Silvio Baričević | 2 comments The book is a first out a fantasy series of atleast 5 parts (not 100% sure on the exact number but i'm sure there was more than 3) and the only one out of the series that i read. That was approximately 15 years ago so that would put it at year 2001/2002 but i have no idea how old the book actually was at that point. It was a pretty short book of around a 100 pages if not less.

The main plot of the series is a quest for some magical gems of great power, but that's all i remember about that. My most prominent memory of the book is a part near the end where the main characters end up at a place where a magical lily grows out of a pool of tar. The lily according to stories blooms every 100 years or something along those lines, and when it does it releases a nectar that can heal any disease or injury. The place is guarded by what appears to be some kind of knight in a full suit of armor wielding a huge sword, which our heroes can't seem to defeat, kill or even injure, but luckily for them, when everything seems to be lost the lily blooms and starts releasing it's nectar, but since everyone was busy with the fight they didn't notice right away so most of the nectar was lost to the tar pit that it grows from. Now i'm a little fuzzy on the details but i believe the knight notices what's happening, becomes devastated that he failed his quest and just falls apart revealing an empty suit of armor (or something along those lines). Then the main character who is from what i vaguely remember a young male, manages to save some of the last drops of nectar, and upon inspecting the armor they realize it's empty and that it's wearer basicaly turned to dust a long time ago, the armor held together and moving only by it's wearers "will alone". Now i'm not sure how the book ends but i believe they find one of the gems and that it was amber colored after which they move on looking for the next gem.
