I read this back in 2005. It was a chapter book, no pictures, about 3 sisters (names were Alex, __, __). I remember one part mentioned their dad gave them all traditionally boy names.

It's a lighthearted novel about coming-of-age and getting along with each other. The eldest sister acts in a school play, Beauty and the Beast, and is excited because her crush is the costar. The middle sister mentions the aforementioned crush looks like a 'praying mantis.'

The book also had a bright pink cover.
