Is anyone doing anything interesting with audio or video to promote their work? I'm thinking of making a trailer for my upcoming book, but I want to try something new and interesting. Would love to hear how other people are leveraging these mediums.

I've done a lot. I have made trailers for each of my son's books and a couple for each of my series. We use them on Facebook and UTube. People like them- I know some of my friends use them when they introduce their book. My social media coordinator has used them extensively on Facebook to promote. I do radio shows regularly. She puts them on my blog and Facebook. I've done so well, I've been given my own show which will start airing sometime in January.
I worked with both KDP and Amazon on a project. They put up the videos on Utube. We've put them on my website and it brought a bunch of guest spots on Publisher's Weekly, Kirkus and Foreword Review.

Thanks RL, you are so sweet. They delete that stuff when I put it up- so google my name - Carole P. Roman kdp on utube. I'm sure it will come up. Don't mind my Brooklyn accent, lol.

I don't, personally, but I'm moving this to the trailers workshop folder. You'll find quite a few threads where our members have posted trailers and offered advice, so there are a lot of great examples to look at.
I just made my a book trailer for my newest book. I always enjoy making them and picking out the perfect song for them. I usually post them to YouTube, here on my page and my Facebook page. Do they get a lot of views? Not as much as I'd like but then again I haven't found how to really showcase them. Some people have millions of views over nothing lol so there's a trick somewhere.I also do soundtracks for my books on soundcloud. I pick songs that are fitting to the books characters, theme and overall presence. I usually post a link to it on my website below my book trailer. Again I don't know if they get a lot of listening but fun to make. I really need to promote both of them better.
Check out Joe Turk's work on his Making Monsters book. Message him directly or go to his site. I think his animation is groundbreaking, as far as indie projects go.Making Monsters
Hey guys, the reason we delete things is because they go off topic and become personal conversations. Do keep the rules in mind. Thanks.
