It was so GREAT! I didn't realize that she wrote books. She wrote my all-time favorite movie, so I was happy to read her very eclectic thoughts on getting older. I'm also going to invest in some turtlenecks. It sounds like it will be inevitable in the next few years that I will need them. ;)

Right!!! :) We have a confirmation, Karen even googled the shade and it comes up as bright yellow, we're good to go. :)

Okay, March Mini Challenge has been posted! Link to the challenge.***************************************************************
This month the mini challenge is all about our team books and authors. There are 4 ways to gain points:
1. Read 5 books by an author of one of the team names for 15 points each
Note: Individual team member can only read each author once. It is ok if more than one team member read the same author.
2. Read one book that is one of the team names for 30 points
Note: Where a team name is a series book, only book 1 of the series can count for this part
3. Scavenger hunt character names in books. Find the first name of one of the characters from our team names for 5 points each. One name per book, maximum of 10 books. Each name must be different (i.e. 10 different names need to be 'hunted')

4. Scrabble
Create a word using the first and last letter of the team names - which words you use is up to the team - but they must be at least 4 letters long.
Read one book per letter of that word for 5 points per letter.
- 4p bonus for completed words with 7 or more letters
- 2p bonus for completed words with 5-6 letters
IMPORTANT: You can only get points for one partially finished word, i.e. if you by the end of the month have more than 1 incomplete words, you will only get 5p/book for the first word.
Example: PYRES (Yvaine is Y,E ; Buttercup is P, Kate Daniels is S, Rose Hathaway for R). Teams can complete this task more than once by creating new words, but you can't re-use letters already used.
Normal "spell-it-out" rules apply. i.e. Letter needs to be the first letter in the book title, author first name or surname, character name or nickname, or setting. Articles (a/an/the) can be ignored in the book titles. For this spell-it-out, you can also use the first letter in the series name.
To help you out, here are the letters, and how many of each, that are available for Scrabble:

Ok so I've updated the planning sheet a bit. There is a new tab for the March Mini-Challenge.Right now I just have the scrabble letters listed in alphabetical order with spots for the number of that letter we have. We can figure out words as we fill in the letters to some extent since we would want to use as many of letters as we have read for an longer words the better. As we formulate some words I can alter the spreadsheet a bit, but to get us started it seemed easier to just list the letters and have at it.
Reminder: Only books read March 15-31 will count for this challenge.
Awesome, Plethora, and thanks! It looks great!I added a tab with book info (improvements and corrections are welcome). I got characters names from books' main pages, so if I missed or got something wrong please add/correct. Looks like there's tons of common names we can work with!
IMPORTANT: Everyone, when you report books read March 15 - 31 please list ALL characters and such, not just the ones that work for UNO cards. It will come super handy for getting the best out of all our read books. Thank you guys!

Hey, guys!I'm sorry for being out lately. I started in a new job, and it demands a lot of time out of the office to complete some tasks.
I'm still reading Harry Potter #4, but it will fit in a Blue Cover with a Character with a name with "O". Olho Tonto Moody, is Mad-Eye Moody in English. There is also Olivio Wood at the beggining of the book.
I am in half of the book, but I think I'm able to finish next week! I have been reading 20 pages per day, but sometimes I can do more.

Hi all, I'm sorry for not posting before I left, but time ran out on me.I am on a cruise right now (day 6 of 10) and won't be back until Monday. Wifi on the ship isn't great so I am not able to post my books right now but will do it when I get back.
ETA: my DH is telling me as he's looking over my shoulder as I'm typing (rude!) that I can try later tonight to get some posting done when i can get to a computer. So, we'll see.
