Yeah, I got the same email. Sounds like a start-up trying to get a toehold in the industry. I hosted a giveaway contest to edit a book for free just to get started. It's a great way to prove yourself. Tips? Can't hurt to try. I think I'll do it and come back and tell how it worked out. Most of us are broke and hesitant to spend money on anything that doesn't give a return. Hmmm, I'm gonna have to dig that email out of my trash folder. I delete about 95% of all solicitations immediately.

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) I got the same email. Not sure where they got my address from, but I made sure to "unsubscribe" and let Mail Chimp know I never signed up for this newsletter.

Yes, they do get it off of websites. I have a special address at my website & I'm copied on my regular email - it was addressed to the website email both times I received it.

Hi Maia, you are welcome to defend yourself, but self promotion is not allowed here, which is why your post has been deleted. Also, as I noted above, using a subscription based service like MailChimp and filling your mailing list with addresses of people who have not opted into your list is a violation of the CAN-SPAM act.
