Task 20.1 Most Improved Player - Hana C.'s Task: Operation!

Operation is a fun skill-based game in which the player attempts to remove various "ailments" from a patient with tweezers, without touching the sides of the cavity the ailment is in and setting off a buzzer.

In honor of the game that I've spent many hours playing with my family, pick one of the following "ailments" (options) and read one book that fits that option.

1. Broken Heart: Cure the patient's broken heart by reading a book with the genre "Romance*" on the main book page.

2. Charley Horse: Read a book with a horse on the cover, or with the genre "Western*" on the main book page.

3. Funny Bone: Read a book with the genre "Humor*" on the main book page.

4. Writer's Cramp: Read a book with a book, either by itself or with many others on a shelf or in a stack, on the cover.
The Rise & Fall of Great Powers by Tom Rachman Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult The Shadow of the Wind (The Cemetery of Forgotten Books, #1) by Carlos Ruiz Zafón Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin

*Genres may be embedded or stand-alone.

Required: Indicate the option. If you pick a cover option, include the cover when you post.

NOTE: Books with genre "Children's" or "Kids" that are at least 100+ pages and conform to all other SRC rules may be used for this task.

NOTE: Books with genres “Graphic Novel,” “Sequential Art,” “Comics,” and “Manga” that conform to all other SRC rules may be used for this task.

Bea Hana, it works if you verify them in this thread also. Members have the option of verifying genres with the task creator or in the genre thread.

Hi Paul! I doubled checked with the moderators- and if a book does not have a genere listed on it's main page at the time of posting- it is not eligible. So at this time Hideout Valley doesn't work.

Nancy (nancyhelen) | 64 comments Hi, I just wanted to make sure that War Horse by Michael Morpurgo would work for Option 2? There is only a part of the horse on the cover - is it enough? Also, although it is YA/Children's it is 182 pages, but I did think I had better confirm.

War Horse approved for Option 2, enjoy and I hope you don't cry as near as much as I did over it!

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

I only have to do one of the four options to claim points right?

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

All 20 point tasks are single book ones- so yes, just one of the four.

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok thank you :) I just joined so I am still getting familiar with how things work.
