How to get signed books?

I am a great fan of books and will like to have a few signed books in my collection but I don't know how to get them.

Vanshika, the main way I get books signed is by going to book signings, most often at local independent book stores or book conventions. Often the same local independent book stores that have the signings have the authors sign books to be sold later to those who could not make the signing itself. Keep an eye on the calendars of any independent book stores you might have in your area and also check out the websites of your favorite authors, they often post where they will be going to on tour or even will offer signed books for sale. And sometimes its purely by luck, in that used books I have bought in store or ordered online just happened to have been signed. Hope this helps.

All good advice, Joseph. Some authors have virtual signings available for pre-order. If you know a favorite author has a new release coming, check their website to see if they are set up for virtual signing. The orders are usually shipped on release day so you receive in just a couple of days later. I have quite a few I gave gotten this way.

I live in India and there are not many bookstores here which are visited by authors.

Bummer. Then like Linda said, probably the best way for you to get signed books is to check out the websites of your favorite authors. Authors that offer online sales of their books will often sign their books if you order or preorder the books from them.
