25.10 - Laurie ME's Task: Baseball All Stars
The Baseball All Star Game is held in July each year and gives the baseball world a chance to celebrate its best players from the end of the previous season and beginning of the present season. The first All Star Games was held in 1933 at Comiskey Park in Chicago, IL and has been held each summer since. For the players not picked to participate, it represents a chance to take a three day break. For the player chosen, it’s a chance to get together with other players who are considered the best- Baseball Almanac’s All Star Game

Chose two different options and read one book for each:

1. Baseball: Read a book involving baseball OR if you prefer a different sport, with the genre Sports on the main book page. The genre may be embedded or stand alone

2. All Star Game: Read a book set in one of the cities that hosted the All Star Game
Required: Identify the city

3. Home Run Derby: one of the most favorite of the non-game activities: Read a book with at least 100 ratings that has an average rating of 4.0 or better
Required:Include the average rating and number of ratings when you post.

4. Ball Park Food and Drink: Read a book with food or drink on the cover
Required: Include the cover

5. And, because it’s a three day break for the majority of the major league players: Read a book that you want to read that meets SRC rules, just because.

Required: Indicate the options

This one is on the bubble, so I'm asking for approval just in case. It has plenty of ratings, but it's a 4.03, so I want to be ok just in case.

Thanks for checking on it. :-)

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 4447 comments Question about Option 1:
1. Baseball: Read a book involving baseball or if you prefer a different sport, with the genre Sports on the main book page.

Does "SPORTS" have to be on the main page ONLY if the book is about a different sport than baseball?

Or does "SPORTS" have to be on the main page even if the book involves baseball?

If the book revolves around baseball but doesn't have sports on its main page, that will work. All other sports need to have the genre sport in any fashion on its main page.

Option 2: Monkeewrench (Minneapolis, MN)

A line from the description reads: If they tell the Minneapolis police of the link between their game and the murders...

Option 3: Crossing to Safety

Jamie | 421 comments For option 2.

All Star Game: Read a book set in one of the cities that hosted the All Star Game
Required: Identify the city

I have already read the book, most of it takes place in NYC (which has hosted the All Star game) although some takes place in Houston (which just hosted last year!) Will that work? I can cite both cities or just NYC.

Six Degrees of Separation

But when the opening of a night club brings Mac to New York City and a break in the Leviticus investigation leads Sam to Houston, they discover how closely their worlds have been connected from the very beginning.

Also, Can you approve Loyalty in Death with a 4.26 rating and 14,400 ratings.
Thanks

The second book is fine
The first book depends on being OK by SRC guidelines, also needs to be approved as a ebook.
