Arbaaz Khan (arbaazkhan1999) | 1592 comments I think this is a very very very bad influence on childrens. We are never scared if our vhildhood wasn't scary.

GIving them a scare and scaring them for life is a very different thing. adults can frighten them by giving them a brief notnso scary images of jinnbor bogeyman etc...but dont take it to a level that it leaves a deep impression on a child's personality

Arbaaz Khan (arbaazkhan1999) | 1592 comments But sometimes just scaring them a little can do a lot of damage. Which is exactly what happened to me. (Just say yes if u wanna hear the whole story).

Arbaaz Khan (arbaazkhan1999) | 1592 comments Ok then, when i was little i was a mess (laughing as i am writing this) and there was no way i could be settled down. But then i somehow watched the movie "chucky" (don't remember the parts) and i was scared to death by that movie, so if i ever made a mess then i would hear from everyone that "don't do that, chucky will come" and then there was a movie (slightly similiar to IT by stephen king, but a bollywood movie) "woh" and i was scared by a tune which any of the character sings, they die. And also the movie "darna mana hai" and lots lots of other stuff. And then there came the ghost stories like "sar kata insaan" which is actually the legend of sleepy hollow! And other more grusome ghost stories that even i don't remember. And it became my weakness that i couldn't even bear darkness at any cost. But when i grew up the fear had became so strong that i was 12 and couldn't watch a horror movie of any kind. But then i thank my cousins who encouraged me to watch horror movies so the fear would go. I would get used to it. And they were right. Now i am a biggest horror fan alive ;-) and also, whenever there was a request of horror movie i was the only one who would go on a different vote. And now my vote is the first.

Now you would think "no, it happened to you doesn't mean it will happen with every body". but believe me, we never fear if we are not been made to do it.

in my family every child between the age of 3 to 4 was told that if they didnt listen to their parents or didnt eat their food" ankhoob walla a ka un ko lay jaye ga"
it was hilarious to see that the kids are scared shitless because of it... ;)

It did happen to me as a child but at some age you come to terms with the fact that an Ankhoon walla doesn't exist.

message 61: by Arbaaz (new)

Arbaaz Khan (arbaazkhan1999) | 1592 comments Yeah but sometimes the fear is peirced so deeply in your soul that it takes all your strength to take it out.

Maira | 5852 comments Mod
yeah..

message 63: by Shahzaib (new)

Shahzaib (zaib) | 148 comments @Arbaaz, my story is quite similar to yours but has a different ending

So when I was little, I got scarred for life when i saw the movie Child's play (the chucky one). My elder sisters used to scare me saying,"Chucky ajae ga" and all that. I used imagine chucky everywhere from the cupboards to under the bed. i would get nightmares and could not stay in a room alone. Also the tv series WOH that used to come on Zee Tv. I used to get Shit scared when I heard the creepy "LA LA LA". Arbaaz, what are the odds right ? but the similarities end here

though i grew up, watching horror movies never become easier for me. I never became very found of watching horror movies. Few days after my 19th birthday all of my cousins decided that it was my time to out grow my fears. So we watched "the curse of chucky" with lights turned off. I painstakingly watched it whole with jumping at every jump scare and freaking out like a little girl the whole time :D. That night I didn't slept.

Bro believe me, your preaching the choir !

message 66: by Arbaaz (new)

Arbaaz Khan (arbaazkhan1999) | 1592 comments I didn't get it shahzaib, what do you mean?

message 67: by Shehzad (new)

Shehzad | 648 comments My parents tried that on me too with little success. But Child's play was a whole different experience. My cousin had a life size doll like chucky. And once i had watched the movie, i couldn't go alone into the room where the doll was kept, not even in broad daylight.

shazaib: i know this little bit of information (or kack of therefor in children) make it more hilarious

message 69: by Arbaaz (new)

Arbaaz Khan (arbaazkhan1999) | 1592 comments Shahzaib, thats exactly what happened to me. Thanks for sharing your story :-) and i still don't get what you mean by "preaching the choir"?

Vaisey I think this scaring kids into doing things is one of the WORST part of our desi culture.

Arbaaz Khan (arbaazkhan1999) | 1592 comments Oh yeah, i understand. It's good that now i don't fear that much but sometimes i do lol ;-)

Jinn are reality but i am not sure if they can possess any human and whether can the control his actions.
If we cannot get answers from our religion we should go for science. Science is most reliable after religion.
With the advancement in fields of psychology and cognitive sciences most of the human behavior can be explained and even can be seen by using techniques like MRI and fMRI. And you can see hypnotists making people do strange things. And hypnosis is scientifically proven thing.

message 74: by Arbaaz (new)

Arbaaz Khan (arbaazkhan1999) | 1592 comments Elec i think that we can get the answers from our religions too if we just change our perspectives a little bit.

message 75: by [deleted user] (new)

@Arbaz I mean their are things which are not discussed in detail in religion. Like structures of viruses, bacteria etc. I wanted to say that we don't have any proof of exorcism from religion but in our culture it is believed. So we are free to get help from science.

message 76: by [deleted user] (new)

Zenab wrote: "Vaisey I think this scaring kids into doing things is one of the WORST part of our desi culture."

Yeah this way we sow fear in them which grows until they are unable to get rid of that. We should make children to take interest in something we want them to do. And keep children away from them we should give some good alternative. Because vacuum is never a good thing.

message 77: by Arbaaz (new)

Arbaaz Khan (arbaazkhan1999) | 1592 comments Elec, whats your religion?

message 78: by [deleted user] (new)

Islam.

message 79: by Arbaaz (new)

Arbaaz Khan (arbaazkhan1999) | 1592 comments Then i would recemend not just follow it, but researcg it as well. :-)

message 80: by [deleted user] (last edited Aug 09, 2014 06:10AM) (new)

Same thing i wanted to say. OK tell me what did you find out about exorcism in Islam. And don't get me wrong my belief is that Scientific knowledge is also from Allah and its the another way of explaining things... First Religion then Science. Because to understand completely the divine knowledge you have to research in both fields. Allah have many time said to THINK and PONDER over the SIGNS and religion has always priority. Religion is complete knowledge and science is yet not complete (that's why some discrepancies) but concerns are different one is worldly and other one for both here and here-after... OK back to question what is the proof of exorcism.

elec nice perspective. I have studied the exact same thing in philosophy. and I believe that it us true. as for belief in islam Arbaaz you Cannot challange that no matter how YOU think.

message 82: by Arbaaz (new)

Arbaaz Khan (arbaazkhan1999) | 1592 comments Actually elec i am not challenging you or something, to ve honest with you i have never properly researched on it but as far as i have noticed (by reading some of the sura al jinn itself) i think that maybe, just maybe the jominns were not a supernatural force, it is mistaken. They were humans too. But then again, i could be wrong so please don't ever think that i am challenging you or something. And also, it does not mean that i am just saying stuff without even looking into it first. Because if that was the case i would never say that i can be wrong. That is the main reason. And thats all i will say about this topic.

I have read somewhere that jinn is another race created by Allah who exist in reality.

message 85: by Arbaaz (new)

Arbaaz Khan (arbaazkhan1999) | 1592 comments It is a race created among humans. Thats what i know. But i am gonna research very soon.

message 86: by Mahnoor (new)

Mahnoor (noor155) Jinn are another race created by Allah. They will be judged by Allah on Judgement day.

message 100: by Arbaaz (new)

Arbaaz Khan (arbaazkhan1999) | 1592 comments The mortal instruments series. The first book is called city of bones. And also, it is aimed at a very mature audience because of some creepy violent scenes and some other stuff (if you know what i mean).
