Penniless governess Emily is persuaded to marry a dying stranger, in order to prevent his wayward brother, Algernon, from inheriting his estate. Suddenly the owner of a large estate in disrepair, Emily finds herself relying on the kindness of Marcus, a friend of the late-husband she never really knew. However, Emily will have to rely on her faith to survive the traps of her wayward brother-in-law.
