When Cork goes to see Stormy Two Knives, he's apparently followed by FBI agents (so we believed them to be) Harris, Sloan and Grimes who forced him to assist in finding Shiloh. What did you think of their tactics at that time? Did you question their authority?

Phrynne | 607 comments I thought what I always think when I read books about the FBI - do they really behave that way???? Or is it only in books?
Since Cork seemed to think that although it was bad behaviour it was not unusual I went along with that.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments It made me angry. I was wondering if they were "dirty" cops at that point.

The FBI has a lot of power and authority so the climate is ripe for abuse. I'm not sure if books represent them accurately, though.

I was really upset, too, as it was an abuse of power and it appeared that they were trampling all over Indian rights. They were way over the line.

Angela | 155 comments I thought they were heavy handed to get help. It's the kind of tactic I would expect from law enforcement back in the 1980's.
