Thank you!!!!! I'll sit and figure out my contribution tonight.... sorry I've been so quiet.. I'll be upfront with everyone... I'm going to be the quiet and falling behind member of the team... I work full time and go to school full time... I join these challenges so I have a good excuse to take a break and read something I WANT to read.... I hope you will all forgive me. I do look forward to getting to now you all.

We used a spredsheet last year that helped us to organize everything. Do you have an gmail?
Send it to me so I'll let you edit our spreadsheet too (:

Hope you are all having a fabulous day.

OMG! I am so glad to find another person who is in the same boat as me. I am also working full-time and pursuing another Masters' Degree. So, I completely understand how taxing it really can get.
Just enjoy the challenge, Denise!
We need these breaks from that crazy thing called 'real life' :)

Denise, there's absolutely no reason for you to stress out about your pace or contribution! This seems like a very laid back challenge but more importantly it's meant to be fun and a way for us to enjoy ourselves (and possibly blow up our TBRs by like a hundred or so :) ). Please don't worry, read whatever and I too am looking forward to getting to know you :)

That is so cool! I only read Pride and Prejudice which I loved and will hopefully read the rest someday. What sort of activities do you guys do?

1. Add it to your Challenge Shelf
2. Write a quick post here with as many details as possible. Try and mention as many cards your book fits for, so that we can move it based on all the reads throughout the challenge, if need be.
Doing these two things is very important for all of us to be on the same page and for the book to be counted rightfully.
P.S. Add names of characters as far as possible, as at times that information can be hard to find for someone who hasnt read the book.

Sorry, I added all that to the spreadsheet. I didn't know we were to add it here too. I'm on my phone now but will post here later when I can get to a computer.

I think we should use it for 2 in Hand One.

Reverse
Guys, we have a lot of Reverse and Skip cards. Let's try to work on these items.

It may be too much to ask, but having a post here and updating the spreadsheet would be great. (You can update the spreadsheet before or while you read, and then post a completion post here after you are done, if that helps)
Either way, the intention is to have our book checked for every possible card combination, so that we have enough leeway to shuffle our books to account for all the cards in our hand.
Thank you for posting the details, Sassafrass. And Yay on getting the first book read! :D

Points Earned: 20
TOTAL POINTS: 20

We don't have to complete hands one at a time we'll just need to file them in order at the end of the month to get the points. I believe we can choose to completely skip one hand if we run out of time without losing points.
As Apoorv noted above it's definitely good to have as many options as possible and if you can, keep an eye out for rarer ones (V, Z, I, reverse). By the way if you follow or friend a team member it's easy to see whether they read the book you're considering which makes it a lot easier to match reverse :) I know that taking notes can take some fun out of reading but it will be immensely helpful to us so thank you all so very much in advance!

Nope, not too much to ask at all. I just didn't know that we were supposed to. Now that I know, I'll make sure to do it when I'm finished with book.
Whatever makes it easier for you guys to maximize the points is what we should do. :)

We can wait, Plethora, if you think that would ease the process.
I guess I was too excited to get something on board (and I worry that we may miss a book).
Let me know if it would help you to do it all together.

How is everyone doing? Got any plans for the weekend? It's Superbowl Sunday tomorrow here in the US which I'm planning to spend reading with short breaks for commercials, half-time show and food :D What about you guys?

Either way is good for me. I believe we can move books around as we like on the spreadsheet up until we're ready to submit so they aren't locked in yet, and it is pretty motivating to see points starting to stack up :)

I would think it's ok to use it but I asked mods in case I'm wrong. Will post as soon as there's an answer :)

Sassafrass, it was a yes from moderators :)

Great, thanks for checking.
we will likely use the book for the "V" task but I just wanted to know if the option was available.
No Super Bowl for me. I hope to be reading and not doing laundry. I do want to catch the half-time show though. I want to see what Lady Gaga is going to do.

Members,
Add every book you are in mind to read in the next month. Every single one with it's possibilities. By the time you end them fill the "date finished". That you help the Captains to fill the Hands we have to complete.
Captains, last year we had to finish one hand per time to get more points, so we are going to read as crazy as we can and are lol, and by the time you add a book in a hand use the (alt+shif+5)
which is the strike thing, so no one will be confused and we will know that that specific book was used in a Hand.Reverse Column is the only column that the members can edit from another member. When you see that there is a book you have already read, add you name in this column so we can use this book for the Reverse Card ;D
Help our team to improve our spreadsheet! :D Any ideas are very welcome (:
A personal remind to the captains: I am Brazilian, so I read my books in BR Portuguese. I'll add the title in the original name but in (parenthesis) I will put the title in Portuguese, so you will know that that is the title I'm considering.
