Mark didn't have any idea that Damon would be there and froze.Damon chased after him "Demetri! Please wait!"
Mika was watching and couldn't believe what he was seeing, he slowly wrapped up his mother's wrist and shook his head "what are you?..."
London sucked in a gasp and moved closer to Mark, gently taking his hand. Dem spun. "Why?" He snapped. "Why shouldn't I just leave like you did? You abandoned us to fend for ourselves!" He growled, his teeth grinding together.
Lexi waited until the baby seemed satisfied, and she wasn't to weak, to pull her wrist away from the small mouth and let it heal. "Vampires." She whispered softly. She didn't look at him.
Mark frowned and kissed her cheek "I didn't mean for the drama..."Damon swallowed and sighed "I know, I'm sorry...I lost if! The breakup was bad for both of us but that's no excuse...I want to be here for you and Taylor..."
Mika swallowed and handed her a blood packet "Lexi...I'm sorry.."
London nodded, hugging him. "Let's just... go get a snack..." She whispered. Dem's eyes narrowed as he tried to figure out whether or not he should forgive his father. He shook his head. "You made your daughter cry." he hissed. "Yeah. I get it. No one cares about me. I can take care of myself, right?" He asked bitterly. "But you should still feel bad for abandoning your daughter with no word at all. Did you even care if she survived or not?" He asked.
Lexi was on the verge of crying. "No... I'm sorry for not telling you... and I'm sorry about your mother, and this little girl's behavior." She bit her lip, taking the bag and drinking from it slowly.
Mark went to the fridge and grabbed two bottles of pop for them and popped off the caps with the bottle opener handing it to her.Damon looked at him and swallowed shaking his head "I care immensely about you and Taylor, I made sure Torch and Mae were looking over you! All I could think of was my kids...Dem, I hate to think that you think I don't care about you...I do, I worry and stress and beam at everything you accomplish! I have always thought I wasn't the right one to be your dad...that I'm not good enough..."
Mika sighed and sat on the bed with her and gently dried her tears caressing her face. "I care a lot about you...but I don't know if I could handle something like this...I wish I could say that I could because I am very attracted to you and want us to be something...but...I can't."
London smiled, taking one, and then sipping from it. "Thanks." She said, giving him a quick hug. Dem just stood there, not quite sure what to say. His father did care about them? Actually knew they existed? And then Dem found he was crying. He was ashamed of it, but he was. He ran over to Damon and hugged him. "You left. You left and I had to explain to Taylor that you weren't going to be coming back." He said, crying quietly. "I had to explain why we didn't have parents anymore."
Lexi nodded, her heart aching. She couldn't expect anything else. Demons and angels wouldn't ever love a monster, and know she knew humans wouldn't either. It hurt her to know she wouldn't ever find anyone to love her. She leaned against him, closing her eyes. "It's ok Mika. I understand." Was all she said. She accepted it. She understood she was never meant to be with anyone.

Mark kissed her cheek "you were a little speedster out there!"Damon hugged him tightly, he hadn't hugged his son in a very long time. He ran his hand through his course hair "I'm back...I'm not going anywhere..." He promised and sighed "where is she now?"
Mika leaned down and kissed her lips softly and squeezed her hand before heading to see if his mother was doing alright.
The baby latched onto Lexi and started to bite again so hungry.
London flushed, smiling brightly. "Thanks for making those hoops!"Dem hugged him tight, feeling much better. His father was back and here to stay! He pulled away then and sighed, smiling softly. " Taylor is at the Milton's. I don't know where mom is."
Lexi let him kiss her, smiling sadly as she watched him leave. "Ah ah ah, little girl, that isn't polite." She told the baby. She poured some of her blood bag into a bottle, and pulling the girl away from her, put the bottle in her mouth. "I'm going to name you Ashlynn."
Mark flushed equally as red "James would have done a better job...speaking of which where is that loser?"Damon sighed "mom is in England, she told me to never come back and it all spun out of line...we broke up, but I'm sure she still wants to see you!"
Ashlynn sucked on the bottle happily, she had grey molton eyes and dark hair. She yawned sweetly and snuggled in her mother's chest 'happy' she sent to Lexi.
London laughed, "oh I don't know. Ice and fire.... You guys make quite the pair." She shook her head. "But right now he's out gambling."Dem nodded slowly, looking down, he hated that his mom wasn't going to come back. "Ok." He whispered, biting his lip.
Lexi smiled, holding her close. "Love you baby girl." She whispered. "What do to say we travel the world? There's nothing left for us here." She stood quietly and changed, packing blood bags and baby blankets, before taking to the skies, Ashlynn tucked close in her arms.
Mark raised an eye brow definitely not expecting that answer "do I ask why?"Damon pat his head and smiled "I think it'll work out just fine....now how's that training coming?"
Ashlynn looked around at the sky and world below and was mystified by it all, she brought her thumb to her mouth and sucked on it.
London laughed at his shocked expression. "He is raising money for Dem's house." She explained. Dem nodded slowly, not quite sure that it would. But he shrugged, "Fine. It's just work I suppose... trying to get better at all the skills."
Lexi smiled softly, figuring she should try and stop by Mae's before she travelled just to let her friend know she was alright. She changed her course to cross the ocean, picking up speed until she was flying as fast as her wings would carry her. She landed gracefully in Mae's backyard, tucking Ashlynn close to her as she walked up to the door. She knocked hesitantly, "Mae?"
Mark nodded "oh right! I gave him a 100...I wish I could help more he's determined...wish someone could just take care of him..."Damon nodded "let's go get Taylor and on the way you can tell me your weak points and I can help you with them!"
Mae looked up and sighed in relief "thank goodness..." She ran to her and hugged her "we have been worried sick...Damon had a midlife crisis that thankfully just ended...l
London nodded, sighing. "I know. It's rather sad. Someone his age shouldn't have to take care of themselves. Not to mention his sister." She shook her head. "But. Let's not talk of that now. You excited for camp?" She asked, wanting to talk on a more happy note."Dem nodded, smiling softly. "Sure, sounds great." he said, letting his wings unfurl as he started the flight to the Milton's.
Lexi smiled, hugging her back with the arm that was not holding up Ashlynn. "I only came by for a moment Mae, then I need to get going again. It's so good to see you though. You don't know how much I've missed you." She ignored the mention of Damon. She'd be happy if she didn't hear his name again. It brought back too many painful memories.
Mark nodded "for sure! It's just hard to figure out what I really want to do though!"Damon landed and saw Mae and Lexi and ran over before she could escape "wait...please."
London sighed, nodding. "I can understand that." She agreed. "I can't figure out what I want to go in for, something I want a challenge in, or something I'm good at."Dem backed up slowly, giving his parents some space. He was rather stunned at seeing his mother. He knew right away who the child in her arms was.
Lexi heard the voice she dreaded hearing again and turned, her already pale face going even paler. She backed up, shaking her head. "I-I have to go." She said softly, hugging Ashlynn closer to her, almost protectively. "I really have to get going..." Her wings raised slowly.
Mark shrugged "you definitely need to do flying ones! Your little wings are speedy!"Damon stayed still as she backed up hating the look on her face and her need to escape. He saw the baby and his heart melted "please..." He begged his voice going quiet.
London laughed. "Thank you?" She said, elbowing him. "They aren't that little..."Lexi winced visibly. Why was he doing this to her? She couldn't understand it. He made it clear that he hated her, and now he wanted her to stay? Had he turned cold enough that he played with the hearts he devoured? Once bitten, twice shy. Lexi was afraid of the fire. "I-I can't..." She stammered. "We broke it off..." She said softly. "I'm sorry..." Trembling, she lifted herself into the sky and flew slowly to the outskirts of the city, her eyes blurry with tears.
"That's a compliment! They are swift and little compared to our huge leathery ones...makes you faster and more agile!" He praised.Damon just stared at where she had flown off too, his heart shattered he really did lose her and it was his fault...he didn't even get to see his daughter...he pat Demetri's head and sat on the couch head in hands.
Ashlynn frowned up at her 'daddy?' She thought with a little pout.
London flushed, kissing his cheek. "Well when you put it that way..." She said, smiling happily. Dem bit his lip, cold emotion flooding his heart. "You can't just let her go!" He cried, running over to his father. "Please Dad. Please bring her back." He begged.
Lexi drifted slowly through the window in one of the abandoned buildings and sat cross legged on the floor, cradling Ashlynn. "I'm sorry baby girl. I..." Not only was Lexi afraid of trusting her heart to someone again, but she had also heard of murders, murders done by two people that sounded a little too much like Damon and his brother. "I'm afraid of him." She whispered.
Mark turned his face to kiss her "I love you...I would never underestimate you..."Damon shook his head "she's scared of me Dem! She wants nothing to do with me I'm sorry...." He had actual tears streaming down his face, he never cried in front of his son.
Ashlynn chewed on her finger and looked up at her mother 'love him...love you'
London smiled softly, "Love you too." She whispered, kissing him again, gently. When she pulled away, she looked a little worried. "James has been gone for quite awhile. I worry about him at the casino without me to scare away all the girls. Shall we go check on him?"Dem hated seeing his father cry, it just made him more distressed. Dem frowned, small tears running down his cheeks. "You have to try. You obviously love her or you wouldn't be crying. If you love her that much then you should be trying to show her that. Then she wouldn't be afraid." he said hopefully, his voice trembling.
Lexi sucked in a sob, shaking her head, the tears falling. "I'm sorry Ashlynn, I'm so sorry. Maybe if we hadn't split... it could have been different... but he's different now baby. He doesn't love me." She whispered, hugging her close. He didn't love her, no one would.
Mark nodded "we have to change our ages though...they won't let is in otherwise..."Damon sighed "she doesn't even want to look at me Dem...how am I supposed to show her?"
Ashlynn frowned 'sad...wanted you to stay...' She reminded thinking about her father's crushed face and sincere eyes. The joy and relief when he first saw them and placed it in her mother's mind.
London nodded. "Shouldn't be too hard. James said we could do it." She said, and closed her eyes, focusing intently. Her body changed, until she looked about 25.Dem bit his lip. "Well not trying wont help anything." He said softly, trying to make his father see. "Please... please go after her and see if you can talk to her. Please?" He begged.
Lexi winced at the image, shaking her head. "Just acting Ashlynn. He didn't want me there. He doesn't want to see me again. He hates me." She sobbed. "He hates me because... I'm a monster, because..." She shook her head, her shoulders slumping slightly, remembering all the angry words that had been shouted back and forth.
Mark had changed at the same time, the rush of hormones came instantly when they were grown and he cupped her face kissing her deeply.Damon nodded "you're right...I need to see Taylor first make sure she knows that her daddy didn't abandon her." He headed to the playroom and smiled seeing his little girl "hey squirt..."
Ashlynn shook her head 'felt heart...sincere...pain...wanted you to come home...reason for fight."
London eagerly kissing him back, pulling herself against him. She had never felt this way before... this... passion. Then a thought struck her that caused her to jolt away. "If James feels like this then he will definitely have gotten a girlfriend!" She cried in dismay. "We have to go find him, and then continue, ok?" She asked hopefully. Taylor laughed happily when she saw her father, flying quickly to him and hugging him tightly. "Daddy..." She cooed, burying her face against him.
Lexi winced, moaning at the stabbing pain in her heart. She was at war with herself. A strong part of her felt fear, and sorrow, and hate, and another part of her felt longing. "Ashlynn..." She shook her head. "It's too late." She whispered.
Mark frowned "why would it be so awful for him to have a girlfriend again?" He asked confused by her utter dismay. He just wanted to keep kissing her, get to really know all of her.Damon held her close and kissed her hair "how's my pretty, big girl?" He tossed her into the air and back against his chest.
Ashlynn started to cry, big teary eyes and heavy sobs.
London sighed exasperatedly. "Because then I wouldn't be the only girl in his life anymore! He wouldn't love me as much..."Taylor shrieked when he threw her up and then laughed, sighing happily. "Good Daddy." She whispered. "Good now." She hugged him tight, intent on never letting go again. "Where's Mommy?"
Lexi's fragile heart snapped and she cried, hugging her daughter close. "I'm sorry baby. I'm so sorry." She let her light wings unfold and wrap around them both, wishing she could have a giant rewind button to fix everything, wishing life was not so horrible to her, and her poor daughter.
Mark raised a brow "do you love James less because you are with me? He's not the only guy in your life anymore."Damon kissed her forehead "I'm going to go get her..." He promised and put her down "I'll be back..." He ran a hand through her hair "go help your brother with dinner!"
Ashlynn's heavy sobs now turned into soft whimpers as she snuggle close to her mother's warmth 'daddy loves us...' She insisted.
London stopped, never having thought about that before. "No... but..." She sighed softly. "Do you think he'll be ok?"Taylor nodded and obediently flew downstairs to held Dem with dinner.
Lexi closed her eyes, not able to argue with the small girl, but not believing her either. She held her baby close and curled up tight, her wings shielding them, and just cried softly.
Mark took her hand "let's go and make sure...but, if he happens to meet a nice girl you let him!"James had finished three straight games of poker and had enough for Demetri. He sat at the bar wondering what to order since he had never had alcohol before!
Damon followed the scent of Lexi as he flew to an abandoned warehouse and say at the silhouette of the window watching them quietly. He took the blanket he had taken from England and wrapped it over her shoulders before stepping back again.
London nodded slowly. "Deal." She agreed, not sure if she could keep calm if she saw him with a girl, but she would try, for him. There was already a petite looking brunette at the bar, sipping a margarita delicately. She looked over at James. "Haven't seen you here before. You new?" She asked.
Lexi tensed when she felt something warm and soft drape over her shoulders and back, and she quietly folded her wings away, sitting up slowly. She knew who she would see standing in the shadows, but she was still surprised, so much so she wasn't quite sure what to say. She didn't want to start sobbing all over again, and certainly not in front of him. So she just curled up again, partially because she was cold, and partially to hide her face, and just whispered, "Thank you."
Mark smiled and spread his wings, he carefully carried her and flew them both downtown where the casino was located. The place was glittering with lights and sounds coming from inside "sheesh..."James jumped a little startled, he didn't really know what to say so he just nodded "just moved here...thought I'd give the cards a work out while I'm here..."
Damon slowly nodded and stayed quiet for a long while "how...how is the baby?..." He felt a sick sinking feeling knowing that he missed her birth and wasn't there to support her.
London immensely enjoyed being carried by Mark, and she smiled, holding onto him. When she saw the casino, her eyebrow raised. "Well, let's get this over with then."The girl nodded in understanding, smiling a little. "So, you got a name?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. "Mine's Emily."
Lexi lifted up the edge of the blanket to show him the small girl curled beneath. "Her name is Ashlynn." She whispered, smiling softly at her daughter, their daughter. "And she loves you." She added hesitantly.
Mark nodded and walked in, it was an array of machines flashing and pinging, coins being put into slots over and over. He gripped onto London's hand "see him?" He didn't know what James looked like at this age.James smiled back at her, she was very pretty her eyes were like magnets to him drawing him closer to her. "James...privilege to meet you Emily."
Damon slowly approached and stayed a foot away watching her and smiling softly "she's beautiful..." He whispered wanting so badly to hold her in his arms and have her grab onto his finger with her small hand.
London tried to tune out the bright sights and loud noises as she scanned the place for James. When she spotted him, she tensed and nodded slowly. "Over there." She whispered, nodding her head in his direction. Emily scooted a little closer. "And you as well. Are you going to get something to drink?" She asked. "They have great wine here, but I'm more of a champagne drinker." She explained. "Unless you like beer best?"
Lexi could plainly see the want in his features and she sat up slowly, drying her eyes with a hasty hand. Scooping up Ashlynn, she held her out to him. "Go on." She whispered. "She's yours too."
Mark noticed the tense look on her face and looked at the direction she was motioning to and grinned, he did have a girl! "Should we intrude?..."James smiled sheepishly running a hand through his hair "I've never drank before..." He admitted with a shrug.
Damon watched and carefully cradled Ashlynn carefully kissing her forehead he looked back at Lexi "was the delivery..." His eyes concerned for her, he loved her and was trying to make it right...
London felt a growl building in her throat. "Yes we intrude..." she whispered, having a very hard time staying where she was. "Why is this so hard?" She complained. Emily's eyebrows raised. "Seriously?" When he didn't say otherwise, she grinned and shook her head. "Well you can try it now. Here." She slid her glass over to him. "Have some. It's good, I promise."
Lexi watched him holding the baby like it was as delicate as glass and her heart warmed a little. "Fine." She said simply. "I found someone to help me with it." Yes, it had been fine, but she wouldn't admit how horrible it had been to not have him there for it.
Mark put a hand on her shoulder "because you love him...but don't you want him to be happy as us? Find someone that he can care immensely for?"James raised a brow at her and smirked taking a sip, it was tangy and sweet and enjoyable like lemonade but with a strong kick "it's good." He slid it back to her.
Damon sighed handing her back to Lexi "I wish I..." He took a deep breath "anyways...I said things that were uncalled for and I wanted to apologize..."
London nodded slowly, sighing as she deflated. "Of course I want him to be happy." She said softly. "Lets just go home." She said. "I'd rather spend time with you than watch this." She smiled softly. Emily nodded. "I enjoy it. Would you like one of your own? Or do you want to try something else?" She asked.
Lexi took Ashlynn back carefully, cradling her again. Lexi nodded slowly. "I forgive you. And I'm sorry as well." She said seriously, every bit of what she said truthful.
Mark kissed her and led her back out the doors, he wrapped his arm around her waist stroking it with his thumb. "You want to stay this age or go back?"James smiled "I think I'll try something else it's a little froo froo for me..."
Damon sighed not knowing what to do at this point "you don't have to leave...Dem and Taylor miss you..." He paused taking a deep breath "...I miss you..."
London smiled softly. "We might as well play around with this age a little bit before going back." She said softly, flying back to the house with him. Emily laughed. "Well look who's acquired a taste. What would you like to try?"
Lexi winced, looking down at her hands. "Damon I..." She shook her head. "I don't think I can fall in love again." She whispered. "It hurts too much, and frankly, I'm scared of it. Scared to fall. Too many people have turned me away." She shook her head, hugging herself. "No one could ever really love a monster."
Mark grinned and cupped her face when they landed and kissed her deeply again exploring her mouth slowly enjoying every second!James chuckled and shook out his hair "just a normal beer...think that would be more my taste..."
Damon felt the sharp stabbing again, the same feeling he had in the kitchen..."you don't even want to try again?..." He asked quietly though there was an air of despair.
London pressed herself against him, trying to get as close as possible as they danced in this newfound passion. "I love you." She gasped.Emily smiled, nodding. "On the house." She said, waving down the bartender. She ordered the beer for him, sliding it over with a small smile.
Lexi shrank down, trying to sink through the floor. "I... I do...." she said. "I do want to try.... but im..." she took a deep breath. "Im...." scared.
Mark led her to the couch still holding the kiss and laced his fingers through her hair "I love you more..." He whispered burying his face in her neck to inhale her minty scent.James smiled, he pulled out some cash and payed for her drink wanting to be a gentleman! He sipped the beef and it first it was bitter and hard, but the more he tried it the more he loved it!
Damon watched her carefully trying to understand "...scared of me?..."
London moaned softly, holding him tight. "I love you more." She managed to whisper, kissing the top of his head, her hands running down his back.Emily smiled, happy that he offered to pay. "So," she asked curiously. "Do you like it?"
Lexi nodded slowly, not able to deny that. "I have to admit, I thought the... violent side of you was in the past... and I dont want you to be someone you're not, for me." She said softly. "But i dont know if I could... I dont know. ... be brave. Brave enough to be with you, and brave enough to trust my heart to someone again. She admitted. In the end, it was really just that, she was scared.
Mark began to kiss down her neck and shoulder caressing the skin underneath the edge of her shirt. He kissed her forehead, than nose and came back to her lips.James nodded taking another sip "it's great!" He assured and sat closer to her "tell me a little about yourself?"
Damon stepped back his face slashed in pain as if she had hit it "I lost control...because I lost you...the kids need you, I'll leave but they need a mom..."
London melted into his arms, her heart pounding in her ears. Her hands slipped under the hem of his shirt and ran over his back. She'd never felt this way before, but if felt wonderful. Emily laughed and looked away shyly. "Ah, there's not much to know..." She said, shaking her head. "Just your typical city girl looking for some meaning to life."
Lexi looked down, hating the idea of that. She knew, if he lost control from them splitting, then his having to leave would probably be worse. She walked up to him slowly, resting her hand on his shoulder. "Damon, no. I didn't finish. I want to be brave Damon." She said, looking at him carefully, as if she was fumbling over a million words in her mind that she wanted to say. "I want to be brave, for you and our kids. So... please don't take it personally if I'm not... now and again." she said softly.
Mark shivered and nipped down her shoulder "Loo...are..you..." He couldn't speak he was so engrossed in her.James nudged her "I'm sure there is something!"
Damon sighed "I really don't understand Lex...do you even like me anymore?"
London nodded and flew with them to Damon's place.
Torch sighed softly. "I see." he said. "I'm sorry to hear that."
Dem walked in just then, and froze when he saw his father. He tensed and spun, walking quickly for the door again.
Lexi paled. "Mika... I-I can explain..." She said. The little girl was struggling and squalling, shouting into her mother's mind that she was thirsty. Lexi winced and took her from Mika, using her own fangs to slit her wrist and feed the baby. "Please..." She whispered to Mika. "Please don't freak out..."
