The Fallen Star question

I am finding more & more authors are ONLY publishing for Kindle. I need ePub for my eReader and I find it really disappointing that the Authors release the 1st in a series in a format that anybody can read but the following books in the series are only in Kindle format. Does anybody have any suggestions to get around this?
