Have you read an interesting article over the net that relates to scifi and fantasy? Good! That's the right place to share it with all the members of the group and discuss it.

The first article is "State of the Sanderson". Each year Brandon Sanderson depicts his tentative plan for his books for the upcoming years. The guy writes a lot, and he has so many brilliant ideas.

Until not long ago my plan was to read Shadows of Self soon, though it appears like the final book in his new trilogy is going to be released in 2019, so there's no hurry to start reading his new trilogy in the Mistborn world.

It's a bit long, tough if you enjoy his novels I'd recommend you on reading it.
Enjoy :)

"Self-Publishing ...exchanging gate-keepers?" - Mark Lawrence's take on self publishing. More questions than conclusion, but it's nice (and short). Read it.

An article by Marc Aplin that deals with the importance of marketing efforts by authors in the media. I read the article and I think think it's 100% true.

For us, the readers, it's great that we live in a time when there're so many authors who are highly accessible and connected between themselves and between the community.

If you're interested in how much some authors earn from writing then that's Kameron Hurley's estimation for 2016 earnings from writing:

$38K - averaging about 12K Shekels a month. Her books sells are ok I think, though she's far from selling a lot of books. Sounds very reasonable for her scale. True, few authors earn more than her yearly income in one month, though most authors make even less than her. Israeli authors are not unique, though it seems like some think overseas almost every author can make living from writing.

Anyway, I don't think we'll see more dystopian scifi on the upcoming years just because the recent events.
