I thought her actions were still kind of selfish and shallow. I thought she was admirable when she tried to save her neighbors kid from the boyfriend abuse, but a lot of her decisions made me scratch my head and ask what the heck was she thinking.
In the first book, I thought she was selfish and self absorbed. My opinion changed quite a bit here because I got to understand the woman underneath all of that image. I found her funny and realized she cared about others more than they realized. She shoots from the heart and a lot of her decisions were to protect other people.
She certainly made some questionable decisions but she discovered more from her investigations than the detectives! I ended up liking her a lot.

I really liked her in this. She took advantage of Fiona in book 1 but in this she was unselfish and tried to handle this on her own. She didn't want to interfere with Fiona and her wedding planning etc, or later bring danger to her. The only questionable decision I thought she made was when she was chased in the coffee shop, she runs out the back door and got trapped in the alley. I thought she should have stayed near people.
I thought she was smart, doing her own investigation. The cops were no help. She didn't even have a car.
I disliked Courtney intensely in the first book and agree also felt that was selfish and she took advantage of her sister. My opinion of her changed completely once I realized that her brash exterior concealed a good person who had a hard time trusting and opening up to others.
