Any | 3 comments I don't know the name, or the author. I really don't remember the plot. A few things that really stood out to me was a particular weapon used. It was shaped like an egg, same size and shape. When squeezed a sort of light beam would shoot out, and the user could control it. It was like a lightsaber, could cut anything. Very unique. Also there were personal force fields, but they only protected the front and the back, leaving the sides open for the arms. An egg user could twist the beam around and aim for the sides of the shields. These eggs may have been called Kobe eggs, or Cobe eggs, but that could be completely wrong.

These egg users I think were superhuman, genetically, aliens? They may have had their own ship. I don't remember more than that.

Thanks in advance!

Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments You might want to edit the title of your post with something like: "SF: novel (or series?) with unique, egg-like light-saber-ish weapon"

Was this a physical book or ebook? When did you read it? If it was a physical book, did it feel old (yellowing pages? older artwork?)? Right now, we're assuming it was bought (new?) in the US?, in English?

You can mark this request as solved by clicking the 'edit' link next to the subject line / title, and then selecting one of the "Solved" folders. This will help save our moderators some time.

You should also change the subject line / title to start "SOLVED: [then your existing title]" which helps people still find your request later.

Solved requests are almost as important as unsolved requests (eg, eg, so don't delete your info :D Otherwise it looks like this, which completely doesn't show how you generated *so* much interest for your book). The requests continue to exist in the archive, and people looking for your book end up on that page via search engine because of your description/keywords - which improves the whole world :)

I don't seem to be able to do either. I can only edit the body text.

Probably means you're on mobile, so it'll wait around until a Mod gets to it. I should've noticed/remembered your twitter link was a mobile link, and remembered that mobile isn't fully functional. I tend to forget that, since I don't use it. I guess I should re-write my cut-n-paste text :)
