message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey! :)
Have any recent cravings? C:

message 3: by Emma (new)

Emma | 1267 comments Mm, nothing in particular, I have a few plots, but is there anything you want to do?

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

Could you show me your plots?
Because I really have nothing in particular when it comes to mind, haha. x)

message 5: by Emma (new)

Emma | 1267 comments Well how about you tell me what genres you like, and I'll do the plots based off of that?

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Mainly, I like fluffy/cutesy/romantic.
But I also like to dabble on dark and mysterious. :)
Hope that helps.

message 7: by Emma (new)

Emma | 1267 comments And realistic...okay
Do you prefer doubles or singles?
(I like doubles because it's fair, and while I can write the guy character I kind of don't really like it....)

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm fine with either. ^^
And I can play the guy if it's not something you prefer. :)

message 9: by Emma (new)

Emma | 1267 comments oh but then I feel bad
but I know doubles is harder
So whatever you think :)

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

No, haha, it's fine.
I can play the guy, haha. :)

message 11: by Emma (new)

Emma | 1267 comments Are you sure?
I'll try to find my singles plots then
gosh I haven't dug those up in a while O.o

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Yesss. :)
Alrighty. ^.^

Emma | 1267 comments 1. A summer camp is a getaway every summer for these two teens. They've gone every summer since they were children, but it wasn't until they were teenagers when they noticed each other. They basically dated for two months, and tried to stay in touch for the rest of the year. But now it's summer again, and they're both going back. Were either of them faithful? Do they still like each other, even love each other?

2. Character A and a doctor meet when character A is injured (possibly in some embarrassing or stupid way). The doctor treats character A, and this causes them to spend a bit of time together. They realize that they really like each other and start going out.

3. A girl and her boyfriend go on a winter ski trip together, and one of them ends up dying after they hit their head. The surviving character is heartbroken, but returns to the same school. They become really introverted and quiet. One of their old friends is really worried, and the two start to spend time together again, eventually falling in love.

4. (This idea isn't mine, but I thought it was really cute)
Two people who live across the world from each other become pen pals. They really like each other and still write even after the assignment is over. They videochat and get to know each other, then eventually meet in person. Over this time they managed to fall in love, but then the characters have to return to their homes. Will they still be able to hold onto their relationships?

5. A fanboy and a fangirl meet in a bookstore. Bonding over their mutual love of all things fictional, they become really good friends really quickly, eventually even falling in love? (I just think this could be really cute where they like, write fanfiction and cosplay and stuff I dunno)

I have more if you don't like any of those.

message 14: by Emma (new)

Emma | 1267 comments So, yeah :)

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Oops! Didn't see this. But I like 4. :)

message 16: by Emma (new)

Emma | 1267 comments Awesome! I really like that one too.
Would you want to write from the beginning, like the first letters they send and stuff, or just when they meet in person? I think there's appeal to both...

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Sure! I like the letter idea. :)

message 18: by Emma (new)

Emma | 1267 comments Okay! So we can do that, and write their letters to each other... Do you want to do characters now? How detailed should we make the characters? And what ages?

message 19: by [deleted user] (last edited Jun 05, 2014 08:04PM) (new)

Alrighty.
And I think it'd be better to not have profiles for this? Because they're writing letters to each other and we could use that as a way to enclose a photo of themselves?
And maybe around 15-17?

message 20: by Emma (new)

Emma | 1267 comments Oh, that actually sounds cool XD
Umm how about 17? And where do you want your character to live? I'm thinking they would be across the world from each other.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks. (:
And yeah, that sounds good. I'll make my charrie live somewhere like France? :/ I don't know, haha.

message 22: by Emma (new)

Emma | 1267 comments Okay, I'll probably put mine in like Canada or something. And they'd probably be doing it for an English assignment or something?

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Sure. (:

message 24: by Emma (new)

Emma | 1267 comments Awesome! If we're not doing character profiles...shall we start?

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

Sure! Can you? I need to go right now, haha. x.x

message 26: by Emma (new)

Emma | 1267 comments I'm actually getting off as well... I'll post in the morning. :)

Dear _________,

So I guess you have this assignment too, it would only make sense. It feels weird writing something, and starting it with 'dear', I feel like I should say hello. So, um, hello! I'm Brianna, but most people call me Bri or Anna. They haven't told me who this letter is going to, in fact, they haven't given me any information about you at all. I guess that's okay though, the whole point of this assignment is to get to know someone.

So I guess I should let you get to know me. I live and go to school in the lovely city of Toronto, and I'm trying to write this nicely on nice paper. As I'm sure you can tell by the smudging and stuff, it's not going very well. This is the second letter I've written, actually. I tried to use a calligraphy pen for the last one and I spilled ink all over the stationary, me being the klutz I am.

I'm seventeen, and I'm guessing you are too? Be prepared for the mandatory awkward introduction of all my interests. I read a lot, and I like to write. I also like to sing, but there are times when I sound like a dying whale. Some of the TV shows I enjoy include Grey's Anatomy, House M.D. and Doctor Who. So...Sci-fi and doctor shows, I guess.
Most of the books I read are dystopian or realistic, but there's the occasional fantasy novel in there. I'm also a very large fan of star wars.

I guess I'm not all that interesting, actually--I probably sound like the cardboard cutout of an atypical high school girl. So what about you?

P.S.
I know I am horrible at writing letters. It's just good that my handwriting's huge, so we can call this a page and a half.

Salutations,
Brianna Kingsley

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey Brianna,

Well, I guess I'm in the same shituation as you. I have to do this pen pal thing for extra credit since I don't exactly have good grades and I'm in the red zone for getting kicked out of the soccer team. So I hope this isn't too shabby or awkward, two things which I am in real life.

Ah, Toronto. My dad lives there with his girlfriend. I heard it gets very cold in the winter there. I wouldn't know since I live in Paris, France with my mother and little sister. She's almost five now. And haha, that's okay. Your handwriting's at least legible while mine isn't. I swear to God, there isn't a day when a teacher doesn't call me up to clarify a smudged word that I've scrawled out on my assignment. Hopefully, this letter doesn't cause you a headache from deciphering what the hell I'm actually talking about.

Well, as you've correctly guessed, I'm seventeen. I'm a guy, obviously. I guess reading and writing aren't my specialty (you can already guess beforehand by looking my handwriting) but I do love soccer. Instead of surfing the Internet 24/7, I like to stay active and dribble a soccer ball on my leg. I've never heard of Grey's Anatomy or House M.D., but I do know about Doctor Who. God, practically everyone I know is obsessed with it. I tried taking a crack at the first episode but it didn't make much sense to me.

I hope I don't sound like a boring jock. I know I'm more brawn than brains, but you know, it'd be nice to talk about something other than sports for once.

P.S. Your letter was not bad at all. :)

Greetings from France,
Alexandre Delacroix

Bonjour Alexandre!

I am really sorry if that was horribly offensive. I do know a bit of French, although it's the mandatory Canadian french, and I don't know how different they are. Maybe it's easier for you? I certainly hope french is easier for you than it is for me--I could get you to help me out sometime. If you do speak french. That may have been a horrible assumption on my part? I don't know. I am terribly dense when it comes to cultures, unfortunately.

Don't get me started on the cold. I basically refuse to leave the house as soon as we get past halloween until March. And your handwriting's fine, at least in my opinion. But then again, I've been proofreading my now 10 year old brother's work for almost four years now, so I may be desensitized. Although I did read "situation" as "shituation" at first. Which may not be that far off. English is a pretty good class for me, but my assignments for it got pushed down on my to-do-list until I needed extra credit as well.

House and Grey's Anatomy are both very formulaic doctor drama shows. I'm actually not sure why I like them so much, they get very predictable. I guess I hope to one day achieve some of the characters level of sarcasm? Maybe. Doctor Who is kind of interesting in the sense that you start off super confused, but as you watch more and more episodes, you kind of absorb the information and suddenly you're spouting information about gallifrey, the daleks and the last great time war. This is making me realize how much of a nerd I am, actually.

I've done a few sports in my time, but I must say I don't have much hand-eye coordination. The only one I was ever good at was volleyball, actually. If I'm trying for soccer I can basically only play defence, because I am a horrid runner and lack the sheer bravery of the goalies willing to stand in a net while letting people kick balls at them.

Au Revoir

(That's how you spell it, right?)
Although this really isn't a goodbye...I guess that was a mistake, but I'm not going to rewrite this whole letter.

Bonjour Brianna!

Haha, don't even worry about it! In fact, I thought that was kind of clever, how you tied that up. Well, to be honest, I don't like French that much. Maybe it was because all I ever heard my entire childhood was various French phrases. That's kind of why I prefer to speak in English. But I'm more than alright when it comes to French (modestly speaking, of course) and I'd be more than happy to help you out in any way. :)

Haha, winter there sounds like torture. Here in Paris, I guess it's cold. But the variety of winter sports that's available around Europe kinda takes your mind off of it. That said, though, frostbite isn't something I enjoy very much. And it's a great relief that you can decipher the muddle that's my handwriting. The shituation thing, though? It was on purpose. It's one of the words that's part of my dictionary, you know? To help emphasize more meaning into words, to make them more whole and like mine? Situations are usually bad things and shit... well, that's a bad thing, too. Damn it, was I too deep? If so, I'm sorry for embarrassing myself. I'm not too good with keeping the whole 'cool' image.

Ah, now that you mention it, I think I've seen House. Is it that drama thing where there's a hospital and the lead actor's got a scruffy beard or something? I apologize terribly on my poor description; as you can see, I'm not a very good writer, hence why I'm currently failing English.

I totally understand the sports thing. I used to be like that. Can I admit that in my younger years, I thought the objective of basketball was to kick the ball into a goal? It was quite unfortunate for me when I ended up at the hospital later and needed to get surgery on my foot. I've learned my lesson, but it's a good thing that in my mistake, I'm actually not too bad at soccer. Maybe when we meet in real life someday (considering that there's an actual chance of happening) and I'll help you with soccer. It's not too bad, really. I'm sure you'll catch on. :)

Good day to you,
Alexandre Delacroix

Ello Alexandre,

French just confuses me sometimes. I understand enough to stop asking why avoir is irregular and why the table is a girl, but still...sometimes the teacher just talks so quickly and all I understand from her sentence is: Hello! Today...talking. And that's not even half of what she said, so...yeah. Winter here sucks, simply because it's so cold. We can go skiing, or snowboarding, or skating, or ice fishing and all sorts of things--you just have to be willing to drive to them. But skating is easily available.

And it's fine to be deep--I won't ruin your reputation, I promise. Once when I was in...eighth or ninth grade, we had a music project to examine song lyrics and say the meaning. I gave a thirty minute speech on what Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" was really about. So while the whole shituation (see what I did there? :P) may be deep, it's not too deep. Shallow people are annoying anyways. Especially shallow girls. You know, the ones that obsess over their nails, hair, and boys. Like, not that I never care about my appearance, but the people who cry over chipped nail polish. You know.

Actually one thing that really bothers me (I'm about to go on a rant, I apologize) is when people laugh if you get upset over a broken nail. It's like, do you keep your nails that long? Did your nail just snap off from basically where your finger is? I don't care about my nail, it hurts.

But yeah, that sounds about right. Dr. House is a mean, sarcastic person who specializes in diagnosing weird cases. And he has a team of other doctors that you get to watch him deal with. I'm sorry too, I kind of died laughing at your basketball description. Then again, however, whenever I try to dribble I just drop the ball on my foot. I've never had to get surgery from a sports-related injury, but when I was nine I fell out of a tree and broke my arm. That's actually probably the worst way to do it. So embarrassing. So, how did you break your arm? Oh, I fell out of a tree.

And if we do meet up, please, can I go visit you in france? I've always wanted to go to Europe, I've just never had a good enough reason for my parents to let me.

Good day to you too!
Brianna Kingsley

Bonjour Brianna!

I like to think French is a complicated language, but nonetheless is beautiful. Or at least that's why my mother used to always tell me when I was working on my vocabulary when I was younger. I can understand your fury on the whole masculine and feminine stuff, but I've just given up on asking why when it comes to French. It makes everything a lot easier. Is it bad that I've never skated before? I don't know, it seems like everyone else around here has gotten the hang of it but me. I think you can understand how embarrassing it can be for me when I'm just watching from the sidelines whilst my little sister is doing all sort of pirouettes and shit.

Can I just say how amazed I am that you know Pink Floyd? It seems like everyone around here is obsessed with anything except rock. I can play "Comfortably Numb" on my guitar; maybe I'll show you when you head on over to France. :) And I get the shallow thing. The guys and I don't care much for the girls who dwell so much on their appearances only. We call them the Pastels because they're so washed out and look the same; pretty yet bland. And from what you describe as some of the girls in your school, I assume they're Pastels as well.

Yay, I was right! Maybe I'll give the show a chance once break nears. And it's okay. :) My foot's all healed now, so there's nothing else to do but laugh at the experience. And God, I'm so sorry but you fell out of a tree when you were nine? Please enlighten me more. I'd really love to know.

And sure! I don't do so well with traveling anyways; I always manage to get sick at least once when I'm on an airplane. Annnnddddd... I totally just screwed my image there, didn't I? I don't blame you if you don't think I'm macho anymore. I mean, seriously, what kind of man gets sick from flying on an airplane?

P.S. I think we've been talking enough to be curious of each other's appearances. Here's a photo of me. :) (view spoiler)

Bonne nuit,
Alexandre Delacroix

Dear Alexandre,

I decided it was time to make this look like a formal letter again. Although it feels stiff and awkward. As for the french, it is the language of love. La langue de l'amour. I have the feeling I may have just written "the tongue of love..." but hey, I tried. And no, it's not bad. Better than the stupid groups of people who join together in groups of five and hang out across the whole rink. Like, first of all, if one of you falls at this point, you're all going down. Second, you are increasing your chances of falling, and third, you are being annoying and stupid.

Speaking of when I get over to France, maybe I can help you learn how to skate. And I'd love to hear you play guitar. Instruments are not really my forte. The Pastels kind of reminds me of the Plastics from Mean Girls, but I like it. It's accurate.

And if you really must have the full story, I was with a group of friends, and a few of them dared me to climb the tree. As a little kid, I always had a fear of heights, but also too much pride. So I climbed the tree, panicked, then fell out and fell wrong. And there was a broken arm. Really not that big of a deal. But also very embarrassing, especially for me as a nine-year-old.

And don't worry, everyone reacts differently to travel. If what you see doesn't match your inner ear...it messes with your system. Years of reading and watching tv in cars and such has made me pretty resilient to anything nausea reducing. And...that wrecked my image. I'm such a nerd, I'm sorry.

P.S. Here's a picture of me, as well.

Dear Brianna,

Good call! I almost forgot this was for school, haha. I guess you really do lose track of your thoughts when you're actually enjoying your assignments. And you actually did write it correctly. :) Kudos to you. And thanks for not making me so humiliated on the fact that I've never skated before. Makes me feel a lot better, knowing that your logic shines on the sheer stupidity people have these days.

And that's actually great! I'd love that, actually. And maybe I can show you how to play the guitar. It's not really that hard. You just have to know the right chords and the corresponding notes each string goes to. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it once you actually see how the magic works.

Ah... with friends and dares, nothing ever comes out right in the end. But I wish my sympathies to your nine-year-old self. :) It must have sucked to have a broken arm at that young of an age. :/

Thanks once more. :) And haha, not even. Your image in my eyes is still quite high, so you can count your blessings. I don't really like a lot of people and might I even dare to go further and say that you're the first girl I've ever talked to like this. In real life, I'd be stumbling over myself. Again. I screwed myself there again.

P.S. You have a lovely smile. :)

Good morning,
Alexandre Delacroix

Dear Alexandre,

Logic always wins, except when the people around you refuse to listen to it. Which is actually a situation I often find myself in. It's hard for me to forget this is for school because I have to photocopy all the letters and give them to my teacher--no way am I giving him the real thing. He commented that it was supposed to be letter-writing, not casual conversation. So here I am, sounding all formal.

That sounds great too. I always feel so awkward writing things because it's like: I'm smiling but you can't see that, you don't know that. Anyways, I did band at school one year, and let's just say I was a disgrace to the instrument of the flute. When I tried piano, it wasn't any better. And I already told you that I'm a bit of a bad singer. At least I know I'm bad.

I've actually had some of the worst dares over the years. My friends are also dirty-minded and occasionally unoriginal, so there are times where it's like: Go hump this, hump that, now twerk. Like, really? Or take of your shirt and spend a round topless. At least none of those actually resulted in broken bones, however.

And aw that's so nice of you! I'm a really awkward person myself, I don't know if you could tell. But yeah. You still seem fine in my eyes, so....uh...yeah? See, there's the awkwardness. I wasn't even sure where I was going with that.

P.S. Aw, thanks! Would you be interested in talking outside of the letters and maybe sorting out some real details for paris over break? My mom said it could happen. :D

It was really the afternoon when I got this and it's midnight as I finish this letter but good morning anyways,
Brianna Kingsley
