I am doing the search for someone else. I do not know an age for the children though the reader believes the girl left written notes at the bus stop for the boy to reach out to him, so school age and the reader does remember it as a YA book in the 70's. The boy was mute by choice but the reader does not remember the issue. I know this is vague, but trying to help a patron. Thanks for any help!
