Bec | 54 comments Hello, please will you add an edition of 20 Letters to a Friend by Svetlana Alliluyeva. It is a 256-page hardback published by Hutchison & Co, London, in 1967, with no ISBN printed. The cover (dustjacket) art is shown at this Amazon listing:
https://www.amazon.com/20-Letters-Fri...
Thanks!

Bec | 54 comments Thanks! That was quick :-)

Codex | 3400 comments The Amazon page indicates ISBN 9780090853106, which is already on GR: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... and the WorldCat entry (for the same ISBN) matches the publication info specified in #1.

Should the newly created book [#2] perhaps be an ACE . . . ?

I don't think so, since Bec said the book has no ISBN. (In 1967 ISBNs were rare.) The Amazon listing also includes an ASIN (used by Amazon resellers for pre-ISBN editions), which suggests that the ISBN does not belong to this edition.

Alex | 2736 comments Sometimes the early editions have the ISBN in weird places (though of course it's much more likely that a 1967 edition just doesn't have an ISBN).

Bec, have you checked the spine of the book? There may be a sequence of letters and numbers that doesn't even look like an ISBN from which one can be formed.

Bec | 54 comments Through Alex's suggestion, I may have found an ISBN - the back flap of the dustjacket ends with the number 09 835310 5.
That number is used in listings for the book at AbeBooks (link below). Thank you to everyone for being thorough.
Also, I apologise for spelling the publisher's name wrong in my first post - it should be Hutchinson & Co (not Hutchison). Please will you correct the listing?

David Raz (davidraz) | 13428 comments That number is already taken by this version: 20 Letters To A Friend. I made a note indicating this is an alternative cover edition for that ISBN and corrected the publisher

Ooh, that looks like an SBN, the 9-digit predecessor to the ISBN (though I think you might have added an extra 3). 09 is the publisher code for Hutchinson, so it definitely lines up. Thank you for looking! :)

Bec | 54 comments Sorry, Alex - another typo in my postings - was a bit excited when I typed it! Thank you for updating the listing, David.
