couch with him. "Hows school going little guy?" He asked. "First grade, right?"
Lexi grinned, shaking her head. "No more sugar, thankfully. But I don't know if you'll like the stray kittens the girls have gotten attached to. We currently have four new family members. I'll have to find homes for them all... but I might need help explaining to them that they don't get two kittens each."

Mark nodded "you know...this is the best thing that could happen...we made a little girl and you both are healthy!"
Zach made a face and shook his head "second! I'm big dad!" He argued and showed him the book that he was working on to read.
Damon groaned and hit his head against the steering wheel doing so caused the wheel to turn and the truck dove off into a ditch, the raft went flying and the line went dead.

London nodded, smiling in pure joy. "I couldn't be happier..." Then she thought of something. "Actually, I could. Could we be bonded?" She asked hopefully.
Torch huffed. "Man you grow up fast!" He exclaimed, looking at the book. "Wow, you're really reading that? You're brilliant!"
Lexi frowned in worry when the line went dead, but she figured they just lost connection. "I'll call them back in a bit, when they've gotten back to camp." She mused.
When the truck had swerved, Dem had been lurched to the side and his head had cracked against the window, knocking him unconscious.

Zach frowned and shook his head "I'm behind actually...teacher said that I don't try hard enough..."
The truck had completely flipped trapping them, Damon was through the windshield unconscious. The phone had dropped from his hand breaking.

Torch raised an eyebrow. Yup. Trouble maker. "And why exactly don't you try young man?" He asked.
Dem woke up a few minutes later, groaning and looking around. He was hanging from the ceiling by his seat belt... or was he really hanging from the ground and they were just upside down? The world was spinning as he had gotten a mild concussion, blood on the window where his head hit. He unbuckled himself, crawling slowly to the door as he tried to get out of the crushed car.

Zach shrugged his shoulder lightly "I can't see the board...I get headaches, but everyone just says I'm stupid."
Damon's waist was cut through the midsection by the windshield. He was limp and the shards cut all over his skin.

Torch frowned a little. "Can't see the board?" He repeated. "Do you have trouble seeing things that are far away?" He asked.
Dem managed to get the door open and rolled out of the car, groaning. He walked around the front and just about threw up in shock when he saw his father. "Dad..." he moaned. "Please don't be dead." He moved up to him and slowly eased him out of the windshield and onto the ground, checking for a pulse.

Zach nodded "yeah...that's when I found out about the flying books...."
Damon groaned his head turning to the side blood drooled down the side of his mouth "...Lex"

Torch frowned in thought. "You may need glasses Zach." He pointed out. "if you're having trouble seeing, that might be the problem."
Dem bit his lip, his eyes flooding with tears as he hugged his father. "Why can't I have a useful power? Like healing?" He moaned holding his hand. "Don't die on me. Please. Please. You have to live." he murmured, closing his eyes to contact Lexi. Mom. We need you. Dad's dying.
Lexi just about had a heart attack when she got that message, anger and fear attacking her at once. "Who did this!?" She cried, not realizing at first that it had been a mental message. And when she did, fear clutched her heart and she swooped into the air. Anne! Watch the kids please! I have no time to spare! She flew off, following Dem's energy trace to the crash site. And when she saw Damon on the ground, she almost passed out as she landed, running over to them. "Damon..." she moaned, inspecting the wound. It made her sick to her stomach and she quickly looked away. "Baby please don't leave me. I'm not ready to be alone." She whispered, scooping him into her arms as she tried to take off to carry him to a hospital. Dem helped her lift him.
((g2g sorry :/))

Zach frowned "but no one in my class wears glasses...they'll make fun of me!"
Ashlynn frowned not knowing why her mom left so quickly, she seemed scared and that scared her. She snuggled the little black kitten and watched Taylor "what are you going to name your kitty?"
Damon was immediately taken to surgery, he had tried to talk to Dem and Lex while they flew but lost conciousness when they arrived.
The nurse took Demetri too, it was hard for her to fix up his head since he was moving around worried about his dad. "Son, you are severely injured...please let us help."

Torch smiled gently. "No they wouldn't. And if they did, you dont habe to pay attention to that. They're all just jealous of everyone else. I would try a spell on you, but more often than not, those have disadvantages. "
Taylor was hugging a small orange cat for comfort. She was older, so she felt like she was supposed to be brave, but she didnt feel brave. "Jackolantern." She said softly. "Cause he's orange."
Lexi had slumped in a waiting room chair, not being allowed in with Damon. She cried quietly in her hands, shaking with anxiety. "Please... please..." she mumbled.
Dem shook his head, trying to stand up. "No. Im fine. I have to go see my mother and father, make sure they're alright! " he protested, trying to walk out.

Zach bit at his lip and sighed "I don't want them..." He said softly staring at his feet.
Ashlynn gave a smile "you should shorten that to Jack!" She looked over at Anne "when is Mommy and Daddy coming home?"
The nurse had to inject a sedation that wouldn't knock him out just make him drowsy. The doctors worked on removing the glass from the gaping wound on the side of his head.

Torch felt badly for his son, but what else could they do? "You might need them Zach. But I'll see what I can do to get around it, ok?"
Anne looked up from the newspaper she was reading and smiled kindly. "I'm sure they'll be home soon."
Dem had slumped in the chair, looking rather glum as he sat through them patching up his head. "Where's my father?" He asked, his words sort of slurred.

Zach sighed and nodded "it'll cost too much money...mommy's having a baby!"
Ashlynn sighed and dangled some yarn for the kittens, she had a bad feeling she was definitely her daddy's little girl and something didn't feel right.
The nurse sighed "in surgery honey, they are working really hard to save your dad ok? You both are lucky to be alive."

Torch was not able to argue with that. "Everything will work out, I promise." he said, ruffling his hair.
Taylor looked at her sister, and paused, before blurting. "Do you think Mom and Dad are ok?" She asked, nervous.
Dem nodded, weakly, his eyes closing. The sedative helped make him very very sleepy.
In the waiting room, Lexi had leaned back against the wall and just let the tears run down her cheeks until she had none left. She just sat there now, trying to breathe through the pain in her heart. I can't lose him, I can't.

Zach sighed "too expensive...I'll squint or something." He got up off the couch and grabbed a fruit snack packet.
Ashlynn shook her head "no...I can't feel daddy,..." She said quietly and watched her big sister.
The nurses got him into a room and allowed Lexi to stay with him so she didn't have to sit in the waiting room anxiously.

Torch huffed and plopped down on the couch. "Zach, I just want your success. I hate to see you doing poorly. Especially if it is something we can fix."
Taylor looked down, biting her lip. "Oh." She said softly, shaking her head. "I'm worried about them..."
Lexi practically ran in, as white as a sheet, and she hurried to Damon's side, scooping up his hand. "Baby..." She mumbled, kneeling by his bed. "Please be ok..."

Zach sighed and nodded "I don't want to let you down dad..." He said honestly and rubbed his eyes. He made the snacks float and ate it in midair.
Ashlynn nodded and hugged her "Anne can we go see mom and dad?"
Damon was intubated breathing with the help of the machine, he midsection was bandaged and splinted.
The nurse watched her and sighed "there's not much of a chance..." She admitted quietly.

Torch smiled a little. "I know you don't. And that's what matters." He said, watching him heat the snacks. "But seriously. Leave some of those for me, ok?"
Anne nodded. "I can see if that would be alright." She agreed, trying to find their signatures. When she found that they were at the hospital, she bit her lip. "On second thought, maybe it is better for you two to get to bed early, so we can go see them early tomorrow"
Lexi nodded, her gut being plunged in frigid ice. "Please give me some time with him." She asked softly, laying her head by his side. She clung to his hand and just sobbed, not ready to say goodbye.

Zach laughed and started to move the snacks into his dad's mouth. "You eat too much anyways!"
Ashlynn nodded and picked up the basket of kittens and went upstairs to the room they shared. She closed the door and faced Taylor "now I know something is wrong."
The nurse let them alone feeling bad for the family, she went to check on the boy.

Torch grinned and swallowed them down. "Hey! Don't you dare! I don't eat that much. Not as much as you!"
Taylor nodded, looking rather nervous. "What do you think is wrong?" She asked softly, worried about their parents.
Dem was sleeping in the other room, exhausted emotionally and physically from the crash. But his dreams weren't happy, they left him muttering and shifting restlessly.

Zach shook his head "nuh uh! You eat Uncle Damon's food too! I just eat what mom makes me!"
Ashlynn shook her head "I don't know...maybe I can control Anne's mind to have her take us to them!"

Torch shrugged. "What can I say? I have a big stomach." He shrugged. "You'll probably get older and eat everything too kid."
Taylor frowned a little. "But Dad said that wasn't right...." She reminded.
When the nurse came in again, Lexi had dried her eyes and looked somewhat normal again, except for the fact that if you looked close enough, you could see that she looked sort of dead to the world, dried up and reserved within. "Is there nothing we can do for him?" She asked softly.

Zach smirked and shook his head "nah!" He sighed rubbing his eyes "would glasses really help?"
Ashlynn frowned "dad might be hurt! I think I'll be forgiven!" She opened the door and attached to Anne's mind "drive us to my mom and dad."
The nurse gave a small smile "there is always a chance...we are doing everything we can...the surgery was successful but there was so much damage..."

Torch nodded honestly. "They probably really would." He assured.
Anne got up and drove them as they asked, not knowing what she was doing. Taylor just followed slowly, not sure what to do.
Lexi nodded slowly, looking back at Damon. "So hes dying." She said softly, as if finally admitting what she dreaded.

Zach bit at his lip and then sighed nodding "ok...but they still cost a lot of money!"
Ashlynn had Anne wait as she controlled a nurse to take her to see her brother first. When they arrived she jumped on his bed "Dem!"
The nurse nodded slowly "I'm afraid so...right now we are just keeping him comfortable."

Torch smiled, glad he gave in. "I'll cover it, don't worry kid. Just pick a day when you want to go see the eye doctor, ok? They need to decide what type of glasses you would need."
Taylor followed her sister and paled when she saw their big brother. She ran up, climbing on the bed after Ashlynn. "What happened to him?" She asked, watching Dem sleep.
Lexi nodded, looking rather small, like she wished she would sink through the floor. "Then... then I'd like to take him home, please." She said softly. "If there's nothing more you can do... I think he would like that better." she said, her voice soft.

Zach shrugged "Friday is a half day of school...I guess that would work." He didn't know his own schedule that well, Mae took care of that.
Ashlynn shook her head and lay her head by his, she gently put a finger on his forehead and closed her eyes and winced back when she saw the crash.
The nurse sighed and nodded "we can have someone from hospice come to take care of things...I am sorry."

Torch nodded. "Great. I'll pick you up at lunch then and we can head out?" He offered.
Taylor watched her, chewing her lip in nervousness. When Ashlynn winced, she straightened a little. "What? What happened?"
Lexi nodded, but knew she wouldn't stay around for the paper work. They weren't on the records after all. "Thank you." She whispered, moving over to Damon. She gently pulled away all the tubes and wires. "Goodbye baby." She whispered, the words choking in her throat.
Brushing her fingers over his cheek gently, she lifted him carefully in her arms and flew them both back to their house. Laying him down gently on their bed, she tucked him in and then crawled under the covers beside him, curling up against him and closed her eyes.

Zach nodded and hugged him "thanks dad..." He looked up when he saw Mae come in and ran off to go play.
Ashlynn started to cry not bring able to get the images out of her head "there was a car wreck...daddy was dying..." She whispered not being able to truly comprehend it.
((Oh the feels!!! :'( cue the violins!))

Torch smiled when Mae came in and immediately went over to hug her. "Hey darling. How are you feeling?" he asked, his hand moving to her stomach.
Taylor knew Ashlynn needed to be comforted, so she hugged her little sister close. "It'll... It'll be ok..." She stammered, not so sure anymore.
((*wipes tears*..... :( so. the big question. Is Damon gone forever?))

Mark chuckled and nipped on her finger and lay back watching the movie "these all just have the same plot to me..." He mumbled and ate a brownie.
Mae had tears filling her eyes and shook her head "Torch...I got a message from Lexi..." She whispered knowing how it was going to affect him.
Ashlynn tears woke up Demetri and she sniffed "sorry Dem..."

London laughed, "Oh hush. Just because they end the same doesn't mean they are the same!" She said, stealing some popcorn from his bowl.
Torch tensed a little, knowing it wasn't going to be good news. "What happened?" He asked softly, his mouth going dry.
Dem groaned softly and looked around. His head was pounding, but he was feeling a little less dizzy. He smiled a little when he saw his sisters, and he drew them both into his arms. "Love you girls." He said gently, hugging them.

Mark protested "hey hey! Just because you are all of yours does not mean you can eat mine!" He teased and nudged her giving her the bowl.
Mae shook her head and just held onto him "there was an accident..."
Ashlynn held onto him close "daddy's going to die...isn't he..." She whispered and buried her face in his chest.

London giggled and took a popcorn kernel, feeding it to him before she ate another one herself. "You don't need them. You'll get fat." She teased.
Torch paled a little, his hands curling tighter around a bit of her shirt he was holding. "Damon...?" he asked softly.
Dem sighed softly, stroking her hair. "He might." he admitted, and forced a smile for them. "But I'm sure it will be alright. We're going to be ok." He promised.
Taylor burst out crying and curled up beside Dem, her small body shaking.
Back at home, Lexi had not moved in hours. She was not eating, or sleeping, or doing anything really. She just stayed there, curled against Damon's body, her grief caging her deep in the coldest corner of herself.

Mark chuckled and pat his perfectly toned stomach "oh indeed I'm on the edge of nearly being obese!"
Mae shook her head and swallowed "Lexi took him off the machines...he's at home with her..." She said quietly and hugged him tighter "I'm so sorry..."
Ashlynn swallowed and just held onto him "stay at home...Mommy is going to need all of us..." She whispered trying to see the realistic side of things trying to block out the pain.

London giggled and traced circles on his stomach, "Mhm. Which is why I get the popcorn." She said, giving him another piece."
Torch's breathing grew heavy and he slumped a little, needing Mae's support to stand. "No... not again..." he whispered.
Dem nodded, admiring her bravery. "I will kid, don't worry. I'm not leaving you guys, not now." He knew he would have to be the head of the family for a while as his mother and siblings recovered.

Mae couldn't hold him up easily with her pregnant stomach and helped him to the couch and just held him letting him grieve and cry if he needed. "I think it's going to be hard to get Lexi away from him..."
Ashlynn swallowed wishing this was a dream and they would wake up and everything would be ok...she finally allowed herself to really cry her shoulders shaking. Her dad was her best friend.

Torch hugged her, but didn't cry. He was too stricken to cry. He just nodded numbly, not really responding for a while. When he finally spoke, it was soft. "I guess we should check on them?"
Dem sighed and pulled both girls close to him, holding them tight and letting them cry. He whispered soothingly to them, even though he knew it would not do much good.

Mae nodded and helped him up, they slowly flew to the house. Even outside the house felt desolate. Mae walked in and shut the curtains and covered the mirrors before heading up to the room "Lex?..."
Ashlynn swallowed and sat up "we should go home..."

Torch looked around and found he couldn't look at anything without feeling a pang of grief. He didn't even go to the fridge, he just sat on the couch, not able to follow up the steps.
Lexi didn't open her eyes, she just stayed where she was, her hand curling a little tighter around Damon's. "Leave me alone." She whispered.
Dem nodded, pulling the IV out of his wrist. "I agree." He said, scooping them up and leaving the hospital. Finding he couldn't fly, as he was so dizzy, he started the walk back home.

Mae sighed feeling sick, she carefully pulled her away and just hugged her tucking her into her arms like a child "honey...that isn't Damon anymore..." She whispered and sighed.
Ashlynn and Taylor helped him stay upright as they walked back home. She swallowed seeing the curtains drawn "I don't want to see him..."

Lexi was too weak to struggle, having not taken care of herself. She just reached for Damon weakly, refusing to believe that. "That's not true. Just leave me with him, please. He's going to wake up. He's going to wake up..." she insisted, tears forming in her eyes again.
Dem sighed softly, walking into the house. "We'll have to face the facts some time or other Ashlynn, I'm sorry." He whispered, seeing Torch on the couch, just sort of staring. "Is Mae with Lexi?" he asked.
Torch just nodded slowly.

Mae swallowed filling the tears stream down her cheeks "Lexi he's gone...we need to take care of the body...honey you can't live like this, what about the girls?..."
Ashlynn ran into the downstairs guest room and slammed the door locking it as she sunk to the floor and cried. She never wanted to go upstairs again...
London shivered, tipping her head a little. "I like both those as well. How ever shall we choose?" She asked softly.
Torch shook his head, chuckling. "Well aren't you a regular trouble maker. You're going to break a lot of hearts some day..." he said, smiling.
Dem nodded. "Yeah, got it." He said, hopping in the back, being careful to sit on the towels.
