Paul (halfmanhalfbook) | 62 comments Really enjoyed this when I read it late last year. Wohlleben puts forward some plausible theories and examples as to why things happen in a particular way in a woodland. Some of them are incredible, but he has looked at the total ecosystem of a woodland and seems to have a deep understanding of the way that they work. My review of the book is here

Lisa Linnnell-Olsen (lisalinnell-olsen) This book has led me to notice more about the trees I see on my walks. Now I am looking above to see whether branches reach towards or away from another, the variation in height, and looking at other clues to see how the trees connect to make up the forest. Very cool way of looking at things.

Christopher G. Egg (readsslowly) So much more going on under the surface than roots absorbing water. Trees assisting each other and fungi/tree relationship similar to lichens. The various ways they communicate, the sounds they make and responses to sounds. An amazing book, I'll never look at a tree or forest the same way again.
