How do you score on these book quizzes? For this challenge, you can count books that you started and abandoned after at least 100 pages count or series where you read at least one book. Let us know the name of the quiz and your score (edit as you work through them). Feel free to suggest links to other quizzes from official sources and I'll add them.

Who's the most bookish nerd around here?

Oh, wow, the 1000-book list from The Guardian is no joke. Now that I've seen it, I need to find a way to retire early so that I can get started. That is most definitely the best list in existence. Only 904 books left to go! ;)

Paul (Life In The Slow Lane) (paullovesgin) Whoa! You're way ahead of me. I better start getting into the "good books" a bit more.

At least there are a few time travel books on the list!
I scored a 53-some of the choices are very interesting.

Your tendency toward classics pays off for that list for sure. :-)

Cheryl (cherylllr) BBC only 6 - I read 44. Most of them when I was much younger, like Dickens and Grapes of Wrath, which I'd prefer to reread before counting them. But definitely more than 6 have I read carefully and even repeatedly. Otoh, some I've not even heard of....

50 Before you die - I read 24. Again, some I barely remember struggling through for school, others are favorites. Most of the others I actually don't want to read, so I guess I'll just have to die first....

I'll be back to edit more....

GoodReads 100 - I read 20. And only one or two are on my to-read list. I look forward to making time to investigate the SF lists.

Garrett Smith (garrettsmith) | 246 comments It's the GR site. It's been hinky all day. Sometimes links won't load at all, or are terribly slow.

Tracy Quarrell | 5 comments I got 50 on the BBC site, I was pleased with that. The link worked for me, hope it returns for you other guys. Lots of the classics I had read while I was still at school.

Here's the original Guardian article listing the 1000 must-read books:
http://www.theguardian.com/books/2009....

It's divided into the following categories:
• Comedy
• Crime
• Family & Self
• Love
• Science Fiction & Fantasy
• State of the Nation
• War & Travel

Kind of weird categories, huh? Click around on the site, and you'll find more about each category that might interest you. I think I still find it a little overwhelming,
