McKensie and Lara

Damon shook his head "I just...no I need to stay awake!" He protested, he had to watch Taylor!

Lexi frowned. "No. You don't. Get to bed this instant Damon, or so help me... you wont be happy." She said seriously, smiling a little.
Torch nodded. "Mhm. We've got everything under control here." He said seriously, guiding Damon towards the guest bedroom. "Go rest, you'll need it to take care of your family properly."

Damon sighed hating being treated like a child, he grumbled and huffed crawling into bed "this is ridiculous..."

Torch smiled. "There you go." He said. "Goodnight." He shut the door gently and walked back to the girls. "He'll be fine." He promised.
Lexi relaxed a little. "Thank you." She breathed. "I hate to think that I tire him out so. He needs sleep."

Mae smiled at Torch "aww are you being the tough best friend?" She stretched up "how can't you stand to be in bed all day?..."

London flushed beet red, smiling a little. "O-okay." She agreed softly. She moved a little closer to him. "I'll try to help out." She agreed. She was thrilled he wanted to spend time with her again.
Torch chuckled. "Sure, if you want to put it that way." He headed back out again. "I'm going to go raid your fridge."
Lexi sighed. "The baby doesn't like it when I'm standing because she get's less blood." She explained.

Mark moved his hand over hers and looked into those deep eyes, "I never...wanted to hurt you London..."
Mae rolled her eyes "that one...always thinking about food." She rubbed Lexi's belly softly "how are the others taking it?"

London smiled a little. "I know it was hard to accept." she said softly, not able to look away. "So I understand. I'm not mad at you." She chewed on her lip. "Could we, um start again?"
Lexi sighed. "We haven't told many people." She said honestly. "Dem was fine with it. Maybe a little too smug. And Taylor liked hearing her sister. I hope Damon's ok with it. I know it's a bit of a shock for both of us....." She sighed. "They offered to end it, but we couldn't do that after Dem..."

Mae nodded in understanding "it's a lot...that's why I'm taking no chances right now...seems demons are incredibly fertile!"

Lexi sighed. "Ugh, no kidding. I kinda wish we weren't. Would make life a lot more stress free." She shook her head.

Mae nodded in agreement and leaned her head against the backboard "at least they grow pretty quickly right? Look at the twins and Dem we have teenagers now!"

Lexi sighed and nodded. "Seriously quickly. I'm still technically a teen... which makes this crazy for me."

Mae nodded "that's true! But you can make your age increase!"

Lexi sighed and shrugged. "I suppose. But it wouldn't feel right. I... I don't know. I don't want to make this whole thing weirder than it has to be." She sighed. "Mae... I really am sorry for all of this."

Mae frowned "why are you sorry?...Dem can't age if he doesn't know..."

Lexi raked a hand through her hair. "I know... but I don't think I'll ever age myself. It just wouldn't feel right..."

Mae shrugged "I don't know what to tell you..."

Lexi nodded, sighing softly. "It's alright. Could you check on Damon and Taylor for me? And make sure Dem isn't into too much trouble?" She asked, "If that's alright?"

Mae nodded "of course!" She headed to Dem's room "Demetri?"

Demetri looked up and smiled politely. "Hi Mrs. Milton."
Lexi flipped over when Mae left and covered her face with the pillow as tears squeezed from her eyes. Why am I like this? She thought miserably to herself. I am a danger to my family, and the reason Damon is worn out. They'd be better off without me.

Mae smiled "Mae" she reminded "what's been going on?"

Dem shrugged. "Taylor's napping in the next room. Torch ate all our food, and I've been reading." He said honestly.
Lexi bit her lip, her mind conflicted. If she stayed, she risked hurting Damon further, hurting Taylor and her family, and hurting the Miltons, everyone she loved. But if she left, she would keep them safe. It would only be for a while... Lexi got up and packed a small suitcase with bloodbags, IV's, and tubes, and another with clothes for her, and the child when it was born. Biting her lip to keep the tears away, she wrote a note to Damon and slipped it under his door before flying out the window, and then using her vamp speed to get far far away. The note read:
Damon,
I can't hurt you, or our family, and my presence is doing just that. I have decided to leave for the duration of the pregnancy. I will be back, in two months, when our child is born.
I love you,
Lexi

Mae smiled holding back a laugh "well how's training? With Lukas? How's that been?"

Dem smiled. "It's been great. I enjoy it." He nodded. "Different from Earth though."
Lexi flew across the ocean in a matter of minutes, and to an old town in England. It was a small town, but a fairly cozy one, and she immediately got searching for a place where she could work to earn a roof over her head.

Mae smiled "that's good! Excited for your new baby sister?"
Damon couldn't sleep, it wasn't his nature to rest when there was trouble, he blinked seeing the note and swore "no...no...no" he was in a very weakened state but he went to Torch showing him the note "the tube can get infected, she's had a history of a problem pregnancy..."

Dem smiled. "Yeah. I am. Kinda wish the little sucker was a boy though. I'll be outnumbered two to one with another girl in the house." He joked, shaking his head.
Torch put down the sandwich he had been eating, even after he had emptied their fridge. He read the note quickly and frowned. "So we need to get her back then?" He asked.
Lexi, after wandering the town, found an old farm she could cook at, in exchange for a room to herself. She immediately got to work to keep her mind off what she had left back home.

Mae laughed a little "you and your dad can join forces right? They will look to their big brother to protect them!"
Damon threw the sandwich out of his hands "obviously!" When he was tired and weak his demon side showed up more often.

Dem shrugged. "I suppose. Though Dad's pretty busy with Mom right now. I've kinda been left to take care of Taylor." He said, sighing.
Torch raised his hands in the air, "Ok! I'll go look for her. But Damon... please go back to bed, and actually sleep. You aren't helping anyone by being tired." He said as nicely as possible.

Mae frowned realizing that Dem was feeling slightly abandoned "died that make you feel bad Dem? Feel like your not getting attention?"
Damon growled "stop telling me what to do! I'm going to find my wife and child!"

Dem smiled a little. "No its fine. Mom and Dad deserve time to themselves." He said, shrugging. Ok, so maybe he was feeling a little abandoned, but he could deal with that.
Torch backed up a step. "Damon... I'm sorry, but is that really smart when you're like this?" He asked softly.

Mae frowned reading past that nonchalant answer "why don't you ever let them know?...really they just think you don't need them, you have your powers and slight ego...why do you hide behind that?"
Damon just stared at him and shook his head "I need to find her before I can worry about myself."

Dem sighed, his shoulders slumping a little. "Because I've got a father I need to live up to." He said simply.
Torch sighed. "Can you just sleep for a couple hours first? I'll look for her during that time, and if I haven't found her, then you can go looking?"

James sighed "there's cold pizza in there Loo..."
Mae was a little shocked and put her hand on his shoulder "Damon is incredibly proud of you! You don't have to be like him to be powerful...he's not the mindless monster he was, and he doesn't want that."
Damon shook his head and searched for a syringe in the kitchen drawer and inserted it "I can be awake for weeks now, let's go!"

Dem shrugged. "Everywhere I go, I am known as "Damon's son". It's always, 'hey look! It's Damon's son'." He said, shaking his head. "If I'm not as good as they expect me to be..."
Torch raised an eyebrow, but consented, nodding. His wings unfurled and he sped out the front door. "You search the nearest city to the west, I'll search the nearest city to the east?" He offered, circling a couple times.
Night came early in England, and after working herself to exhaustion the whole day, Lexi collapsed in her room, falling asleep immediately.

Mae pulled him into a hug "maybe you should find the true Dem, stop trying to be your dad and create the reputation of the amazing Demetri...not cocky or egotistical."
Damon tried to think of a place that a vamp could hide and not cause trouble, it wasn't in the states. He headed to Englsnd searching for small towns.

Dem sighed. "I've tried. But it's not as easy as that." He said, hugging Mae back.
Torch raised an eyebrow when Damon shot off across the sea, but he didn't ask questions as he followed close behind.

Mark just continued eating.
Mae frowned "I think it can be...win the Games, beat your dad and show that you are as great of even greater."
Damon looked around, the town was asleep and empty. His body was weakening more with the adrenaline he shot into his system and collapsed.

Dem shook his head. "I wouldn't want to beat my Dad." he said softly. "Fathers are supposed to be someone to look up to. Not someone to beat, or compete with. I just want to be myself." He said softly.
Torch swore and swooped down. He knew Damon was pushing it by moving at all, let alone flying across the sea, let alone using fake energy shots. He scooped him up and searched for the nearest hotel. It was closed, so he started calling through the night, hoping someone would hear.
Lexi woke to the calls and shot up, recognizing Torch's voice. She dressed and looked in the mirror, sighing softly. They couldn't know it was her. She had to keep her distance for a couple months. She shifted her appearance to a young brunette with green eyes, and made herself a little shorter. She lead Torch into a spare room, gesturing for him to lay Damon down on the bed.

James nodded "he's right Loo! You are awesome at soccer!"
Mae nodded and sighed "I wish I knew how to really help Demetri...I do know that my twins miss their friend."
Damon was out, his vitals were critical the flame burned off on both ends.

Dem nodded, smiling a little. "I'll go over and say hi once Mom can watch Taylor again." He assured.
Torch pushed Lexi out of the room, not knowing it was her, and not wanting a human to see what he was going to do to try and help Damon.
Lexi didn't resist, she knew she couldn't blow her cover. She stood outside, watching through the crack in the door.
Torch sighed. "Damon... I really wish I didn't have to do this... Sorry if it's a bit of a shock." He said, delving into his reserves of heat. As he did so, his body lit on fire. He placed a hand over Damon's heart and closed his eyes as he channeled the power from himself into Damon's core.

Mae smiled "Dem, I can watch Taylor, trust me you can go see them or whatever you want!"
Damon was in agonizing pain but his body couldn't react to it, so he was trapped in his paralyzed shell of torture!

Dem grinned. "Thank you! I'll be right back." He flew to their house and swooped in to see them all eating pizza. "Did I already miss the party?" He asked.
Torch grit his teeth and pushed, trying to force the energy from his heat into Damon's core to light his eternal flame and get his body working again. The longer it took, the more he hurt his friend in the process, so he put as much strength into it as he could and shoved, transferring a good portion of his energy into Damon, enough to leave Torch shaking with exhaustion as his flaming body spurted and cooled.

Damon started to come to and groaned "are you trying to BBQ me?..."

Torch smiled in relief, leaning against the headboard of the bed. "Welcome back from the dead." He said, his flame cooling down completely. "I'm sorry about the burning. But your flame died, and I lit it the only way I knew how." He said honestly.
Outside the door, Lexi sighed in relief when Damon woke.

Damon gave a weak smile "least Lexi doesn't know...she'd just..w..." He couldn't finish as he drooped off again, not critical but still pretty weak.

London flushed. "Uh, yeah. Mark and I...." She started, shy.
Torch chuckled softly. "Yeah, good thing." he whispered. He sat down on the end of his bed, sighing. Damon would need rest. Then he would ask why they were in England.
Lexi slumped against the door, sighing softly. This was tough, way too tough. She had to force herself not to run to Damon's aid, she had to force herself to keep her distance for his safety. It was hard.

James mocked his friend and rolled his eyes "I need backup!"
Damon woke up the next week and looked around confused "Lexi?..." He fingered the blanket on him, this was hers...but how?"

Dem chuckled softly. "I'm here for you." he promised. "That stuff is gross."
Lexi was downstairs in the kitchen, working hard like she had for the past week, working to earn the room for Damon, and for herself.
Torch shifted in the chair he had been napping in and smiled. "Morning. I see you're back from the dead. How do you feel?" When he noticed Damon fiddling with the blanket, he smiled. "That belongs to the maid. She's real sweet. Doesn't say much. The head of this house let us stay here, but I do think the girl had to chip in."
Lexi smiled, relaxing a little more. "Thank you so much. I don't know what we would do without you guys." She shook her head. "Damon?" She called. "The Miltons offered to stay and take care of us, so you can go to bed now!"
Torch raised an eyebrow. "We did?" He asked himself. Then he smiled. "You heard the girl. Off to bed."
