Should Courtney have been forthcoming about what really happened in that car? Did it make sense that she didn't even share this information with her sister?

That was the part that baffled me. Fiona had good connection to the police and she has people she could trust to protect Courtney, like Jack and Nathan, yet she kept lying about what happened in the car. It irked me and didn't make me take to her character much.

I was baffled by this too, for the same reasons. I could see her not opening up to the policeman on the scene or Will. But Nathan was trying to prove her innocence.

I didn't get this either, but maybe it is just lack of trust stemming from her previous run ins with the police.

IIRC, Courtney has issues with people in authority. It made sense to me at the time that she was concerned no one would believe her.
