SOLVED. Childrens picture book about cat like creature leaving home? [s]

Considering most the people on this site are at least teenagers I doubt I'll find it but when I was little my favorite picture book was about this cat creature. They live separate from humans and look like cats that are bipedal and they're very white, I think that was because they lived in snow? The story revolves around a younger one and he leaves his mother to go into the human world which is a largish city for a reason I can't remember and to hide the fact he looks like a cat he wears a trench coat and hat but someone notices that he had whiskers? I honestly can't remember much about it but the art was strange and so was the story but googling "cat like creature picture book" doesn't really get any relevant results.

Because unless the users here have kids I doubt most people could remember the name of some obscure book they read as toddlers.
I read it in ~1998-2002 so it's older than that.

Trupp: A Fuzzhead Tale ?
