Books about a long-time crush finally noticing/falling in love

Would love to read some YA, NA, or Adult books, preferably with a female narrator, about having a long-time crush on someone, and then the crush finally falls in love back. Cheesy romance novels are fine. Could be after leaving town and returning after several years, or a boy she's loved since elementary school finally notices her, or a friend's brother or brother's friend falling for her, etc. No stalking or anything Lifetime movie-creepy. Anyone know any books like that?

Well, of course, there is the gender reversed story in Anne of Green Gables, where it is the boy that has the long time crush and the girl eventually comes around.

KEEPER OF THE LOST CITIES I think most of the people who read the book are very angry at the main character Sophie to realize that one of the other characters I will not reveal their name is madly In love with her but when she finally realizes it it is in book nine and they are thick books but the series is so amazing and is still releasing books

well this is really not the main point of this book, but The Mother Daughter Book Club series features one of the MCs, Jess, having a crush on her friend's brother. i think they finally get together in Pies & Prejudice?
unfortunately though, this is pretty much middle grade :)
