Deepa Kalangi | 2 comments Can you review my book please, if interested in the blurb below,
https://www.amazon.com/Fortune-Fair-S...

Swathi, a beautiful young lady hails from a traditional, conservative family. Just like any other young lady, she had her dreams of life; her first love and childhood friendship. But her father has different aspirations on her since childhood. He disapproves her first love and long friendship. Under compelling situations, she sacrifices her love and moves ahead allowing a man of her father's choice to hold her hand forever. While this pacifies her father's convictions on religious faith and tradition, it puts her into the biggest challenges after she travels far away from her family, place, friends to live with her husband in the United States. Not one single moment passes by without her trial to win over her husband's heart. Would that man help her carry her dreams forward and prove to be the man of choice as her family expected or wipe away the beautiful smile on her lips? Would she be able to regain the lost friendship or the fist love?

Fortune Fair is a tale that blends culture, religion, and perspective of two opposite cultures... in a poise, subtle, heart touching way!!

Russell Gibbs | 22 comments The Principle of Oneness A Practical Guide to Experiencing the Profound Unity of Everything by Russell Anthony Gibbs Russell Anthony Gibbs

I am seeking reviews for my new spiritual self-help book The Principle of Oneness.

All ready an Amazon bestseller, The Principle of Oneness is a concise 14,000 word spiritual self-help book. If you would like to review this book please email me at russellagibbs@msn.com with your format preference. (mobi, epub or paperback)

The Principle of Oneness synopsis:

The Principle of Oneness expounds on the first principle from the award winning and bestselling book, The Six Principles of Enlightenment and Meaning of Life and is the second in this series of eight books on enlightenment.

Many have said "We are all one" but what does that really mean? This practical guide helps you understand and experience the profound unity of everyone and everything. Author Russell Anthony Gibbs explains the science behind the connections of everything both physical matter and nonphysical energy. Gibbs supports his points with quotes from scientists, enlightened beings, spiritual leaders, philosophers and others. Great minds like Albert Einstein, Buddha, Aristotle, Rumi and Jesus all understood the profound Oneness of the Universe. Gibbs further clarifies some of the misconception about the Universe/God as well as explains how to live and experience the Principle of Oneness.

Award winning and bestselling author Russell Anthony Gibbs is a philosopher and spiritual seeker on a quest for enlightenment. His research into Baha'ism, Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Sufism and Taoism greatly influences his spiritual and philosophical perspective. He is also profoundly influenced by the information from two channeled entities, Seth and Abraham. He further incorporates quantum mechanics, physics and psychology as well as concepts from the works of Albert Einstein, Carl Jung, Sigmund Freud and Stephen Hawking. Gibbs's communication style is concise, intense and deep. He would rather express wisdom in brief, powerful quotes and concise paragraphs than in complicated, long-winded explanations. Espresso Wisdom is short, strong, rich insight. Like espresso coffee, it gives an intense jolt of enlightenment. Enlightenment is an awakening, and Espresso Wisdom is meant to help jumpstart you on your journey. Espresso Wisdom Short, Strong, Rich Insight! ™

"It left me with a much deeper understanding of who I am and my profound connection to absolutely everything. With this highlighted awareness, my approach to life has been realigned in a powerful way." --Constance Messmer-Author and Speaker

Rajat Mitra | 5 comments Hi I am Rajat Mitra and an author of the book called 'The infidel next door'. If stories of bildungsroman, coming of age stories interest you then you may find my book interesting. My book is around characters who are Hindu and Muslim children growing up to adulthood in a temple and a mosque existing side by side in Kashmir and one that unleashes powerful forces beyond their control that shapes who they become. When a movement trying to establish an Islamic Kashmir by throwing out the Hindus begins in Kashmir, fanaticism and mass violence starts to take over their land and leads them to confront their inner selves for answers not available in their religious texts.

I am a debutante author and would like my book to be reviewed. The book is based on my years of experience of working in communities facing exile, mass violence and trauma.

The book is available on amazon.com and all other portals of amazon both as paperback and kindle version.

Synopsis of the book

The Infidel Next Door is a saga of the undying spirit of a man while facing loss and betrayal in the name of religious persecution. It is set in the period before the seventh and last exodus of Hindus from Kashmir in 1989.
When Aditya, a Hindu priest, is asked to go back to a temple in Kashmir where his ancestor was killed for refusing to convert to Islam, he decides he must go. Though the attacks - both on his family and on the temple - occurred three centuries ago, the wounds are yet to heal.
When he arrives, he discovers a mosque has been built next door where Anwar, the imam’s son, is becoming a fanatic to escape memories of a humiliation.
As seen through their eyes, the novel describes the anguish and terror when Anwar slowly begins to see his relationship to God as the only true one and gives in to the demand of his mentor to throw out hundreds of thousands of Hindus to create a Kashmir without infidels.
A story so steeped in haunting imagery of a once beautiful land and its forgotten people, it brings to fore one of the deepest fear of our times that when a man gets caught up in a struggle over religious fundamentalism, does his conscience still remain a force to decide his ultimate choice?

Christian Nadeau | 6 comments Hi Ariel,

I think my novel "Seeds of Hatred" might interest you for review.

It's a 180k words, dark themed, adult fantasy novel (Main themes around vengeance, what we can miss if we let it consume us). There are some horror elements to it, but it's mainly epic/gritty fantasy.

Here's the blurb:
As a former assassin, a man on the run for years, Marac survived taking on odd jobs, living on society’s fringe, never putting down roots for fear of having to run again. Until he’s hired to steal a trinket from the Brotherhood.

Newly graduated, Soren is ready to shoulder the responsibilities that come with an officer’s commission. Serving in the Brotherhood of Khan is a privilege, one he abandoned everything for. But when an Angel calls on him, he knows his first assignment is more than it seems to be.

As a Lightbearer, gifted with the power to shape light to her will, Alex lived a sheltered life in Tyranor’s monastery. Should the Brotherhood find out what she was, they’d kill her, but the monastery is underground, safely hidden from their prying eyes.

Then it all comes crashing down. A terrible game is played, and when the powerful move, pawns are doomed to be sacrificed.

Are they?

Hello Ariel. I'm a former nuclear weapons physicist who spent 13 years working on a trilogy from 1926 through 2050. I had to rewrite it after the election of Trump. Laura Pritchard | 8 comments Hi there!

My first book, Monarchy, has just been published on amazon. I would love a review if that is possible? My book is a science fiction, dystopia setting, with a young adult/adult.

Monarchy

Length: 184 pages

Synopsis:

In the times after the reformation, the leaders of the new world have created the perfect society. There is no exaggerated wealth or famishing poverty. There is no starvation or crime or disease. The citizens of the sectors are secure and well nourished, forever protected by the life the Monarchy have so gracefully afforded.

No one mentions the things that are lacking. Constance thinks about it often.

At the age of sixteen, Constance is snatched from her family in a twisted ceremony called 'Removal.' Forced to reside in the Citadel, the fortress of the Monarchy, she faces a brutal induction to evolve into a soldier of the Brigade; sworn peace keepers of the sectors. While she grapples with the feeling of revolution that rage in her mind, Constance is trained by Calloway, the guard with an elusive past who shadows her every move.

Remaining peaceful, however, is the last thing on the minds of the inhabitants of sector six. Uprisings and rebellions are common place with her own kinsfolk being injured and killed as a consequence. When the time comes, Constance must decide which side she will choose in a battle that will determine her future. It is a choice that she should never have to face; weighing her own life against the lives of those that she loves.

This is my first novel so am a bit new to the field but would love some honest critique. If you need any more information and would like a free copy, please feel free to email me on laura_jayne_15@hotmail.com

Many thanks,

Laura.

Brin Murray (brintmurray) | 10 comments Hi Ariel
Horrible feeling you've been swamped by responses!!...
But if you fancy a bit of YA dystopian, I'd love a review. Children Of The Furnace isn't out yet, publication date October 17th.

"A compelling and well-written novel with a unique and well thought out world…” Roisin Haycock, former commissioning editor One World Books

Truth died in the fires. Only through courage can it be born again.

Under the iron rule of the Revelayshun, one boy discovers the truth…

‘Ty promised my ma he’d bring me up right. Bring him up to hear the rhythm beat, she said, and to feel the heartsblood warm. Not Strong – not in their way – but strong in the ways of the heart.’

When the Revelayshun murders his pa, Wil discovers through savage inquisition that he’s marked as a Heater, one of the old-time heretics who burned up the world.
But Wil holds the key to a secret. Sekkerland’s Shame, the Atrocity, is a great lie – and the Revelayshun will use fire, blood and death to hide the truth.
Can Wil fight the absolute power of blind fanaticism, and save them all?

Hope it tickles your tastebuds!! My email's brin.t.murray@gmail.com.

thanks, brin

First, thank you for offering to read and review books for authors. As you know, this is critically important for authors and sometimes it's a struggle to get reviews.

I have a book that crosses genres, it's an action adventure/thriller with very light sci-fi aspects (I see that you don't review sci-fi, but it is only a very light aspect of my book. Think Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull). My book is The Bermuda Connection and it's the second in a series. Thanks for considering!

Making money and getting laid.
Those are my priorities.

Working at our bar, both come easily, especially when the last name Deluca ignites fear in anyone. Let's just say, our business stays under the radar--as long as we have the means to silence anyone who thinks otherwise.

But when, Adele Day, our new waitress, comes along, she skyrockets to the top of my priority list. With curves like hers, I know exactly what I want. Turns out, Adele's got secrets of her own. And suddenly, she just might need the kind of help only the Delucas can grant. Believe me, I am one dirty little asset she's going to be lucky to have.

There is precious little room for love in a dead city, a dead world. For not quite everyone died. Better if they had. Armed bands stalk the streets. In the shadows worse enemies prowl, horrible enemies. At the center of this bleak urban waste lies a makeshift fort. It is the refuge of Liz Walker and Pat O’Shea. They are the last living couple in the shell of what was once Seattle.

Here on these dead streets a woman and a man must learn to love and fight. They bear weapons scavenged from the dead. Each of them carries the shadow of a past that could threaten their future.

Amid murderous survivors and unlikely allies, the threat of hunters and the danger of trusting, Liz and Pat must battle for their lives. The stakes are high. For they must protect their new-found love as well as their lives. To lose either means to face alone this horrific world.

Tom Behr) (tom_behr) | 23 comments Hi Ariel

First, thank you for being so generous with your time and creativity in offering to review members' books! It really does make a difference to authors.

My second recently-published historical novel, The Most Bold and Daring Act of the Age: A Henry Doyle Novel is set in North Africa during the Napoleonic wars. Master spy Henry Doyle, hero of my first novel Blood Brothers, comes out of retirement at age 55 in an attempt to foil Napoleon's plan to recruit an army of Shiite mercenaries to attack the Allies in the Balkans -- and fails miserably, winding up imprisoned and tortured by his arch enemy Vizier Hashin of Algeria.

Henry’s half-brother Peter Kirkpatrick, captain of a privateer in America’s recently-ended war with England sets sail for Algiers to rescue Henry − without any notion at all of how he will actually manage to do it. Unaware of Peter’s involvement, his wife Dihya also resolves to free Henry the only way she can think of − by getting sold into captivity as an odalisque in Vizier Hashin’s harem. Her weapons are sex, her ferocious courage, and her razor-sharp shreu dagger.

The Most Bold and Daring Act of the Age weaves together three journeys: Peter Kirkpatrick’s attempt to fight his way into Algiers to rescue Henry; Dihya’s infiltration of Hashin’s harem to accomplish the same goal; and Henry’s descent into spiritual torment as he confronts what he fears is the loss of everything he has loved in the world.

Some review highlights:

“This novel is a rip-roaring adventure: well-plotted, well-paced, and full of action that will keep readers turning pages. … This is a historical adventure in the tradition of Patrick O'Brian that is nonetheless fresh and original. The characters are vivid, consistent, and varied. Female characters are as multi-dimensional as their male counterparts. … Fans of Patrick O'Brian will be delighted.” Publisher’s Weekly Book Life Prize Critique

“Intrigue, greed, betrayal, and love are intricately interwoven into this sweeping historical novel. … The intricacy of the web Behr spins, the profound depth of his characters, and his ability to meld people from history with imaginary ones are the hallmark of this book and the series. … This thought-provoking novel leaves an indelible mark that lasts long after the story concludes.”
Pirates and Privateers Magazine

"This latest book in Behr's rollicking historical series grabs audience attention and sustains interest from beginning to end." Foreword Clarion Reviews

Thanks,
Tom

Adele Rose (adelerose) | 7 comments Hi Ariel,

I wondered if you would be at all interested in reviewing the first novel in my YA Fantasy series - Awakening. I’m more than happy to send you a pdf version if that is your preferred method :)

This is the synopsis:

Alex's Checklist:

Being targeted by a 'tangoed' psychopath: CHECK
Having a relationship life that currently sucks: CHECK
Experiencing an Awakening: CHECK. Wait...what?

Before Alexandra Raven’s AWAKENING, her life could be summed up in one word – repetitive. Then, boom. In a pivotal moment, Alex finds out that she can control the element of water – something that she once thought was fictional and can’t believe her luck. However, is this gift a blessing or a curse? Alex is required to leave her old life behind, including her family and David - the boy who promised to stick by her no matter what. What’s more, danger lurks in another dimension. This danger can only be destroyed through loyalty, perseverance and friendship and will turn Alex’s life, in more ways than one, upside down...
