He was my most favorite character in the story. Louis was taught and nurtured by Wendell, obviously because he saw something in him that he would learn and treasure those stories. Loved him.
He is a fantastic kid. So knowledgable and he absorbed Wendell's teaching. I agree with Veronica. It makes Wendell's death sadder.
It really does. The kid is a natural born storyteller, though, because he learned a lot from Wendell in a very short period of time. And, he was key to the search and ultimately nailing Willie.
