Kristine I super-loved House of Leaves. It is definitely one of the most original works of literature... it's in a category all its own. Danielewski's second book, Only Revolutions, had a similar format and it just did not work. I don't think it can ever be recreated.

Rox Guillemette Check out Italo Calvino's If on a winter night a traveler. It's not as graphically original, but the storytelling and point of view is unique and quirky.

Kevin Cady Loved HOL!

Have you read The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall? Super unique aesthetically as well as content wise!! As close as I've found to HOL!
