Definitely an interesting beginning! A young scholar (man after my own heart!) with big dreams, gets waylaid by an infatuation with a young woman, subsequently tricked into a very unsuitable marriage, then she and her family are gone, all in a very few pages! At least it appears that some of his old drive is back now, and he will go back to the studies he enjoys. Something tells me we haven't seen the last of Arabella, though. The irony will be after all this she turns out to get pregnant anyway, and now he DOES have a child running around out there.....
