Mists of Avalon Epilogue

Ok...so I've just finished reading MOA. I've read the epilogue three times and really can't piece it together; is the Goddess the Virgin Mary? Did Morgaine become a Christian? Are there any study guides anyone recommends? All in all I really enjoyed the book but I'm lost on this last innuendo.

Also, what to read next? MOA was my first adult Arthuriana.

It's been so long since I read it! I'm sorry I can't help you decipher the epilogue.

As for more adult Arthuriana, are you interested in fiction or nonfiction?

Non: I loved Geoffrey Ashe's explorations of historical possibilities. There is a lot of material out there, and some of the archaeological studies are fascinating as well.

Fiction: "The Once and Future King," and the Mary Stewart books to start.
