Has anyone else read this book yet? I thought it was the best one yet. And I absolutely love when Walt says "Boy Howdy".

Another great book by Craig! can't get enough of his books! I loved Vic and Lucian in this one! they were both off the chain with their antics! No one kills a coffee urn like Lucian! lol!

Dana Chambers | 1 comments I about died laughing over that, I loved that all Walt had to do was just go and buy a new coffee pot....

Dana it was a hilarious scene and I loved Walt's reaction.

Susan (mtnred) | 47 comments Lucian and the coffee urn was priceless. I've read it and also listened to George Guidall do the audio version. No one Boy Howdy's like he does.

Loved it! Anytime Lucian appears, whether TV or book, its going to be fun!

message 7: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Lockwood | 3 comments I am totally addicted. I have read every book in the series and watch the show religiously. I think the last time I was this captivated by a fictional character I was six and it was a fat guy in a red suit!!!

Santa is quite attractive!! Even to us old ladies!!

Rachel Lockwood | 3 comments Very true!! At this stage of my life, I'd rather wake up next to Walt!!

Joy Walker | 13 comments Read it & loved it. Only complaint I have is it was too short. I started & finished in the same day. As usual Walt/Henry were great. How many people can say that their best friend would drive to a ND casino in Winter just to make sure nothing happens to them?

message 11: by Sierra (new)

Sierra Loved this book because it had a lot of Lucien and Vic with Henry thrown in. Can always use more Henry. Loved Vic's entrance! She keeps Walt on his toes. I loved she went head to head with Lucien and got the best of him. He blinked!

Kim | 14 comments Really enjoyed this one, very funny (if you add Lucien in the mix you know it's going to be hilarious!).

Susan (mtnred) | 47 comments I read an interview with Craig Johnson who was discussing the dark nature of the plot. He mentioned this to George Guidall, his audiobook reader, and George told him it was one of the funniest books he'd written. Craig was surprised so George brought up the coffee urn and Vic. Craig said that he must have done it unconsciously to balance out the other.

Sierra I actually thought A Serpent's tooth was much darker than Any Other Name. I agree with George. It's funny Craig is not always the best judge of what his readers will respond to as he thought Walt was a one book character. It was his publisher that said there was enough for series of books in Walt's story and they wanted him to write more Walt stories. I didn't like his ending in A Serpent's tooth or Walt and Book at all and almost decided to not read any more of his books.

Susan (mtnred) | 47 comments A Serpent's Tooth was dark, but it had Orin Porter Rockwell and Flicka for comic relief.

They weren't as good as Lucien and Vic in Any Other Name IMO.
