John Cassian | 34 comments Do you like disturbing books? Want to read the serial killer's diary that everyone's talking about? It's been called "more disturbing than Elliot Roger's manifesto," which is saying a lot. So if you've got the stomach for it, give Killing Matt Cooper a chance.

Hey there, John -- this is not the spot to be advertising your book. Please move the post to the appropriate section of the author's corner -- under "Tell us about your book." The advertising link should go to Advertisements, here. Thanks.

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) I actually hadn't heard anyone talking about anything. I've never heard of Elliott Roger. If I ever overheard people were talking about a "serial killer's diary" I think I'd probably turn on my radio and edge away from them, over to the other side of the room.

Carolyn | 11 comments Everywhere I go lately on Goodreads, I'm coming across nobody authors advertising their 20c copies of their dreadful books for sale. I wish they would advertise in the correct places and stop filling up the spaces on the interesting posts with their awful books.

I don't know that they're "dreadful," since I haven't read them, Carolyn, but I'll give him a couple of days and then move the post myself to where it should go.

Carolyn | 11 comments Most of these authors that pop up and advertise in this way usually are.

Be that as it may, the author's post will be moved on Wednesday if nothing changes before then.

John Cassian | 34 comments Hi, Nancy, is the proper place to post this in the "Tell us about your book" section or the "Advertising" section? I don't want to double-post. Let me know. Thanks!

Here's how it works:
For advertising with a link to Amazon, go to the advertisement thread. To just give everyone in the group a general "here's what it's about" thing, go to the "Tell us about your book" section in the author's corner, post it on the thread that is the most appropriate to your book, with no ad link.

I'll be setting up a challenge for reading goodreads MCT authors here within the next week, and the "Tell us about your book" section is where I'll be directing potential readers.
