...to make GR readable again.

This is what I was doing last night before all the drama at our place.

I was still having trouble with how GR looks now. I did install a very basic addon, but it stopped working for me.

It was designed for Firefox, but it also works on Chrome (which is what I use)

The usual at your own risk warning, but I was getting really sore eyes. Early days but so far I love it.

I have been trying to get them to fix the My Challenge on my app, which since they updated a bit ago has stopped listing my books on my phone. I rarely use a computer as my husband and son are on it all the time. I used to have my own, but my son killed it. Then every appliance in the house decided to die within six weeks of each other, and replacing my computer became an item way down on the list. I use My Challenge when I am filling out books read, pages read, etc for various groups. I can see them if I go to web site, but everything is smaller & it is frustrating. Apps are supposed to be convenient. Don't mind me, I am turning into a mushroom because of the unceasing rain since Friday, high winds--long weekend with my hub but no one wants to go out, including the dog. Therefore, I am reading & I want Goodreads to work more smoothly, thus I am feeling grouchy.

Grouch away Kim - I was worried my GR addiction was going to turn me blind. Day 2 on Sam's addon & I'm loving it. Did I mention Georgia font? & it hides the start of the descriptions of books in your feed. As a GR librarian, that made me crazy - I had to get rid of ALL CAPS, typos and sales in second hand copies.(a lot of GR info is imported by bots)

I would love a new computer, but down the priority list as well.

I've been using an add on for a while on my desktop PC.
But haven't found one that will work on the tablet. I don't use the app as I didn't like it at all. My problem is that the reading challenge page is only half way across the screen - this is the only page that this happens on (that I've found anyway - some areas of Goodreads don't interest me so I never go near them)
When I click back to the main page everything is normal sized again.
I reported it at the time, plus emailed, and have mentioned it again but had no response. Now my challenge numbers are all screwed up and I'm seriously wondering if I'm wasting my time on here - I only visit the groups I'm involved in and have restricted my librarian duties to fixing books that are on my shelves.

I have an Amazon Fire which acts as a back up to my increasingly cranky laptop. At $50 or less it is adequate for my email and internet connections as well as streaming free videos and downloading books from Amazon.

I'm not buying anything but e-books anymore. I don't have space. Since the e-book version of Snowdrift won't be available until October, I won't be participating in the discussion of it in March.

Is there an e-book of Pistols for Two you could read, Howard? Snowdrift is basically that with a couple additional stories. Some people are just reading or re-reading Pistols for Two.

I think the 3 extra stories for Snowdrift are all available online - Pursuit definitely. I'll post the links when I put the threads up.

Sorry Howard I didn't even occur to me to check the availability of Snowdrift as a kindle or ebook. :(
