McKensie and Lara

James groaned "dad no!...I'm not going to school!" He yelled under the pillow
Mae frowned, James never yelled or complained.

Torch walked over to him and sat on the edge of his bed. "James, are you alright?" He asked gently.
London hopped up and ran over to him, hugging him tightly. "Come on James! I can't go by myself!" she said, tucking her head under his arm. "Come with me please? It will be fun!"

Mae frowned and took London "let's let daddy and James talk ok?"
James sniffed under the pillow shaking his head.

London bit her lip, not liking the idea of leaving James when he seemed distressed, but she nodded and took Mae's hand, letting her lead her out.
Torch lay his hand gently on his back. "What's wrong bud?"

James shook her head and sighed "they'all make fun of me...call me 4 wheels! And I can't fly!"

Torch sighed and rubbed his back gently. "You don't know that they'll make fun of you. And even if they do, that means they noticed you. To stand up for something means you'll make a few enemies. But you'll also make new friends. Who knows. You could be the most popular kid in school, and then I'll have to deal with your sister asking for a wheelchair." He teased, smiling at him. "Its only for a couple hours each day James. Then you can fly to your hearts content." Besides, having wheels is a good thing. Girls like that. He thought to himself, but didn't say it outloud.

James sighed "no...I'm not going! I know everything they are teaching anyways!"

Torch sighed softly. "Then what will London do all by herself, with no one to protect her? Or be there for her? You have to grow up like a normal kid James, so one day you can be the man of the house."

James thought about it "can't we be home schooled? You guys are home...and we still learn everything!"

Torch shook his head. "Then you wouldnt make as many friends. And you wouldnt see them everyday. Its good practice to get used to being around humans." He said gently.

James sighed and nodded "alright...I'll try dad, I'll do it for Loo but that's it!"

Torch hugged him tightly. "Thats my boy."

James smiled and hugged him back "better get used to the chair then!" He flapped his wings and sat down "feels weird..."

Lexi saw Dem come down looking all grown up and she sucked in a breath and her hand covered her mouth, eues tearing up. "Oh my little boy..." she hugged him.
Dem grinned at Damon so Lexi couldnt see.
Torch nodded. "It will, for a while." He smiled. "Try moving."

James pushed the wheels and he moved with them, a small smile appeared on his face it was kind of fun!
Mae with London's help was getting the lunches made "you excited for school? It's been awhile since you've been!"

Torch grinned. "There you go!" He said encouragingly. "Want to fly it down to the car so we can get ready to head off?" He suggested.
London bit her lip. "More nervous. It will be different without James as his usual self, and Mark will be there..."

James nodded and flew out and let his dad carry it out as he flew to London "Mmm pb and banana sandwich! My favorite, come on Loo I can run over Mark with my wheelchair if he's a jerk!"

Torch smiled and carried the chair out to the car, winking at Mae as he went.
London flew up to James and hugged him. "I'm so glad you're coming." She said.

Mae laughed and went over patting his hind quarters "careful there mister!"
James hugged her back "hope it goes well..."

Torch grinned and planted a nice big kiss on her forehead. "Always am darling." He said, loading up the car. "Come on kids! Let's go!"
London nodded. "I'm sure it will." She said hopefully. "I can push you around if you want." She offered, flying into the car with him.

James grinned a little and went in the car "ok Loo! We are ready dad!"

Torch got in the car and drove them to school. "You kids have a great day, ok? I'll be here to pick you up in the afternoon." He promised, helping lift James into his chair, before handing them both their bags.
London smiled. "Ok Dad. Bye!" she grabbed the handles on the wheel chair and got to work pushing James across the walk and into the school.

James sighed "I don't like not being able to do things Loo..." He admitted and held onto his back pack..

London wheeled him up to his cubby so he could put his pack away. Then she put hers in the cupboard too. "You can do lots of things James! It's just that you do some things differently now." She said, trying to encourage him.

James sighed "would it be so horrible to fly in front of humans?"

London sighed softly. "They wouldn't understand James. We would scare them. You saw how Mark reacted..."

James sighed "oh yeah...hey look there's Demetri! Dem over here!"

Dem heard a voice he recognized and grinned, brightening instantly. He ran over and smiled. "James!" He exclaimed, hugging him. "Hi London." He said as well, then he smiled. "How are you guys?"

James hugged him back "frustrated, but Loo is good! Welcome to kindergarten...it's worse than Hell!" He whispered

Dem nodded sadly, "Sorry about what happened..." He said softly. "But hey, maybe you could come to Hell with Dad and I after school. He and Lucas are going to teach me the important stuff!"

James grinned "sounds fun! Only if Loo can come too! She's not find of being left alone..." He shrugged "what do you think they are going to teach you?"

Dem nodded. "Yeah. She can come." He agreed. "They'll teach me demon stuff. You know, like how to be a better demon. Being scary, and flying, and powers. All that." He explained. "I can't wait to get our demon forms. But those only come later." He sighed.

James shrugged "I heard it hurts and it's hard to keep in...it's hard enough keeping the fire under control!"

Dem nodded. "The first time. But after that it'll be awesome! Who cares if it's hard to keep in? We wont be around humans forever!" He said, grinning.
London shot him a glare. "Keep it down. We can't let them know about us..."

James saw Mark watching them and nodded "exactly...chill Dem, humans aren't bad!" He rolled himself to a desk working with the clay again "hey Mark...hey Kaylee."

Dem huffed and shook his head. How could they not see that humans actually were really that bad?
Mark smiled and walked over to them. "Hey guys. How is it going?" He asked.
London smiled nervously. "Alright. You?" She asked.
Mark smiled back. "Pretty good. Are you doing ok James?"

James nodded "getting around, it's fun to be back though...have we missed anything fun?" He started making a dragon packing down the clay.

((could you play Lucas for now bc I have no idea what is wrong with Damon, nor how to make Lucas help him. XP))
Mark shook his head, huffing. "It's just the same as everyday now." He said honestly, playing with the clay with him. "Not much exciting has happened since you left."

Lukas checked the antique clock on the fireplace it wasn't time for Demetri's lessons yet. He stood trying not to wake Anne in the bedroom, he opened the door and was nearly bulldozed over by Lexi "what in?!..." He was about to start and then paused seeing Damon "what happened?" His voice low as he motioned her into the guest room.
James shrugged "At least that's a relief! Too much had happened when we haven't been here! Nice to get a break right Loo?"

London nodded, smiling at him. "Yes. It is nice." She agreed politely.
Mark nodded, sighing softly. "Are you doing ok with your wheelchair then?" He asked hopefully. He wanted James to be ok.

James shrugged "first day using it so I guess?" He leaned close and whispered "I fly at home."

Mark nodded solemnly. "I see." He said. Then he whispered back. "Could you take me for a flight sometime?" Hopeful excitement lit up in his eyes.

James grinned and nodded "yeah it has to be secret though!"

Mark split into a huge smile. He leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. "You guys are the best friends ever!"

James laughed "better not just because we have cool perks!"

Anne came in and looked at Damon worriedly. She examined the candy, and then checked all Damon's vitals. "That was one strong drug." She finally announced. "Someone really wanted to knock you out dear." She said softly. In a second, Anne was working with vials of unknown fluids, mixing and stirring, and muttering to herself. When she was done, she held up a small vial. "This should wake him up. But he's not going to be very coordinated for a while yet." she said seriously, pouring the liquid down Damon's throat. "You'll have to watch him for the next twenty four hours, make sure he doesn't do something stupid like trip downstairs."
Mark's smile dimmed a little. "Actually, it's because you didn't hate me after I broke up with London." he said softly, looking down.

Damon felt his mind slowly wake up but it felt more like a dream than reality. His eyes opened and then closed getting used to the sensation and how heavy his body felt.
James shrugged "I've never hated anyone and Loo was ok...I don't get rid of friends..."

Lexi looked away, having eyes only for Damon. She was by his side in a second when he seemed to wake up. "Damon?" She asked softly. "How are you feeling?"
Anne chewed her lip then. "To be honest, the side effects in these cases have varied from person to person. Anything from slight memory lose to excessive mood swings." She said honestly. "They never last longer than a couple days." she promised.
Mark brightened a little then and his smile reappeared. "Thank you." He said honestly. "I don't have many friends besides you, and I was worried that... I wouldn't have any at all."
Torch smiled in relief. "Good." He said, nodding. "Yes. That might be smart. I'll go get them." He told her, walking up stairs. He opened the blinds and smiled at his kids. "Rise and shine! Its morning!"
