Have you ever been hooked on an author but not know why? I am really liking Colleen Hoover's books right now. I picked up Confess a few weeks ago because I liked the cover and then quickly followed it up with Maybe Someday. I don't usually like romance (and these are definitely about finding love) but these books seemed very realistic and not over the top lovey-dovey or sexual. There's always a twist that is revealed at the end and the author includes additional content, like soundtracks or artwork that can be find online. Just a fun, quick read.

Does anyone else have a author that you just can't get enough of? Or books/authors that you look to for a break from the heavy or difficult reads?

Carrie Chiles | 1 comments I have been hooked on Charlaine Harris. I started with the Sookie Stackhouse series. This was not my normal type of book but they were very addicting and I read the entire series. I am now reading the Aurora Teagarden series. It is just as addicting. I have so many other books I want to read but every couple books I read one of these for fun.

It's Stephen King for me again after a long break. And Lauren Willig, although the series I liked seems to have ended and I don't care for her stand alone books as much.

I have to spread out books by authors I love, because I'm sad when I've read them all and have to wait for them to write more :)

Example, I love the Ceepak mysteries (Fun House, Tilt a Whirl, etc.--adult mysteries featuring an ex-military detective and a young newbie cop, tough subjects, a little gory, set in a beach town in NJ) by Chris Grabenstein (author of "Mr. Lemoncello's Library Olympics" and other awesome juvenile fiction books!), but I'm working my way through them because there are only 8 or 9 of them.

Another is the Gretchen Lowell/Archie Sheridan series by Chelsea Cain (tough Portland detective Archie was captured and tortured by beautiful psycho Gretchen, who gets caught and put away but still has her fingers in all sorts of crazy murdery business Archie has to solve; psychologically interesting; some violence/gore).

When I'm not reading about murderous nutjobs, I tend toward fun juvenile fiction (Stuart Gibbs & Carl Hiaasen have been favorites lately) or chick lit (Marian Keyes is a go-to).

I've never read Hoover, Harris, OR Willig, so I'll have to check some of those out!!!
