I'm so interested to read this story - thank you for the recommendation.

It looks like a story filled with humour and geekiness, and just as the world has not yet moved on from everything Vampire, neither have I.

Because I like to read books with a deeper meaning, a story where you get to read between the lines, I would be interested to discuss what larger meanings you discover behind the work? What ideas do you think the author explores? What is he or she trying to say?

Ok so I have finished the book, I was hoping for a great read but found it a bit disappointing kind of long winded at the begining, I found it was better from the 69% mark and more interesting then on I did like the ending too
What do others think?

I couldnt get past a quarter of the book. I didnt particularly like the charecters and the gaming world holds no interest for me! I usually read atleast one book a week but it took me over a week to read this much! Have given up and gone onto something else

Pretty much on the same page as you Sharon. I started reading, and got about a quarter of the way through, but it's just moving way too slowly for me. I got bored and haven't picked it up in days.

I thought I was just a slow reader! I am now at the 50-ish% mark, but I like to finish a book when I start it (I'm scared I'll miss an awesome plot-twist) so I'm going to push on. Jan did say it gets better from the 69% mark

I enjoyed reading this story. It wasn't wow! only because I enjoy more angst in my romances, but I loved being immersed in the world of gaming. Their jobs weren't just mentioned briefly, the majority of the story happens at their place of work so I actually feel as if I have learned behind-the-scenes things about the gaming world which interested me and fascinated me. I love learning new things from fiction stories. Sometimes we just need to enjoy a story, one story at a time and not feel rushed to finish it - and this is one of those stories.
My fave quote: “They say all writers are liars,” she says. “How will you know I’m telling you the truth?”

I liked all the gaming stuff, and then when the large tattoo'd guy just assaulted him from out of nowhere, I was intrigued. From the beginning there's that hint that he's been turned into a vampire, so I found that exciting because I wanted to know how it happened. Was it when Wendy bit him the first night they were together? The plot kept me interested, like when, at the launch party he could not remember speaking to the tattoo'd guy, then he finds Daryl's phone and wallet in his car. I actually thought it was a good story and it kept me interested.

I agree, it's not great, only because I like my romance stories with a lot more angst, but for a book about a gaming nerd turned vampire, I thought it was very well told.

I actually really enjoyed this read. The character's snappy witticisms remind me of my own style of writing, and I that kept me very engaged. I am an avid gamer, LOVER of motorcycles and vampires... so many of the elements kept me reading.
My only drawbacks were how the dropped hints towards the beginning that took so long to conclude on, and the fact that this guy didn't really turn into a vampire, like was hinted at.

I only finished this story this weekend and I did enjoy reading it. I mostly enjoyed the gaming aspect and found it interesting. I did not so much like the romantic aspect, and I am not quite sure why but I did not connect with either of them, so if he never went looking for her it would have been okay too,

It felt like it was taking me FORever to read this story, and I think if it wasn't that I made a commitment to read it, I might have stopped halfway through.

Not to take away from the author and all the amazing reviews it's received, the story is well-written and virtually error free, there was just something missing for me personally.
