McKensie and Lara

Mae sighed and rubbed his back holding him tightly "shh I've got you...I know...I know it hurts." She sighed and just held on, she needed a giant rewind button...

Torch clung to her, barely moving as he tried to dispel his grief. He hugged her tightly and looked up at her then, wiping his eyes. "I love you." He whispered, and rested his head weakly on her shoulder.

Mae sighed and nodded "I love you more..." She got a thought, not quite a vision just a thought "we need to go to their house...with the kids."

Torch nodded slowly, not questioning her. He had learned to just go along when she had one of those moments. "Alright." He agreed, calling Dem to him, "Can you hold onto Taylor, and I'll carry you?" He asked Mae.

"I can't touch Taylor...she will kill me..." She whispered and tried to carefully stand but crumbled back down "I'll stay..."

Torch sighed softly and wrapped the girl in a blanket before scooping both her and Dem up. "Are you sure you'll be alright here?" he asked, worried.

Mae nodded with a small smile "I'll be fine.." She assured pulling the blanket over her trembling body. "I hope they really are alive..."

Torch gave her one more worried glance before nodding. He took off in a flurry of dark wings and soared to Damons house. Landing, he walked onside and looked around apprehensively. "Hello?" He called, even though he wasnt expecting an answer.

Torch swallowed slowly, hardly daring to beleive what he heard. Damon was alive!? He bounded up the stairs, about to burst into their room when he saw that the door was closed. He paused. "You decent? Open up! I thought you were dead!" His voice sounded somewhat frantic.

Lexi chuckled despite herself, even though she did want Torch to leave so she and Damon could pick up where they left off.

Dem shrieked and ran in, hugging Damon quickly and handing him taylor before running to Lexi and hugging her. Lexi smiled and hugged him back tightly.

Damon grinned cuddling his little angel and frowning, she had tattoos on her forehead like a beautiful filigree and it was white "Lexi?" He motioned her over to see what she though.

Lexi hugged Dem once more and got up to come see what he was worried about. She saw the marks and smiled sadly. "My beautiful baby girl." she whispered, running her finger over the tattoos. "She did inherit the gift after all. You'll have to be careful Damon. She might try to steal your powers." She teased.

Damon frowned "Lex..what would happen if she did?" He was worried about her dealing with other people, the Milton's after all did watch her.

Lexi chuckled softly. "She wouldn't. She knows her father. It's just like I don't steal your powers. " she nudged him with her hip. "But even if she did, I could get them back for you."

Damon grinned "good to know! But what would happen to someone besides me a total stranger?"

Lexi shrugged. "Probably die after a while. I mean, they wouldn't have their powers any more... and those are kind of essential to an angel or demon..." She said honestly.

Damon frowned "that's not good at all...how did you learn to control it?...what can we teach her?"

Lexi grimaced. "Let's not speak of how I learned." She whispered. "It was a more... traditional method." she opened her eyes again and looked up at him. "Taylor will have to learn by learning to be content with what she has."

Damon slowly nodded and rocked his baby girl "we will really have to emphasize right and wrong...her powers put her in the stereotype of a villain but she could never..."

Lexi nodded and sighed, leaning her head on his shoulder. "Dont all our powers stereotype villians? Between you and Dem, Taylor and I, we're quite the family." She smiled softly. "Dont worry. She'll learn."

Lexi smiled and took Taylor gently from Damon, going into the bathroom to feed her, as the baby girl had not had anything to eat in a while.

Lexi sucked in a sharp gasp and her hand flew to her mouth. "Put her on the bed, I can fix her."
Blinded by fear, Torch shook his head. "No way." He growled. "You are not touching her. You're the reason she's dying."
Lexi shrank back, stunned.

Damon glared at Torch "don't you ever speak to my daughter or wife like that Alex Milton!"

Torch stepped back, glaring at her warily, he was trembling slightly, whether from shock because Mae was dying, or from anger towards Lexi wasnt entirely clear.

Lexi ran to Mae's side, scooping up her hand. "Mae... Oh I'm so sorry for this..." She whispered, shaking her head. Her form wavered, and then the room brightened a little from her wings, which were brilliant here on earth.
Torch paled, his trembling only growing worse. "What is that thing?" He asked, mostly to himself.
Lexi closed her eyes, a river of light pouring from over her heart, down her arm, through her fingertips, and into Mae's hand. It traveled up her arm then, and then all the way to her heart where it flashed, and then faded.

Mae gasped got breath her eyes went back to the bright blue, she sat up and rubbed her head. "Torch?..."

Torch leaped up and hugged Mae, his hand tangling in her hair. "I was so worried." He whispered.

Mae hugged him close "I'll always come back..." She sighed happily and smiled at Lexi "thank you!"

Torch smiled and sighed, kissing her hair and drinking her in. When he looked back and Lexi wrapped up in Damon's arms, his eyes held mistrust, but he nodded. "Sorry Lexi. For my behavior."
Lexi nodded. "Its fine." She assured.

Mae sighed and ran a hand through her hair "Torch is holding in so much anger, he's angry at everything!"

Mae sighed and ran a hand through her hair "Torch is holding in so much anger, he's angry at everything!"

Lexi sighed, hugging Mae. "Its been quite the week for all of us." She said honestly. "Different people handle it differently I guess."

Mae sighed holding her close "I'm just scared he will do something he will regret..."

Lexi nodded. "And im nervous of the same thing for Damon. I hate that they have to fight over such little things."

Mae looked shocked and looked at Torch for an explanation, this was her sister their kids were best friends and Zach and Taylor were supposedly betrothed!

Lexi stared at them, her hand squeezing Mae's tightly. "What is going on?" She asked softly. "Im not leaving Mae."

Mae looked at Torch shocked "I'm not leaving Lexi! The twins won't leave Demetri either!"

Lexi stared at Torch, and then at Mae. She couldnt deny that it was her fault Mae had been dying. If only she didnt have these cursed powers, then Taylor wouldnt have them, and her best friend wouldnt be in danger and leaving her. She bit her lip and took a deep breath. "Please excuse me." She whispered, jumping up and running to the bathroom which she locked herself inside as the tears spilled over.

Damon gave Torch a deathly glare "hope you freeze!" He hissed and unlocked the bathroom door and held Lexi close to his chest "shh I know it wasn't your fault...shh I've got you..."

Lexi leaned into his chest, crying quietly. "But it was my fault!" She sniffled, "My fault that those powers are so dangerous!" She turned her face into his shirt. "Maybe its a good thing you sent Mae away." She whispered, her voice muffled. "Now I cant hurt her." Her last words dissolved into tears.
Torch slowly let his wings pull back from his body, concealed at his back once more. He hugged Mae tightly, his face pressed against her. His shoulders shook as he cried. He couldn't hide it. He couldn't act like he was strong, not right now. Not when his best friend had died.
