Help Please! I remember reading a series of books as a child (1980s-1990s). It was in the vein of the "Tomb Raider" video games/"Indiana Jones". A young aristocratic woman inherits her family's fortune and goes on adventures. Seems to be in the early 20th century or Victorian age. Her Butler/Guardian is the narrator of the stories. She has an arch nemesis who resembles Professor Moriarty from Sherlock Holmes. I remember one book takes place in Egypt and one in the United States. I LOVED this series as a child but cannot remember the name. I've searched the internet but have come up with nothing. Please help!

Could it be Llyod Alexander's Vesper Holly series? They all have titles "The [name of location] Adventure." Eg, The Illyrian Adventure
